MIM #89 Floating Images

Happy Halloween everyone!
It's time to post a card for MIM, an ingenious tutorial by Nichole Heady
My Christmas stash is growing!
Every card from now on will probably be to send.
Nichole had us die cut a window and float something on the front of the card.
After a week of non traditional holiday colors, I went for the always traditional red & white!
Gotta have those Christmas bells!
The inside is a simple wish sentiment from 'Happiest of Holidays'.
Will be using that set alot, I'm sure.
Love this technique!
PapertreyInk Stamp and die sets:
Happiest of Holidays
Mistletoe and Holly
Home for the Holidays
Happy Harlequins
Limitless Layers Circle dies (the larger one)
Card base cardstock: Rustic White
Pure Poppy ink: PapertreyInk

PTI's MIM #88 Positive & Negative Die Cuts

Well it's Friday here on the farm, and I'm just getting around to
posting a card for MIM!

Erin Lincoln showed us how to use positive and negative die cutting for impact on our cards.
Just received the Believe stamp and die sets released last year. Such a folksy look, seemed to go with this plaid paper used on the bottom.
Papertrey cardstock: Spring Moss, white cardstock embossed with cuttlebug folder, Swiss Dots
Authentique 6x6 Christmas paper pack die cut with Fillable Frames #10 (fit the sweet Santa perfectly!)
Stickles fill the berries on the trees, and Liquid Pearls helped Santa's beard and fur stand out.
Lace ribbon from Webster's Pages, and jingle bell from Michaels.
On a headstart roll for my cards this year, with October's blog hop and MIM challenge, so back I go to the craft cave!
Another note before I forget. The sweetest people follow these blogs. Kindness abounds when they see the work each crafter has done. I thank everyone who took the time to comment, pointing things out I hardly noticed, and saying it in the sweetest way.  It's a joy to be connected to caring folk, and I especially offer thanks to Nichole and all the amazingly talented designers with PTI.
Well there it is, another MIM, another Blog Hop. Gotta go check out my stamping sisters (and I noticed one brother?!) Way too long winded today! Looking forward to next week and a new challenge!

PapertreyInk October Blog Hop: Non-Traditonal Holiday Colors

There are 6 non traditional color groups to the challenge.
Couldn't pick just one, so, did all 6!
Color-group-1
Used all the challenge colors for this one, plus kraft.
It just fit so well!
Wreath is Limitless layers circle dies, big and small, cut with kraft cardstock and white felt, staggered. Then wrapped with twine.
2nd challenge
Color-group-2
Used lots of different dies for this one.

Color group 3

Wonderful excuse to try the diamond harlequin stamps and dies!
#4
Color-group-4
Couldn't wait to use my copics for this one
(Thank you Debbie Olson!)

For years I made and sold Santa dolls.
Anything santa, I love!
#5
Color-group-5

I absolutely love Sept. and Oct.'s stamp releases!
So glad for the excuse to use them. Gingerbread was a blast! Sprayed the whole card with adhesive and
shook on fairy dust!
And #6
Color-group-6
Threw in a little limey washi tape. Also, the red scarlett plaid is washi from Freckled Fawn.

Can't wait to see what ya all came up with.
If you've got any how's  or where's, let me know.
I love sharing!
Oh, and it's not to late to join in the fun.
Check out Nichole's blog on PapertreyInk!
Happy Blog day!

MIM #87 Stamping Alphabets with dies

Heather Nichols had us creating our own stamps with craftfoam this week at PTI.
Positioning of the letters don't always behave, so I let them have their way!
Kinda like the freeform.
I Used the angled label die to create
a window for my embossed letters, and embossed a frame around the frame.
Lots of fun to know I can create any sentiment I want!

used a bit of the craftfoam on the bottom cut with an 'In the Meadow' die, also from PapertreyInk.

WCMD: Make a Christmas Card at Moxie Fab

Once again, just in the nick!
Made a couple of Christmas cards hoping to win Cath's fab mags.
If you're getting to know me at all, you know this card is mostly PapertreyInk.
Any questions? I'd love to answer.
And #2
Lots of loving detail on this one. Christmas always means, get out the glitter!
(...and embossing powder, and the bells and whistles!)
Once again, any questions, I'd love to share technique!

Papertrey's MIM #86 Inside Edition

Oh, I'm so late posting this week. I love playing along with MIM, so late as I am, here's my card!
Ashley Canon Newell had us give the inside of our cards some TLC. I have to admit, I do this each time I create a card. My sewing  machine has a prominent place in my craft room,
so each card I do has some sort of sewing on it, usually always on the inside.
Love Lives Here: Holiday was introduced by Papertrey last year, and I loved the homespun angel!
She's the focal pt. of the card with a few die cut and embossed snowflakes from Snowflake Medley.
She's mounted on a die cut Fillable Frames #10.
Papers PapertreyInk: Bitty Dot, Candy Cane Prints, Ocean Tides and Kraft.
Sentiment from Love Lives Here: Holiday
I stamped a woodsy Christmas tree on the inside, and then sewed a velum piece over it.
Sentiment from Happiest of Holidays, stamped in dk. chocolate.
2 die cut snowflakes finish off the corners.
The scalloped edging was acheived by using the off piece of border heart die.
Hard to see, but I added a bit of snowflake edge to simulate angel feet.
An embossed snowflake is her halo.
Make It Monday features a new video and challenge every week. It can be found on PapertreyInk's website, on Nichole's Blog.
But be careful! It's highly addicting!

MIM #85 Glitter Tabs

Dawn McVey at PapertreyInk has a fun tutorial this week,
Glitter Tabs.
Now anything that involves glittering has my attention, so I played along.
(Actually, PapertreyInk and Nichole's blog has become a new home for my crafting, I'm visiting way too oten!).
One more Halloween card for the grandkids.
(There are 10!)
I'd say they're cheaper and better for the teeth than candy,
but cheaper's a fib that will cause my nose to grow!
Picked up Authentique's new 6x6 Enchanted paper pack and a new set of 'Spooky' buttons.
Here's a closeup of the glittered tab.
It's a punched out pinked circle by Martha Stewart's punch around the page, but rather than cut off the unglittered half, I folded it to make the black stand out more.
Papertrey's cardstock, Mat Stack 4 - Layerz, Banner Builders (distressed and inked in Fresh Snow),
Mr. Bones stamp set.
I used the layerz mat stack 4 die to punch out the middle of the web paper. The sentiment is recessed in the hole.
Love glittering tabs, thanks Dawn. Will be using this technique through the holidays!
