MIM #203: Doodling With Stamps & V's Sweet Ideas

It is a super delicious morning here in California's Central Valley.
Sky is blue, blossoms are everywhere, and hope fills the soul!
and... all I want to do is... craft!

Ashley has a super video on Nichole Heady's blog for MIM,
all about 'doodling'.
And so many good tips on making it the star of the show!

Had to try it, and try it, and, as they say, 3rd time's the charm!
(1st 2 look like my granddaughter did it!)

Finally got one I could post, but if it wasn't so darn nice outside, it too would
be a do-over!

The doodling isn't as easy as you think it should be. And one too many doodles is too many!
(Just sayin', be warned!)
Tried to give the wings a bit of 'flutter'.

All PTI
Butterfly from: You're a Masterpiece
Turning a New Leaf
Sentiment from: Quilted: Spring
I used the new Linen card stock, hoping for a texture with the watercolors.
Popped up the bottom butterfly.
.03 copic pen

Ready to try it?

  1. Superb! I bet the other two were pretty, also. (You had time to make three just this morning?!)

  2. I'm super jealous of your artistic doodling ability, Nancy. I've tried three times already amd they were all horrid and promptly trashed. And I was even copying Ashley! Yours is gorgeous and original and so confident!

  3. I have a hard time believing your first 2 tries were that bad, but your third one is absolutely enchanting! This one looks like you've been doing it forever! The colors and all the markings are just perfect Nancy...a real stunner! :0)

  4. Nancy you have nothing to be worried about, your card is gorgeous! I agree though, making those doodle lines was harder and more stressful than I thought it would be. This is just darling and I'll bet the other two are card worthy as well. Use your MIDAS touch. ;0)

  8. Silly me...I forgot it was Tuesday already. You must have thought my first comment was really strange! The weather has been so kooky here in Maryland (delays and snow days galore) that my sense of time is thrown off.

  17. Nancy, your doodling created a masterpiece. Those butterflies truly are in flight. Love this! I'm almost afraid to try it, but I'll take a look at what stamps I have that might work. Better start this early since several have made several attempts to accomplish something they'd publish. : )
