The Card Concept: Rustic Fall

Hi and welcome to a new challenge at the Card Concept.
It's the last day of October, and we have this wonderful Rustic
Fall Inspiration for you.

I loved the warm rustic country feel in this photo, and went with the colors and
pumpkins for my Classy Elegant Layered card.

Hope this gives you some inspiration. There's plenty more on the Card Concept's blog.
You're welcome to pick any of the styles on the blog, or combine them or even come up
with a style of your own.
Our challenges are for 2 weeks and I love seeing your takes on the inspiration.

Hope you have a crafty week!

PapertreyInk product links will take you to the item in their store.

Happy Halloween!

A Happy and safe Halloween to all!
It's my turn at the Poppystamps blog today.
Hope you'll pop by to see how I created this card.

Have a Holly Jolly

Hello PTI friends!
If you love playing along with PTI's MIM, you're gonna love this week
with Dawn. She shows us how she created a background on a card
she did by using painted brushstrokes.
Dawn makes it look easy. But have to tell you, it took me several
tries to get something I liked. The brushed cardstock I ended up with
is one I added gold paint to at the end. IRL, I liked it. Photographing
made it look a bit too busy.

One of the things I loved about this technique was the ease making 2 cards.

The white is my favorite of the 2. I cut the word 'Christmas' off the Holly Jolly
Christmas die so it would fit within and on my Tag die.
Lots of greenery from 2 of my favorite Raspberry Suite sets: Gran's Garden and
Holiday Greens. The fabulous bow is from Corner Adorner: October, and 2 cards for Christmas
are done!

A few tips: I stamped my images using a misti so I
could go over them with shading. Then for added color intensity, I stamped again
with versa mark, and sprinkled with clear embossing powder.

Both sentiments were die cut with shimmer cardstock, for a more
holiday feel.

I will definitely use this fun technique again. I'd like to try it
with softer a softer pallet next time. Maybe with pastels.

All items used below will take you to the PTI store.
Happy Crafting, and Happy shopping!

Just look at all those yummy fall colors! Hi everyone! It's time for 12 Kits' monthly
post, and we're coming to you a day early this month, 'cuz you know what
tomorrow is...

Our Hostess with the Mostest is Sharron Gregory from onpapillonwings,
and she sent us this beauty of a fall kit!
I loved every bit! Thank you Sharron!
And although I don't do it often enough, a great big THANK YOU to
our photo engineer Lindsey for making all of us hostesses look good
with our product photo!

Are you ready for some fall fun?

Sharron sent some wonderful papers, and I tried to use some on each card. You can't believe
how many I have left over! All products are listed on the product page on our blog.

Sometimes it's so hard to use the wonderful items sent to us, but just had to combine
the birch tree and fence with a couple of Fall Friends from MFT.

More Fall Friends

Sharron sent this wonderful leaf frame die cut from watercolor cardstock. just had to make
a shaker with it, and some of the gorgeous leaves she also sent!
The 'Thanks' die was embossed with copper ep 3 times.

Last is this pre-stamped tag with a cup of cider. Hard to see, but after
coloring, I GA-ed the apple.

Well that's it from me for this month. Hope you enjoyed all the fall themed
cards. Don't forget to visit all the 12 Kits Designers. We love your comments!

Joy

Hi there! I'm playing along with PTI and their new challenge,
Transformation Tuesday. This week it's Lexi who challenges us
with a seasonal card she transforms into a holiday card.

I chose a card I made with an autumn theme, and transformed it
into a Christmas card.

Using the same bg stamp and frame die, but changed up the elements,
my card became one for the holidays.

I cut my frame from silver glitter paper, stamped the bg Text Leaves with Vintage Jadeite
 and silver ink.
The bottom swag was made with Corner Adorner and some leaves from Vintage Linens.
Can you see the chunky glitter? A bit hard to photograph.
Getting in under the wire with my transformed card!

For You

A very quick post, super late with MIM this week.
Just couldn't pass up Michelle Leone's 'Banner-ific' tutorial!
Her banner is darling, such a great idea using our dies.

My banner is for a daughter celebrating a birthday soon.
Get your banner done soon, challenge ends Sunday!

PTI Blog Hop October '18

It's the 25th of the month and that means PTI's Blog Hop
We have this Autumn beauty to inspire us this month,
and be warned, this post is photo heavy! Hope you have a cuppa handy!

So much to choose from in our inspiration this month!
And so many ideas came to me, I decided to do, well, just about
all of them!

