MIM #140 Ink Pad Designs

Ashley shows us how to use our ink pads to design our cards
 on this week's Makeit Monday.
Totally fun and colorful way to be creative with the stamp pads.
Needed a few cards for Thanksgiving, so I made 2 cards for the challenge.

Cut a window in my Rustic Cream card stock with Limitless Layers oval, ran it through the Cuddlebug again with the Woodgrain embosser (both PTI), and then came the fun.
Using Canyon Clay inkad, I swiped it over the card stock. Really brought out the grain of the wood.
Spritzed it with water, to tone down just a bit.
Basket of Blessings copper embossed and selectively bleached. (Remember that tutorial?)
Autumn Acorn leaves and PTI twine.

2nd card used Basket of Blessings again (it was handy, and I love that basket!)
This time embossed in gold, and again used bleach.
(It was handy too!)

The sentiment was clear embossed before I applied the ink pad. I also spritzed it with water.
I think it looks like marble!
Sentiment is also from Basket of Blessings. I used my gold gel pent hilight the T and B.
Rustic Cream cardbase.

  6. wow - this stamp is definitely great for embossing powder, and the colour choices really give the cards a nice effect. Thx for pointing out the gold gel pen highlighting the letters - good idea - especially with the background paper.

  7. You made great use of this technique, Nancy. Your choice of colors with the embossing result in an incredible woodgrain. The second card has the look of suede to me. Whether suede or marble, it is a wonderful background for the basket. And thanks for the reminder about the bleach. It looks great.

  8. What you did with the embossed wood is so pretty! Just a lovely color and finish. I love that basket, too! What a great Thanksgiving card. I LOVE the next card. I think it looks like marble too. Beautiful the way you embossed the sentiment. The basket and border trim perfect touches! Two LOVELY cards!
