Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger

The Tuesday Trigger this week is Pastel Pretties
Doesn't it make you think of all things Easter?

Still making some late Easter cards, so this challenge was calling me!
Had way too much fun playing with PTI's Polka Dot Parade #1 this year.
Stamp embossed the chocolate bunny and put him in a basket created with Limitless Layers circle and oval dies.
A lot of popping up allowed me to give the basket dimension and add the grass, an idea borrowed from Betsy Veldman last year.
Bunny's tail is white felt with a tiny pink button.
Easter tag stamped with some blossoms from Bountiful Blooms. The little blossoms from that stamp set are die cut and stamped with Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Sweet blush and even a tiny star shape near the sentiment of Spring rain.
The basket is on Mat Stack 4, and run through the Cuttlebug with the polka dot folder, then mounted on Mat Stack 4 Layerz in Summer Sunrise.
The sentiment is also from Polka Dot Parade.
Haven't decided which of the 10 gets this one. Probably my little Noelle,
who lives in a tutu and loves all living creatures.
PTI's Summer Sunrise pattern packs Under split Parisian Doily die cut doily.
Wishing all the most blessings God can give this time of year,
and a very Happy Easter!

MIM #109 Watercolor Stamping Plus Embossing

The very talented Betsy Veldman shows us how to use re-inkers to first stamp our cards, then emboss, giving a soft watercolor look.
The new Birds and Blooms stamp set seemed perfect for creating a watercolor.
I repositioned and stamped 3 times, then added the 2 single leaves for a fuller wreath.
Re-inkers: Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold and Spring Rain.
Double embossed with Lilac Pastel by Stampendous, and Zing Powder.
Diecut branch was stamped with re-inkers and embossed with Adirondack Lettuce.
Birds diecut, stamped with re-inker mix and stamped with Winter Wisteria, as was the sentiment.
Lilac border print from Secret Garden, all mounted on Rustic White cardstock.
Had to get this done before the baking begins!
Happy Easter to all!

March Blog Hop

Blog-hop-logo
Good Morning everyone, and welcome to PTI's March Blog Hop!
The theme is Sequins!
Enjoy my post and get in on the fun!
Nichole did a sequin shaker card, which inspired me to do one also, Easter themed.
Sequins are pretty flat and easy to put in a shaker. Just not so easy to photograph!
'Ingredients' at the end of the post.

2nd post is an Easter card with sequin focus. You buy the string of sequins and curl into a circle.
Just seemed to go with the foil bunny and aqua foil trim.

Next is a goodie I found in the Michael's sale bin.

Already sequined and ready to stick on a card!

One late last post to go along with the March Blog Hop
Funny story. I've been complaining about the lack of cute sequins in my neck of the woods.
Checking out the really unique and colorful posts on everyone's blogs today, I started to go through my sewing stash, which has taken a backseat to my paper stash (anyone know what I mean?).
Guess what I found? The cutest braid with tiny flower sequins!
Got out the burlap bags from PTI and went to work!
Made 3 quick bags for chocolate eggs for the girls. (The boys know grandma loves to make things, and they sweetly tolerate me and my cutesy cards! But the girls are big fans).
Quick bunny cuts from Polka Dot Parade, some lace and rick rack and a few embroidery stitches on each bag, and done!
Hope it gives you an idea. Not that we all don't have enough to do between now and Easter!
Happy Hopping (te he!)

MIM #108

Papertrey's MIM this week features a challenge from Heather Nichols to Ink our Backgrounds.
She gave a couple of examples, one was to clear emboss, then sponge ink with various colors.
Tried it, with reds and browns.

Background Basics: Super Stripes
Inks: Pure Poppy, Scarlett Jewel, Klassic Kraft, and Dark Chocolate.
Martha Stewart edge punch
Fabric ruffle (French General fabric)
Kaisercraft wooden dressform
Sentiment from Button Boutique on banner from In Stitches.
Kinda bent the saying to fit the banner.
Pure Poppy Twill ribbon, brad button

Always fun to learn new techniques! Never inked my own background, and I will be
doing it again!

Tuesday Trigger: Elegant Emerald

Tuesday Trigger's challenge at Moxie Fab World is Elegant Emerald
The dress was my inspiration. But as a began to put together my project, the elegance of the picture became the inspiration.
Longtime a fan of Catherine Moore and her Character Constructions.
Her 'doll' parts are so much fun to put together, color and tweek into a theme.
I pretty much followed the inspiration photo and 'dressed' my doll.
Very modelesque, like the photo, she poses in shades of emerald.
Her veil is complete with metal butterfly, painted wih liquid pearls and studded with rhinestones.
Feather is sprayed with blue and green paint and glittered.
Copics used on body and gown.
Cage skirt is a diecut, stamped and dotted with liquid pearls, over a printed page.
The bookpage layers are sewn and distressed.
She carries her 'lucky' banner. (The wearin' of the green)
She's a tall lady, 5"x8" to top of feather.
Lucky Lady is assembled onto a stamped background of butterflies.
PTI cardstock, inks and butterflies.
Hemline is a strip of gold foil.
I will be hand making the envelope for this card!
I sewed a strip of vellum onto Aqua Mist cardstock and white embossed a white butterfly behind her head. Rather framed the face. She is dusted with fairy dust glitter.
If you have any questions, just ask! I love to share.

