Paper Sweeties July '16 Inspiration Challenge

July 1st means a new challenge at Paper Sweeties,
and just look at the inspiration this month

So many fun elements, and bright red white and blue!

I used Paper Sweeties Mason Jar and it's coordinating dies to
hold my handmade pinwheels.
Some PS sequins and twine finish my card.
Play along for a chance to win a 25. gift certificate,
and to become our guest designer!
Hugs!

12 Kits June '16 Happy Birthday

Tomorrow is July 1st, and today it's time for a 12 Kits Post!
Welcome to a birthday celebration with our hostess, Joyce Mehrberg,
from Cards-by-the-Sea.
Joyce's kit was full of happy. Colorful, crisp images and die cuts
ready to celebrate that special day.
And who doesn't need a large stash of birthday cards?
So settle back and enjoy.
It's 7 cards for me, and I could have done 7 more, with all I had left.

A Sheet of birthdays and happys was included in the kit.
This is the positive image of the sheet, glued in place!

Of course, had to do the negative image over one of the dp's Joyce included.

More balloons, over a bright pink sentiment die cut.

Love this circle of scripted happy wishes from Papertrey!

Another birthday cake, and this stamped sentiment.
The candles were fussy cut from another designer paper.

Included in our kit was this 2 tiered stamped cupcake image from
Impression Obsession and
a bag of sequins. Shaker time!
Pretty Pink Posh double frame.

Last card, with big bold candles.
Be sure to visit the other designers to see what they did, and
thanks to Joyce for a fabulous kit!
My birthday cards are caught up... (for awhile).

Have a wonderful weekend!

Grace to You

MIM's challenge this week is with Ashley,
showing us how to use our stencils with paste to create texture.
She also uses reinkers to add color.
This was so much fun, I had to make a couple of cards!

1st up in pinks and purples.

2nd in aquas and blues.

Stencil used was included in Betsy's Make It Market: Color Pop Butterflies.

Garden Fresh

Good Saturday Morning!
It's Blog Hop time at PTI,
and Nichole has challenged us big time with this dreamy art piece

Inspiration? Yes! But it took me everywhere.
Finally narrowed it down to Garden Medley.
I know, vegetables?
Well just roll with me...

1st card, using the vegetables, and more PTI inks for each stamping
than you care to know. Spritzed each stamp, before stamping.
(Believe me, there's a pile on my work table, not fit to show!)
Bird and branch from Spring Woods.

I had so many vegetables
left over, decided to do a 2nd card.
This time, letting the bg paper dictate colors.

This time, used the word stamp, 'artichoke' included in the set, curving it
the way Melissa Phillips did when the set was released.
Cover Plate: Delightful

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy the hop!
Always so much to see and ideas to case!!!

Before you hop on, a quick look at the Penirs' tomatoes.
This year, I've got quite a crop! Must be the hot weather.
Must remember to be thankful for the heat!

Marvelous

Another card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop,
this time featuring The Ton Stamps.
The Ton is one of the sponsors for the summer hop,
and fortunately my new order included this cup and steamy heart
from Tea Party.
Background stamp is a mega-cling word stamp called Marvelous,
embossed with Ranger's Liquid Platinum.
I saw a card done by Laura Jane with one of their stamps,
and after one visit, it was love!

Bokeh Burst Round is embossed and freehand cut behind the cup.
Absolutely adore this stamp, can't wait to use it again!
PTI cardstock, Striped vellum & Melon Berry.
The Summer hop continues for a few more days, and
the prizes are worth fighting for a place in the 500+ entries!

Cuppa Love

It's time for Coffee Lover's Summer Bloghop.
Tons of wonderful prizes and super sponsors.

Also playing along with Betsy at PTI's MIM, where
she demonstrates Reverse Stenciling.

The brayed stencil gives a wonderful effect and depth to the surface.
Pulled out my Cuppa Love set, and tried for warm summer look to my vintage pyrex cup.
Just love that bold shaped coffee mug!
PTI's stencil: Modern Background Set
Vintage Jadeite, Mint Julep inks, then went over it in
selected spots with Bright Buttercup.
Cup cut from designer paper, with tulip design stamped and fussy cut.
Center stamped with Americana ink,
leaves in Vintage Jadeite, and Pinefeather.
Sweet little tag also from Cuppa Love stamps and dies.

God Bless America

Create Along With Us is our opportunity to be inspired by all
the talent at PapertreyInk during release week.
So much inspiration and creativity, it's always hard to pick
one to 'CASE'.
This month, being close to the 4th of July, I thought Melissa's
beautiful art piece could be adapted to a card for our
Independence Day.

Melissa used the new stamps, and new color being released tomorrow.
I loved her layout of 4 postage stamped images, with a center button.

Red, White and blue instead of the frosty pastels Melissa used, but they fit my theme.
Stamped stars from Simple Stars, on die cut 1 1/2" Limitless Layers Squares.
I stamped the circle in Pure Poppy from Red, White & Blue, and layered it with
the pinked circle from Limitless Layers Circles.
Sentiment white embossed from: Keep It Simple: Bless the USA.
Star Button: A Flair for Buttons.
PTI Inks: Pure Poppy, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, and Americana

Inside, some fireworks from Red, White & Blue.

Thank you for visiting, and happy crafting!

Enjoy Your Summer

Make It Monday this week at PTI has Danielle showing us
a shadowing technique.
Danielle's video and gorgeous card can be seen here:

1st time using the stamps and dies from Bloomin' Cute.
Love the freeform leaves and blooms.
'Enjoy' is also from Bloomin' Cute Sentiments.
I framed the sentiment with Embroidered Frames: Dots.
And the word 'summer' is from Birthday Classics: June.
Nichole posted May's Color Recipes, and I used one of them for this card.
In place of Soft Stone, I used the color Hawaiian Shores.
PTI Inks:
Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening, Amethyst Allure,
Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores.
Amethyst Allure pattern paper pack stripe.
About the shadowing, didn't like the look of using my copic, might have chosen
another color. Or maybe it was that I inked the bg. Anyway, went with my watercolor pencils together with the copics.

Majestic Blooms

The Card Concept's challenge is this dreamy photo:

I  focused on the peony in the teacup, along with the metallic accents.

Stamped the die cuts with fine silver embossing powder, then
stamped the blooms, first on PTI's Sweet Blush card stock, then onto
Berry Sorbet.
there are 3 steps to this bloom, 4 if you count the center, and I used
my misti.
Did the same with the leaves, but watercolored them with a mix of green.
Background is a watercolored blend with Firework's Summer Sky droplets.
(They're iridescent in RL)
PTI's Cover Plate: Delightful frame is a favorite!
Altenew: Sentiment & blooms from Majestic Bloom
I'm calling it a mix of Classy Elegant + Mixed Media (Watercolors & Emboss)

Play along for another couple of days, here,
and be sure to check out the inspiration from the uber talented designers!

Thank you for visiting!
We reached a 104 today, perfect excuse to stay indoors and craft!
