12 Kits of Occasions: February

Lindsey Larsen is our hostess this month for the 12 Kits of Occasions,
called 'Faith & Family'.
Let me tell you, our kit was over the top with beautiful florals, die cuts and
sentiments that blessed this kit member's heart!

6 cards were a drop in this kit's bucket. I have so many wonderful left overs to
create more special cards.
Heaven sent... that's what I'd call Lindsey's kit.

A thread of bright spring colors minus yellow, gave the blooms a shock of 'wow'. Leading
my 6 is Concord & 9th's pallet of flowers with the prominent electric blue bloom from
the Stamp Market (Watercolor Bouquet).
Did I mention how the sentiments completely blessed me?

Clearly Besotted Succulents on an already created bg I found in my stash.

Concord & 9th's Lily colored with pencil, and lined with more of the electric blue.

C & 9th's Stuck on You cactus potted and primped on a sunny bg. Don't you love the
sentiment sign?

Lindsey supplied the stamping for these blooms from W Plus 9's Modern Petunias.
The plaid bg is Concord & 9th.

I fell in love with Concord & 9th's Blooms Fill-In, and promptly ordered it!

Like I said, plenty left overs from this kit. Can't wait to play some more with the wonderful
die cuts and papers!

Lindsey, thank you!
So much to see this month. Be sure to make the rounds to all the
12 Kits Designers!
Hugs, and thanks for the visit!

Thanks a Bunch

I look forward to Mondays and PapertreyInk's MIM.
Lots of time to enjoy the video by designer, Betsy Veldman,
and to make a card with her instructions to Mask & Stack.

Searching through my PTI sets for something that could be masked, I came upon the flamingo
in Some Like it Hot Stamp Set Added a few fronds from Tropics Stamp Set, and done.
Sentiment: Concord & 9th's Petals and Pallets.
I looked for 'a bunch' from my stash of PTI sets, and couldn't find that particular sentiment.
Thought it would be the perfect saying for my stack of flamingos.
Plenty of PTI 'thanks' in my collection, but not sure of where 'a bunch' was
Do you know of a set that has, 'a bunch'?
Inks are mostly PTI, Berry Sorbet  Pale Peony, Lovely Lady.
Added a pink from Memento: Angel Pink, and The Ton's Coralline.

Life is What You Bake It

Getting some time in with things I love, and playing along with Laurie
at PTI and Framing Sentiments and Images.

First time using PTI's Life is What You Bake It. Love the image of that sweet sentiment
in the pile of flour!
Frame is Double Ups: Rectangles

Thank you for all your prayers and comments for my mom.
The services are over and my time is suddenly empty and open.
I was blessed with an amazingly talented mom. One who showed me how to be a mom,
and how to show God's grace and love to everyone.
Her gift was the Gift of Helps. No one went without if she knew of a need.
After my dad died she managed their 110 acre ranch; horses, fruit trees and all!
As I always do, I searched the scriptures for comfort, and
God gave me this scripture, after she died,  and I'd like to pass it on to you.

"but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,
who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel. 2 Tim. 1:10.
Thank you Lord. We will see our loved ones again!

Blessings!

Day 10 PTI's Anniversary Celebration: Use Stripes

Hi PTI fans! It's down to the wire to get your projects in,
as the celebration continues to release night.

Day 10 asks us to use stripes.

I used stripes behind my succulent  plant with the Super Succulent Patterned Paper
topped with striped vellum.
Super Succulents stamps & dies.
Square window cut with Noted: Scalloped Square die.

What a wonderful 2 weeks of fabulous inspiration and new releases.
Can't wait to see what you all did with 'stripes'.

You're a Blessing

Day 8 at PTI's Anniversary celebration is a Color Challenge

I used the colors from Heather's gorgeous card, choosing to do a 1 layer card
and color with my Polychromos Pencils.

Stamps: Friends 'Til the End and Pen & Ink
Paper: Kraft & Stamper's Sellect.

Much of my day is spent with my mom, as she is in hospice. The coloring makes the
time pass, and there's such joy in both doing what I love and loving being at
her side.
I thought this card fully expressed how I feel about this wonderful
community of crafters. You're all such a blessing to me!

Hugs, Nancy

Done in Love

Dies only on Day 7 of PTI's Anniversary celebration.
No stamps!

Well that's easy. Went right to my cover plates for Paper Clippings: Done in Love.

This came together quickly, so I did another, using the cover plate
to create a stencil.

Since it's the same die, used 2 ways, and since Darnell has a new 'Two-Fer' challenge,
I'm playing over there too!