I couldn't wait to play with Betsy's Dashing Through the Snow Pick-up!
She added the picket fence to one of her posts, and I know Marcia Hill did one similar.
Once you do one, the rest come easy, and assembly line was a breeze!
I found the jelly pumpkins at Home Goods, but couldn't bear putting them
in the truck beds without the bags!
Warning No. 2: Be sure to buy enough for snacking!

Each of the 6 pickups get a notecard and matching envelope. The notecard is stamped
with BB: Gingham, and Smoky Shadow ink, and the medallion with versa mark,
white embossed and colored with pencil, rather like the chalkboard in the
photo. All the products I used are listed below.

Do you have a favorite? Kinda partial to the Ocean Tides. Reminds me of my mom's old pickup.

Inside the notecard.

Made my square envelopes with an oldie pattern pack PTI used to sell called,
Autumn Abundance. I love making my own envelopes, and it's so easy with
a We R Memory Keepers Punch Board (Amazon).

My little trucks lined up and ready to give to the grandkids!

Play along all day on the PTI blog. You're sure to get a truck load of inspiration!

Card Concept 100th Post Celebration!

Hello! And welcome to my post today.
The Card Concept is celebrating it's 100th post and challenge,
and we are bringing you double inspiration!

Each of us has invited a special guest to our celebration.
My guest designer is someone you all probably know, Marcia Hill from
Marcia's Stampin' Pad.

Here's my card:

As you know, we at the Card Concept follow design styles, or combine them, or even
create a style of our own.
I combined a few this week, calling my card 'layered elegant'.
A little touch of gold in the sentiment, adds a bit of elegance to any card,
and I was inspired by the gold on the pumpkins in the inspiration photo.

Can't wait to see how you are inspired and hope you'll play along this week!
Be sure to visit Marcia's blog and give her some love!

Have a great week, and Happy Crafting!

Like a certain stamp or die I used?
They are all PapertreyInk, and my links will take you to their store.

Poppystamps Challenge Reminder

Hi there, Poppy Peeps! This is a reminder that there's a challenge going on
at Poppystamps.
Fall and Scary Things!
Check it out and play for a chance to win a 25. gift certificate to the store!

I made some treat bags for inspiration. You know Halloween is right
around the corner!

I loved Halloween Costume Cats ever since their release last year. So darn cute!
Paired them up with a die from this year, Leafy Wreath Collage.

Each of my tags got a different colored tag behind the cutout (and to write on), and a
clothespin covered in washi.

Check out the Poppystamps blog to see exactly how I made them.

And remember, we have a Blog Blitz going on. Comment for a chance to win!

Create Along With Us October

It's time for PapertreyInk's 'Create Along With Us'.
There were so many wonder filled projects and cards this month.
I just drooled over every set released!
Heather's card and envelope set really caught my eye.

I loved the way she used the new Pleasing Envelopes Stamp set, stamping all
around the card, and framing her beautiful sentiment.
The matching envelope was cut from watercolor paper, and is every bit as lovely
as the card!

I didn't stray far from her design. Even using kraft as my card base, and die cutting the front
of my card with the Medium Scallop Stackers die.

I used a We R Memory Keepers punch board to make my envelope. I've done so
many of these, it's second nature now, and they always take card making up a notch!

Stamp sets used below. They are a direct link to the PTI store.

The sentiment is from Make It Market: Don't Forget to Write, but
I couldn't find it in the lineup. Afraid it might be gone. Maybe you have it?

Hope you have a great week, and hope it's full of crafting!

Comment every day, and you have a better chance. The dies are
fabulous this season. I'm showcasing Deco Cecil Frame.

Another of the new die is this stag head, pure love die cut from red glitter cs.

Each of my 10 tags were cut twice, once in gold glitter cardstock and again in
light blue shimmer.

I explain in detail the tag box you see above on the poppystamps blog. So easy, and
all set for gift giving. (Or just might keep these, I love how they look on my craft table!)

Thanks for visiting!

A Blessed Season

Ashley has us creating patterned frames for our cards, this week, on Make It Monday.
Her card was so beautiful on several levels. Her colors were dramatic, and the
layers were definitely speaking to me.
So those 2 inspirations were my starting point.

My patterned frame was made with plaid builders on Pale Peony cardstock.
Behind that is Scallop Stackers Small. When that is cut, it leaves the center
whole, or in my case solid red. I opened it up with the oval from Scalloped
A2 Die Collection, almost a perfect opening cut.
Seasonal Borders: Winter formed my swag. The many pieces in the set
allow for all kinds of design. I can't wait to make a wreath with the holly
and berries!

Sentiment: Penned Elegance Christmas.
