A Prayer for You

Welcome everyone to Summer and July's HLS Watercolor Challenge!
Is it hot where you are?
We finally broke 100's for 2 weeks!
So not complaining about the 90's!

This month's challenge is an 'Anything Goes' with a twist... Blue!

Watery blue? How about seashells on the beach?

Looks 'cool' to me!

Here's how I did this layered watercolor.

The outside card is 4 x 5 1/4". The top is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4".
I wet the watercolor paper completely and just dabbed on the colors randomly.
On the top card, I left the edges a bit white to stand out against
the bottom card.
Don't mind my dirty work table. It cleans up at the end!

Added a bit of Mr. Huey's Color Mist, Shine and
Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel (Stampendous), to simulate sand.
Stamps and dies: PapertreyInk
Simple Seashells, Inspired: Prayer
I used my tube watercolors this time. Truthfully, the translucence is
unmatched!

12 Kits of Occasions June '17

Hi and welcome to 12 Kits of Occasions June '17!
We're celebrating the fabulous Michele Ferguson, from I Card Everyone,
this month. She's put together a manly kit for us,
called: 'It's a Guy Thing'
Lots of fun images, masculine colors and sassy sayings!

Leading off with a WOW of a sentiment from Avery Elle.
PTI Watercolor Wonders stampset, PPP tag & Cricut EF.

GA'ed the avocado pit to pop it up, then embossed it with
Ranger's gold Embossing Tinsel.

I was so glad to see these MFT Seaside Seagulls in the kit!
Love them to bits!
Paired with MFT's sun and Lil' Inkers frames.

With 6 grandsons, this card will surely come in handy!
Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Background die.

All these sentiments were in the kit. Also the shaker and window card stock.

Love this 'Thanks' die, and think it's perfect for guy or gal.

A better look at the 'Hinged Thanks' from Essentials by Ellen.

Among the treasures Michele included in the kit, was 3 dragonflies perfectly
embossed, and ready to be popped onto a card front.
With a few tweaks to the image (Nuvo copper glitter & Stickles Mercury Glass)
I did my favorite card!
MFT: Wonky Stitched Rectangles, PPP sequins.
PTI Melon Berry Cardstock & Pattern cardstock.

Michele invited Bobby Hogan, (Bits & Pieces), to be our guest this month,
Be sure and visit her blog and give her some love.
Can't wait to see what the teamies did with this fabulous kit!

Hugs, Michele!
Lots left over to play with later!

Garden to Heart

Lizzie once again brings us fabulous ideas to decorate the front
of our cards!
MIM's video was all about building a wreath with our small stamps.

Lizzie used a circle and built her wreath around the shape.
I think I cheated a bit, using the leafy heart from To Have and to Hold.
It was just perfect for the Garden Variety sentiment.
Most of my tiny images are from Strawberry Patch Sentiments.
The twigs are from Make It Market Kit: Market Street.
PTI Inks: Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Prairie Grass,
Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft, Spring Rain.
Spring Moss Pattern Paper, Olive Twist, Stampers Select White
Lots of white space throws me off a bit, so I sponge inked around my
heart wreath with Spring Rain.

Birthday Peonies

PTI's June Blog Hop features this inspiration:

Ombre delight, right?

So many directions to go in, I went the ombre of course,
the transparency, (watercolors), and the sweet blooms with their
 pink/coral hue.

Sponge inked and splattered background, (Aqua Mist & Spring Rain)
Peonies On Parade, 1st white embossed, then watercolored
with Kuretake pan colors.
Love to 'ombre' each petal on the flowers!
Ways to Say Birthday die cut from glitter card stock.
Panel backed with foam dots and adhered to Ombre Stripes Pattern Paper.
So much inspiration on these hops, can't wait to see everyone's take today!

I'm off to church, and home soon to visit and comment!

Enjoy

Good Morning !
My sweet friend, Lindsey Larsen from Occasional Crafting is our guest designer at the Tag You're It Challenge blog this month.

Her sweet tag had me thinking, 'What do I have to honor her tag
with a proper case'?

Within my die binders is this one by Spellbinders.
It's an oldie, and I don't even know if it's available any more. (Ebay?)
It's a Spellbinders Nestabilities die set called Marvelous Squares.
The one word sentiment is a PTI die, Bloomin' Cute Sentiments
I kept it close to Lindsey's tag. Loved her diamond shape and lacy loveliness!
One week left in our challenge.
Come play along here:

Forever Together

Good morning Card Concept fans, and welcome to this gorgeous
romantic inspiration!