MIM #107 Clear Card & Copic Coloring Basics

Nichole Heady challenges to make a card using clear cardstock.
She shows us a few Copic Coloring Basics as well.
Just returned from Corona, CA., on a trip to visit my daughter and her family,
and their new home they just move to.
This card, and a gift basket will go to them.
Used Boards and Beams Stamp set and dies.
This set has the cutest homey sentiments!
Luckily there was a great scrapbooking store (Wootens), in Corona, where I was happily lost for a couple of hours! (Well, it was a large store!)
The owner was so sweet and shared some of the new items just in from CHA, and I filled my basket with some new 6x6paper packs. This one by Authentique was screaming Spring.
All double sided, love when that happens!
The trees are stamped on pattern paper, with a few of the leaves and the trunk colored in.

A few closeups show some detail. The clouds were given some dimension with T1 copic.
But they're hard to see as I put them on the green inside layer.
Double Ended Banner is die cut from a coordinating floral, and stamped with the sentiment.
Fences are diecut from Hibiscus Burst cardstock and accented with a white pencil.
Pretty pattern paper gets some stamping with a sweet sentiment.
Don't you love that saying?

Back is stamped with a stamp from 'Handmade Hodgepodge'.
Always try to sign the cards I make, and it helps to have sweet little stamps to showcase name and date!
Thanks, Nichole!
This was so much fun, I know I'll be doing more cards like this again.

MIM #106

Melissa Phillips takes the reins for Papertrey's MIM with Two Toned Stamped Flowers.
I'm the biggest fan of Melissa. Her picture is next to 'talent' in my book!
Her tutorial had us use 2 stamps to ink a flower.
Well I tried 2 of every color I had and settled with Summer Sunrise and Limeaid Ice.
Really thinking Spring. It's been in the 70's around here!
My heart is with those who are still, shall we say, enjoying a long winter?
Wanted to do cards for ladies in my Bible Study who have memorized  Psalm 121.
"I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
Closeup will show that the center panel is diagonally stamped with the leaf border from My Mother My Friend in Smokey Shadow. The flowers are Mini Blooms with the triple dots stamped 3 times in Harvest Gold.
Then, like Melissa's, put in an embossing folder and run through the cuddlebug.
I love using vellum Photo Finishers. That got the sentiment, embossed with a die cut Framed Out #3.
The congrats is from Framed Out #7.
Dawn's Cutting Garden will not be put away for awhile, I'm so in love with it!
It got the 2-toned treatment, but then stamped again and spritzed with water. Kinda intensified the colors. That front leaf is ghost stamped. Am I a happy student of tutorials?
Honestly don't know a better way to spend Monday Mornings!

Limeaid Ice pattern pack paper behind the panel.
Beth Moore's series on the Psalms of the Ascents is our Bible Study.
She a gifted women's Bible teacher. If you've never taken one of her studies, she comes highly recommended by me!
Just beginning to decorate the house for Easter (early this year, it seems). Planning on the kids and a large group for the holiday. It doesn't get any better than that!

MIM #105 2nd Post

Had to do a birthday card for an aunt turning 85, and it just needed the right bling. Perfectly coincides with MIM's tutorial given by Dawn McVey.

I used PTI's Shutterbug Special stamps and dies mostly.
Nichole Heady gave a tutorial a while back on stamp bleaching. The background is stamped repeatedly with bleach using the camera stamp, on Smokey Shadow cardstock. It turned shades of the most subtle kraft. Very photo negative looking. Embossing done with copper and Farm and Barn stamps. (PTI). I seem to like the look of that stamp alot!
Added a strip of double sided tape and fairy maple sugar glitter to the top.
The camera image was versamark stamped on Sweet Blush and embossed with red powder.
  MS pinked circle punched twice.
My sweet aunt still drives and loves life!

The message pulled from the slot is a stamped sentiment from Framed Out #1.
Here's a shot of the inside.
Stylish Sentiments: Birthday and My Mother: My Friend. (PTI)
Going to do my first double entry! Also entering Moxie Fab's Camera Craze Challenge.

Love, love, love these colors! And the texture of the handwork? Just screamed, "Play this challenge!"
PTI's cardstock: Rustic White, Lavender Moon, Scarlet Jewel, Limeaid Ice. Card Base: Stamper's Select White.
Background created with PTI's kraft in Stitches and Swirls.
Stripes stamped onto Lavender Moon strip.
Hawaiian Shores leftover piece (just couldn't throw it away!)
Antique lace on a half Parisian doiley die cut from Aqua Mist: PTI

The medallion is die cut from Lovely Layers and stamp embossed with some new Zing Powders

Can you tell I love all things PapertreyInk?
Beautiful projects over on Cath's blog, check it and play along. It's a 2 weeker!
