Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge April 2017

It's time for a new challenge at HLS Watercolor Challenge.
And this month is to create a card with the optional twist:
RAINBOW!

It's 'Anything Goes' time, the sky's the limit!
Playing, once again with Ranger's Distress Oxide Inks, and
loving them more and more.
They react with water, and become as intense as you want.
Here's my inspiration for you

And yes, I even watercoloured the bloom with inks,
something I was anxious to try!

12 Kits of Occasions March 2017

It's the last day of March, and that means time for
12 Kits of Occasions!
The fabulous Jeanne Jackna from A Kept Life
sent us a kit that's Out of This World!
Stamps and dies and papers, oh my!
When Jeanne's up at 12 Kits, get ready. She is an
amazingly talented designer, generous, and lovely,
inside and out!
Thank you, dear Jeanne, I had so much fun with so many
images. Each of 8 cards came so quickly, I had to force
myself to quit! And so much left. But that's OK,
lots to play with in the future!
1st up, a shaker!
GA-ed his helmet face, and there's lots of Wink of Stella.

Have A Blast features a rocket with glittery fire.

These 3 space guys are circling earth!

I just love this sentiment with the little green guy.

A Space Needle surrounded by stars.

Got to play with some Finetec Pearl paints for this card.

This spaceman is out for a ride on this sweet rocket!

And finally this space duo flying in to wish a happy birthday.

Thank you again, Jeanne, for a kit that was 'Out of This World!

We have some guest this month too, Richard Breaks, Janis Woolbright, Betty Keefe,
and Katie Mowery. Be sure to stop by and give them some love!

Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop

It's Spring and time for Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop!

I love playing along with fellow coffee lovers.
They're so generous with sweet comments, and come on,
coffee? It's the best!

I made a card using The Ton's stamps and dies.
They're a sponsor for the hop.

Just in time, I received my order from SSS, of Ranger's Distress Oxide Inks.
They are fun believe me! After watching a couple of videos,
and playing with a few colors, I was happy with this background.
White embossed Rose Garden Cling stamp,
then combined Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Spiced Marmalade,
and Fired Brick. The inks blend rather seamlessly, and when you
spritz with water, they become more intense.
I fussy cut the cup from Ton's Tea Party, stamped with PTI's Spring Moss,
white embossed the dots, and masked the cup
so I could apply sponging with selective colors.
Then I added shading with copics W1, & W3.
Before popping up the cup, I stamped the heart steam image
with Fired Brick & Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
'Fabulous' sentiment also die cut, from the Ton.
Lil Inkers Stitched frames.
PTI cardstocks.
Come Play along for a few more days!

Easter Wishes

It's Blog Hop time at PTI, and this month we have inspiration by
artist Victoria Johnson.

I researched her a bit, and was inspired by her bright contrasts
and bold floral prints. Completely enchanting!

My card began with an A2 sized Hawaiian Shores card stock,
and except for the embossed sentiment, all die cuts.

Forget-Me-Not, Spring Woods, Cover Plate: Pretty Frame
Inks: PTI
Sequins: Neat & Tangled

Easter Bunny

Greetings my friends!
I'm so excited to be guesting on the
Inspired By All The Little Things blog this week!

This is our inspiration:

Isn't he grand?
I turned this inspiration into an Easter card,
one with plenty of rustic texture.

The bunny and eggs are from PTI's Bunny Basket.
All the ferns are from PTI's Gathered Garden.
Sentiment also from Bunny Basket.
Paper is made to look like a weave, and I backed it
with a strip of burlap, frayed on all edges.
Did you notice the whiskers and tail?
3 pieces of string and a fuzzy pom.

Hope you get a chance to play along.
I can't wait to see how the photo inspires you!

Happy Crafting!

With Thanks

So excited to get my 1st order from Neat & Tangled,
with their new set, Medallion Flower Builder Stamps and Dies,
and this very cool Polygon Stencil.
Their Challenge #78 was the perfect excuse to ink it all up!

My card is a rainbow inspired medallion flower,
using the leaf shapes to create a blue & green rainbow,
while the flower center, cut from the 3 sizes of circles
and a pinkish rainbow.
The stencil bg is sponge inked with Ranger's new Distress Oxide Inks:
Cracked Pistachio & Broken China, sprinkled with water, then inked splatters.

The generous folks at Neat & Tangled included a package of
irridescent sequins, Lovely Lilac, (I think it's called),
which take on the colors underneath. LOVE!

Easter Blessings

Playing along with The Card Concept, where the inspiration is
rich texture and this photo:

Love peonies, at least I think they're peonies, might
be roses. Have tried to grow them, but we get hot
summers, and cold winters, not a peony's favorite seasons!

The peonies are from PTI: Peonies On Parade, stamps and dies,
watercolored with my Derwent Watercolor Pencils, and
Gansai Tambi watercolors.
The textured bg was created with a woodblock rubber stamp
by Hero Arts called Hydrangeas.
The flowers and leaves were stamped with PTI's Lavender Moon,
Winter Wisteria and Amethyst Allure.
Bottom of the stamp with Hero Arts Wet Cement.
I flicked some paint onto the stamped piece before adding my die cuts.
Sentiment from PTI's Keep It Simple: Easter.
More rich texture with the bottom panel of Echo Park designer paper,
and some washi tape.
Irridescent sequins from Neat & Tangled.
Going with clean and layered, with some mixed media (watercolors)

Hello

MIM, is with Stephanie Gold, one of PTI's new designers.
She expertly shows us a striking technique of creating
window chipboard sentiments.

I did my 'Hello' with some pattern card stock I had,
glued it to a black foam board,
and die cut my window.
So nice to use Ruby Rose, hadn't inked that set in a while.
Did a bit of masking to add leaves and bottom posie.

Inside the card

The card and matching envelope.

I've been doing envelopes from PTI's matching pattern card stock,
and loving how they turn out! A bit sturdier than regular envelopes,
and that way hide the bumps and bling on the cards.

edited to add: the envelope was created by a punch board tool
by We R Memory Keepers. Here's the link on Amazon.
It's a real 'must have' if you like making your own!

Birdhouse

The celebration continues as PTI presents the last of their
new release today. So many new and fabulous sets!
Some time ago, Nichole Heady designed a birdhouse template.
She has challenged us to use it to create a birdhouse of our own.

Before assembling, I stamped my birdhouse with
Backgound Basics: Farm & Barn.
then arranged die cuts from Songbirds around the circle.

I used the Medium Scallop Die to create shingles for my roof.
The base is cut 3 times from Jar Bonnet Collection.
Such a cute idea. I can see doing several for a Spring
Tea Party.