Gorgeous, right? I really zoned in on the solid red bouquet.

Perfect chance to play with my new Concord & 9th, Petals & Pallets stamps and dies.
the pallet die allows you to pop it up, or lay it flat. So many options!
And all the blooms and leaves are included in this lovely set!
I first white embossed my sentiment before stamping with Hero Arts, Wet Cement.
The black dots in the flower centers are tiny pearls.
Just a bit of elegance to my Clean and Layered card.

Come play along on the Card Concept Challenge blog.
And be sure to tell us what inspired you!

Happy Summer Birthday

Happy Monday Morning to all!
Lexi Daly shows us some different card making today,
at PapertreyInk.
Using Pantone Chips for inspiration and definitely color
matching too, it's all about using and hi lighting a simple object.

I didn't think I'd like this as much as I did.
But after visiting Lexi's blog and her pinterest board on
Pantone inspiration,I'm hooked!

I needed a card for a brother in law, one who loves growing his own fruit,
so went right to 'Still Life Summer'.
My card needed to be a wider width than an A2 to accommodate the 3 chips,
and after some measurement calculations (which I'm horrible at!),
came up with a 4" x 6 1/4".
My chips are 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" square, as Lexi suggests, with 3/4" x 1 3/4" band
at the bottom for sentiment.
Birthday Classics: June & Happiness in Bloom for the sentiments
I'll be doing a custom envelope for this one, which is OK, when it's
thankfully, hand delivered.

Each color chip was sponged to match the die cut image.
I used PTI inks for all.
Melon Berry & Pale Peony for the peach
Scarlett Jewel & Pure Poppy for the strawberries
Mint Julep & Green Parakeet for the lime.

Great Fun doing this card, and looking forward to
seeing what all of you do!
Stay cool, supposed to get to 110 here today =(

Let the Bliss Begin

Playing along with Inspired by All the Little Things,
and this photo:

It was the perfect opportunity to compose a wedding card
with SSS's June card kit.

The stamp set is called Floral Bliss.
The dp, from Echo Park: Wedding Bliss
I clear embossed the image on PTI's True Black card stock,
and watercolored with Finetec Mica Pearls.
Honestly, LOVE how the colors come alive on dark card stock.
Added a strip of glitter paper, popped the panel up with foam,
stamped the sentiments and buds on a branch, then painted them.
Lastly covered my stamped image before splattering the mica paint.
A wedding card just begs for bling, so rhinestones it is!

I blew up this photo so you can see the mica shinning through the colors,
and the coverage is fantastic!

The colors also blend beautifully on either dark or light surfaces.
As you can see, I'm a fan!

'berry' glad we're friends

Release week at PTI, and we are challenged to 'Create Along With Us',

a happy way to case the designers and their fabulous inspiration.

Nichole did this beautifully simple card, with a new, soon to be released
herb garden set,
and I think showing us one of some new stencils.
I loved her distressed edges, something I haven't done in a while.

Didn't stray from her clean, cas design, with the stenciled circle,
(I created mine with paper and a hole torn out of the middle),
and the sentiment within the hi lighted circle.
And of course those distressed edges I love!

Sending Birthday Wishes

It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.

A wonderful contemporary room is our inspiration.
I used it to make my Clean and Graphic card.

The black and white chairs, with their strong graphic presence inspired
this background.
PTI: Grand Finale (bg), and Painted Petals (flower and sentiment)
Play along for 2 weeks, and don't forget the 6 card styles.

HB2U

Well you can file this one under the, 'Who Knew' dept.
Ashley demonstrates using baby wipes to create her designer paper bg,
in this week's MIM at PapertreyInk.
That's right, BABY WIPES!

Ashley shows a couple of ways to use the wipes. I did a card
for my grandson, using the folded or rolled technique.

The reinkers I used are True Black & Harvest gold.

I kept it simple, letting those free form circles show.
After all, it's going to a 17 year old, who's definitely
more interested in the money inside!
The sentiment is black embossed onto a strip of 1 1/4" vellum.
Enamel dots created with Nuvo. Have you tried Nuvo?
Forms the perfect dot, any size you like.

Initial Sentiments: Birthday
The tiny dots randomly stamps are 3 dots from
Paper Clippings: Done in Love.

Also joining SSS Monday Challenge: Masculine

Enjoy your week!
