Paper Sweeties April '16 Inspiration Challenge

April 1st, and no foolin', it's time for Paper Sweeties
April Challenge!

How was I inspired?

The wreath, had to make it out of coffee beans from
Coffee Yes Please,
and that darling bow!
Can you see the Wink of Stella? Love how it gives a bit of shine.

Play all month for a chance to win a 25. gift certificate!

12 Kits March '16 Spring Fling

It's Spring, and it's time for the 12 Kit's of Occasions post.
It's Michelle Leone's month to  provide our theme,
'Spring Fling'
and just look at the goodies she sent us!
I couldn't stop putting together colors and die cuts, even the cutest
clothespin with wood bird attached!
Well, just have a look!

1st off, this sassy bunny, perfect for coloring with watercolor pencils.

So many Eastery designer papers, among them, this colorful
egg paper which I used for the colors on Miss bunny.

Michelle sent these sweet bunny die cuts, which I brown inked a bit and
mounted over a vellum tag with fussy cut Easter eggs.

Everything you see here was included in Michelle's kit,
right down to the fluffy bunny tail!
So in love with this basket weave die, I had to order it!
It's from Frantic Stamper.

I used one of my tags in the kit to make this spring birthday card,
and colored the 'birthday' sentiment.

Oh yes, there's more!

Once again, one of those adorable bunny die cuts!

This time a shaker, with some of the seed beads and flower sequins.
the radish was fussy cut. Don't you just love the basket weave in kraft?
(I think Frantic Stamper will be overrun after all our posts!)

This tag came stamp colored. All I did was add the GA, and pink dots.

I fussy cut a few of the leftover flowers from this adorable 2 sided dp.

A happy Easter card with more bunnies!

Fussy cut carrots and added those sweet pastel sequins!

This PTI tag was included.

Just had to fussy cut some of the stamped flowers and include them.
Along with that darling bird pin!
So many unique elements made for a happy spring kit!
Would you believe I have more left over?

Loved it all, Michelle, Thank You!!!

Happy Birthday to You

Through some blogging friends, I found a new challenge,
new for me anyway, called Inspired by All the Little Things.

The challenge photo, a bridal bouquet with roses and succulents,
was too good to pass up!

PTI's Delightful Dahlias reminded of the cabbage rose like succulents,
and I let the bouquet shape define my card.
PTI Cover Plate: Pretty Frame
PTI Cardstock: Stampers Select, Aqua Mist, Soft Stone
Embellished Elegance Leaves and sentiment
PTI Inks: Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides, Stormy Sea, Soft Stone,
Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Scarlett Jewel
Thanks to Michele Leone for the sequins and seed beads,
given in her kit for 12 Kits of Occasions posting tomorrow!

Just a Note

MIM this week debuted on Tuesday, with Laurie showing us all
her tricks to making score lines on her projects.

This is my first time using Maile's Splits: Just a Note.
Masked the middle, sponge inked around the design,
and copic colored the flowers.
Added Wink of Stella to the dots, and a few sequins.
Double scored lines around 3 edges.
Kept it simple to hi light the sentiment.

Here's a better look at the lines.

Sew Glad We're Friends

It's blog Hop time at PapertreyInk!
This is our challenge:

Nichole has selected an artist, Izziyana Suhani who works with
paper and embroidery to create stunning results.
We were challenged to create with paper and stitch as well.

I did 3 'stitched' projects.
1st is this tag, a case of one Melissa Phillips did at Christmas
My Etched Egg dies sat dormant all year!

2nd is a card going to my neighbor.

Filled the Basket die with Stitched Eggs, and Easter Grass.

And #3,
Nichole said we didn't have to do stitching, but could use stamps that looked like stitching.

Stitched with Love is one of my PTI favs, with the sweet thread spool
and sewing images.

Stitched leaves from Songbirds

Well that's it for me,
the hop lasts all day, and is full of inspiration.
Can't wait to see what all my blogging friends have created!

A Colorful Easter!

This is Easter week, and our house becomes the hub for our 5 children and
11 grandchildren.
It's a happy time of opening up our home for not just family but
friends too!
The Card Concept, one of my favorite challenges,
gave us this inspiration, and it just reminded me of our nest,
with the 5 eggs!

All of the designers at the Card Concept inspire,
but I'm always drawn to layers and patterns, and perfectly placed images.
Laura Jane's beautiful birthday card, came under Freestyle Collage style,
and because I always love her creations, I went with that one!

This card, together with a coloring book and pencils goes to the granddaughter of a friend,
who will spend Easter in the hospital.

The nest and eggs are Memory Box
PTI: Songbirds stamps and dies
Pretty Frame Die
Quilter's Tag banner die
Flowers and vines from:Paper Clippings: Happy Day
Inks: Winter Wisteria, Stormy Sea, Hibiscus Burst, Fine Linen,
Ranger: Distress Picked Raspberry, Encore: Silver
BG: Stampers Annonymous Woodgrain (huge woodblock rubber stamp)

Sweet Birthday

MIM this week is hosted by Danielle Flanders,
and she masterfully blends her inks over embossing.
You can see the video on Nichole's blog here:

Ink blending allows such rich depth of color.
Danielle makes it even richer with her embossed script stamps.

It's been awhile since I've inked up Nostalgic Notions. I love the vintage feel, and
already had the scallop edge frame cut.
I used this go-to card pattern from Danielle
that came with Stamp-a-Faire 2015.

'Happy' and 'birthday' from One Big Happy.
PTI Inks: Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Pure Poppy, Spring Rain,  Bright Buttercup
I love this technique, know I'll use it often!
