Paper Sweeties Inspiration Challenge - March 2016

Did someone say March 1st?
It's time for a new challenge at Paper Sweeties!

Chalkboard? cup, coffee, twigs, and aqua, red & sand.
Lots of inspiration this month.

I think the teapot is my favorite PS Sweetcut ever! And any excuse to use it...
well, I built my card and theme around it!

Play along all month for a chance at a gift certificate and to be out guest designer!

12 Kits of Occasions: February Watercolor Wonders

Well Hello there, and welcome to February 12 Kits of Occasions!
It's my month and I chose a watercolor theme.

Lindsey put together this gorgeous collage of the kit!

Watercolor Wonders!
I'm seeing watercolors everywhere in the card world, from a spash of color
on a die cut, to working a background, we're all loving the
dreamy free form splashes of color.
Can't wait to see what the talented designers of 12 Kits do this month,
and there's a guest designer too,
Marcia Hill from Marcia's Stampin' Pad.
I think I got carried away with the joys of card making with my own kit! (LOL!)
Not even going to tell you how many cards I made, just scroll on down and hopefully enjoy!

This effect came about with rock salt.
Have you used it with wet color? It soaks up the paint, and leaves this
crazy texture!

Haven't been able to put Bold Blossoms away ever since my PTI order came!
Last month!

Hard to see, but this one's been sprayed with Imagine Fireworks.

I sent everyone the designer paper peeking out on the left, & added the fuchsia watercolor on the paper's butterflies with my Zig pens.

Anyone recognize this older rubber stamp from Stampington?

Loved painting these gorgeous magnolia blossoms  from Altenew!

If I had to pick a favorite, it's the way this bg within the frame turned out.
Sometimes the sweetest accidents just happen with watercolors!

This fun tag was included in the kit, along with the congrats tag.

I'm closing with this card using a Waltzingmouse stamp set.
I just heard Claire is closing down her company.
We have all loved her charming stamps and dies, and
hate to see her go. To read more, visit ...WMS is closing and send some love!
Well that's it!

You're in for a treat with the rest of the designers.
Don't miss a single one!

You'll find a full list of supplies on the 12 Kits of Occasions Website.

So Sweet of You

It's Blog Hop time at Papertrey Ink, and Nichole selected
this divine inspiration for us.

So many lovely layers of feminine charms, in a dreamy collage,
in soft pinks and greens.

I knew I had to bring out an old favorite, Simply Jane, with it's gorgeous cameo and Victorian frame.
PTI has a coordinating book of script papers that reminded me of
the little tucked note in the photo.
Adding Meadow Greens, and the delicate branch from Songbirds, looks as though she's posing in a conservatory.

All the elements are layered onto a Fine Linen Tag Sale #6.
PTI Inks: Sweet Blush, Simply Chartruese,  Mint Julep, Vintage Jadeite,
 Lovely Lady, and Stormy Sea.
The frame is stamped with Ranger's Ground Expresso.
PTI cardstock, Rustic White, Simply Chartruese, Fine Linen, Bitty dot Vellem.

With so much inspiration in one photo, the hop is sure to be
full of fabulous creations!
Enjoy!

Birthday Wishes and Watercolor Resist

I had the Meadow Greens stamps and dies on my worktable,
finishing my card for tomorrow's Blog Hop,
and before putting them away, did a card for the latest MIM at Papertrey.
Lexi works her wonders showing us how she watercolor resists.
I didn't have any rubber cement, but used masking fluid instead,
following her instructions applying it to watercolor paper.

From the treated paper came a contemporary, all over design.
I cut some Mega Vases dies, and used 3 of them for a birthday card.
To make them stand out from each other, I sponge inked the sides
of the vases for a little dimension.

Popped up the center vase with foam, added a die cut a branch from Songbirds, a few
rainstones, and done!

You Color My World

Make It Monday at Papertrey, was on Wed. this week,
due to their fabulous release week.
Lizzie's tutorial shows us that patterned paper can be altered with
stamp and color.

PTI: Black & White All Over Pattern Paper.
You Are a Masterpiece stamps and dies.
I masked the lines on the pattern paper, so I could stamp the twig image
all over the inside.
Then masking inside, I sponge inked the corners.
PTI Inks: Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy, Blueberry Sky,
and the twigs are stamped with Mint Julep.
PTI Button Twine

I'm so glad PTI had a MIM (even if it was on Wed.!)
and thanks to Lizzie for a super fun lesson!

Paper Sweeties February 2016 Release Countdown!

Tomorrow's Release Day at Paper Sweeties for the month of February!
And the stamp and die set we are featuring is one
everyone of us stampers and cardmakers need.

If you know someone going through a rough time, a caring card says so much!
And this set, 'Thinking of You', can say it all!
So many thoughtful words to put just the right saying together.

I diecut the frame into my card front, and made a shaker with Distress Glitter.
Inked the front in soft colors, and added
some die cut posies with leaves to dress the corners.
The frame, posies and leaves are in the Sweet Cuts set.
Paper Sweeties sequins, a soft pink ribbon, and the card is finished.

Hope you take a look at the rest of the team's inspiration,
and be sure to play along with this month's PS Challenge!
