MIM #83 Card Aisle Inspiration

Melissa Phillips encouraged us to peruse the card aisle in local shops to gain inspiration.
Any excuse to visit Target!
When I used to actually buy cards, Papyrus cards were always great to ooh and aah over.
Went right to the Papyrus section and found wonderful inspiration. Just hated to have to buy a card!
Our son's birthday is Friday, so having a reason to do a card and enter a challenge is a great way to start the week!
Now you'd have to know our son to appreciate why I chose stars to dangle my cupcakes. He's a superstar in every way. So instead of balloons (inspiration card) I chose to die cut stars.
Here's the 'bought' (bad word!) card.
Cute card, bright colors, loved the dangling cupcakes, and the way they were embellished.
Here's a closeup of mine.
They actually do 'dangle' freely, and it was a windy day, so it was hard to keep them still.
Almost all PapertreyInk products.
Cardstocks: Enchanted Evening, mounted on Spring Moss. All the rest are PTI, as well as inks, and dies.
Stampsets used: Super stars, and Cupcake Collection (hand cut, cuz I haven't received my new order yet! sigh!) Also a flower center dot from Flower Fusion #9 (embossed).
One more thing I did that was in the inspiration card was insert a decorated inner lining.

Fast, fun and easy! Thank you Melissa!

  3. I like how the cupcakes are free to float, and I love the little beads on the string. The cupcake sprinkles are adorable!

  5. Nancy, your card's color scheme is so pretty. The dark blue background really makes the cupcakes pop, and I'd like to reach out and grab one! :D