Now while both cards could be used for Valentines, one is definitely a Valentine 'Love' card,
while the other is more of congratulations card (dark background)
you give for a job well done. Or it could be an encouragement card.

Keep up the challenges, Darnell. We love them!

Hope your week is a 'crafty' one! The best kind!

Love You

Day 5 of Papertrey's Anniversary celebration asks us to pick from a list
of retiring sets and use them on our cards.
I chose one of favorite sets: Love & Marriage.
It's been my 'go to' set when I make a wedding card. Just love that
lovely tree. And it has so many images and sentiments to create a card
full of well wishes, both for Valentines and for a happy couple.

This card isn't for any couple in particular. I'll save it and have it when needed.
One of the things I love to do is stamp the open heart
from the set and add the initials of the two getting married .

I stamped the tree with platinum powder, and put it over a dotted vellum.
Over it is the Ivy & Bloom die cut with a few of the flowers in the corner.
The sweet little love you tag sentiment is also in the set.

Are you playing along with all the challenges?
Many of the sets that are being retired, I have in my collection.
Looking forward to seeing what you all used on your cards.

PTI Redo: Time Well Spent

I love makeovers!
And that's just what we're asked to do for PTI's new Transformation Tuesday Challenge.
It's rare that I'm completely satisfied with a card. There's always some
tweeking that can improve.

This particular card I 'transformed' was done several years ago, not even good
enough to send, and begging for a makeover.

Pale and uninteresting. And what's with the orange clock???

Have to say, I've learned a bit since this card. So here's it's do over.

Still used the same 2 stamp sets: Hands of Time and World Map
Much more fun to look at.
Map, white embossed and inked with Hawaiian Shores, Blueberry Sky, terra-cotta Tile,
Olive Twist and New Leaf.
Lots of layering and some copper embossing powder, gave my clock face
and sentiment more interest.

I cut the center out 4 times and embossed the top layer. Also
cut the clock hands out twice, once from Indigo and once from Copper Shimmer.

So that's the Re-do. Looking forward to seeing what you all did with this
challenge. Also looking forward to makeovers becoming a regular on the PTI Blog!

You Have My Heart

It's a floral challenge today on PapertreyInk' blog, celebrating their
11th Anniversary.
Mix and match florals on a card. The folks at PTI are definitely hitting
my favorite things buttons!

11 years... WOW! Congrats to team 2018!

A card with a mix of florals, I could do in my sleep.
1st of all, PTI has so many flower sets to choose from,
and 2nd, they most mix beautifully!

Mix & Mat: Hearts die on a Hibiscus Burst card base, has a Pure Poppy shadow behind
the hearts.
Farmer's Market Florals hasn't left my worktable since it hit my front door.
It's mixed with Gran's Garden, Garden Party and Ivy & Bloom on a vellum sentiment strip
from You have My Heart.

Are you playing along with their celebration?
Check it all out on the PTI blog.

CASual Fridays Guest spot

Hi everyone!
I'm excited to be a guest of the fabulous Jeanne Jackna
on CASual Friday's blog, today.

Jeanne allowed me to pick the coffee stamp, and I chose Cup of Coffee,
a wonderfully versatile set which Jeanne and I will use on our cards differently.
The stamp set has a coordinating die set, just my cup of tea (or java!)
Here's my card, and what I made with this fabulous set.

My cup is embossed with another of CASual Fridays' sets called WallFlower.
the die set comes with the 'coffee' script, which I turned vertically to use
as steam coming from the cup.
Background is created with PTI's Horizontal Lines Coverplate, that I made into
a stencil with vellum.

Stop on by the CASual Fridays blog to see this set for yourselves!

Love You

It's such a beautiful day today. Not at all like our winters in the valley.
Plenty of cool, crisp sunshine has me dreaming of my roses' first blooms.

PapertreyInk has a sketch challenge on their blog celebrating their
11th Anniversary!

Each of the team members has a sketch recipe for us to choose from,
and I chose Dawn McVey's.

I loved Dawn's arrangement of flowers and layers on a stenciled
background, and had fun with combining Farmer's Market Florals with
Dawn's own Gran's Garden leaf fronds.

I created the stenciled bg with one of the Modern Background Stencils,
inked with Distress Oxides: Peacock Feathers & Frayed Burlap.
The 'love you' banner is from Stemmed Statements with a sentiment from
You Have My Heart.

Here's a peek at the inside, stamped with images from You Have My Heart.

Sending this card out today, so I did a coordinating envelope, and inked the edges.

Thank you for visiting today, and hope your day is a 'crafty' one!
