Pink Mailbox

Happy New Year!

And just so happy to be back in my craft room.
Had a houseful over the holidays, and enjoyed a trip to Tahoe,
only to come home to my mom very very ill.
So the craft cave was eerily quiet for a while.
Just means I LOVE being back, well, doing what I love!

PTI has been going through some changes lately, but one thing that is the same
is their yearly 'A La Carte', where we can choose from the many wonderful MIM tutorials
and play again with a favorite.

I choose a few to combine, Melissa's Background Stamping, and Laurie's Love of Layers.
Now, truthfully, I'm all about layering, and combining my sets, which just seem to all
play well together.
Hope you enjoy a little crafting too. It just starts the year off great!

Make It Market: Post & Parcel,
Make It Market Mini Kit: Bloom & Grow

Off to visit the craft room.
Valentines will be here before we know!

  1. You do layering so beautifully, Nancy. So pretty. Sorry to hear about your mom, but glad to hear you are back in your room. I have been busy with getting my dad set up with caregivers, so haven't had enough time in my craft room either. But finding time today.

  2. Using the stamp edge die is a great way to showcase the diagonal writing. I definitely want to try that! Your card is lovely.

  4. Awesomeness at its best, Nancy! Love this card! I think we are all dealing with aging parents, my dad is 96 and has early onset Alzheimer's...and still living alone at home! We put up a video camera to be able to watch him in the kitchen and family room! It helps, but is not the best solution...he really should be in assisted living...but I have two brothers that disagree! Happy New Year!!

  8. Happy New Year!!
May this New Year be special in every way ... bringing you the gift of love and excitement.
I will introduce Japanese New Year's customs.
In Japan, there is a New Year holiday where family and relatives get together.
On New Year, Japanese children receive gifts of money known as "Otoshidama".
Otoshidama is given to children by adult relatives such as uncles, aunts and grandparents.
The amount of Otoshidama grows as the child older, for example, 1000 yen for children under 10, and 3000 yen for children over 10.
Otoshidama is one of the exciting traditions of New Year, which children look forward to very much.
    Ryoma.

Sounds like you had a crazy busy holiday, and then the added stress of a sick parent...I sure hope your mom is recovering and doing ok?! My mom is 85 and sometimes I think she is healthier than me!
