12 Kits of Occasions: April

Let's Hear It For the Grad!

Welcome to April's 12 Kits of Occasions post!!!
We have a special kit from a special person, Kara Pogreba
I met Kara at a craft retreat last year and fell in love with her
talents and sweet personality!

Here's what I made with her kit

Leading off with a spinner. An AI Chair Spinner!
Well, people our age have reasons to celebrate too!
Here's the back

So fun to color.

Next up, a couple of W+9 Going Places balloons

This one will go to a grandson graduating from pre-school this year.
Hard to see but touched up with a bit of Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer.

Those are Lawn Fawn cookies, and couldn't resist capping the elephant.

Kara gave us the tassel, and the great gold embossed sentiment. Easy to add the flat
sequins and create a shaker.

The silhouettes were included. Every bit of this card was included. What a fun
grad card!

This one says it all. Congrats!

Thanks to Kara for helping me get ready for graduation time. 6 cards and
plenty left over. Hope you got some inspiration for the grads in your life.
All products are listed on our post page. Be sure and make the rounds and
give some love to my teammies.

Have a great week! And thanks for the visit!

For You

Today I have a card for Laurie's Fabulous Favorites, PTI's Challenge.

Laurie's challenge was to create a shaped card. The shape I used for my. card is
PTI's Book Cover Die. The coordinating stamp set, Book Cover Detail, provides
the sweet corners and swirl to ground the vase of flowers.

I borrowed the spine treatment with the ribbon from a card Amy Scheffer did when
the Book Cover die was released. You can see Amy's card here:

CALLING ALL BIBLIOPHILES

The Book Cover die set comes with pocket die which I added to the inside of my
card, along with a few more Botanical Bounty blooms to match the outside.

Here's a list of the products I used:

A Lovely Birthday

Good Monday Morning!
I'm playing along with Win It Wednesday, Laurie's Fabulous Favorites.
This week Laurie challenges us to use our favorite coloring techniques.
I've chosen a couple for my birthday card.

Ink stenciling is a favorite for a subtle background.
And above all others, watercolor. So relaxing, and always a delight to
see where the water will take the color.

The leaves were shaded with copics, another favorite.
Getting this one under the wire.
Hope your week is full of crafty goodness!

The Flower Challenge: Sketch

Greetings flower lovers!
I'm once again playing along with The Flower Challenge. This time it's a sketch challenge.

Here's the card I made

I had such fun making this card and here's why... most of the card elements were
already made!

I stamped the background with Poppystamps: Flower Garden in many colors
and had this panel stamped in yellow ready for a card.
The black trellis is from Altenew's Layered Plaid Cover Die A, and cut
selectively to look like a trellis. This is was also in my stash.
Poppystamps: Garden Poppy Stitched Frame, is the sweet little frame with
the 2 poppies,
and the large flower and sprig are from Flora & Fauna, called Happy Flowers.
The large flower was black embossed and colored with Polychromos pencils.
The sprig was black stamped, then GAed for shine.
The other 2 smaller flowers are Poppystamps Little Kindness, also colored with
pencils.

Love that sentiment from Flora & Fauna's Happy Flowers!
I didn't do a good joy photographing the Glossy Accents, which I put
in the centers of each flower.

This photo is a bit better.

The Flower Challenge closes on the 25th.
Thanks for visiting! Hope your week is off to a crafty start!

2 Easter Cards, One stamp

I have a couple of cards made with a background stamp by the Stamp Market. The
company is new to me, but I'm sure everyone else has heard of and seen their
wonderful stamps. This one is called Floral Background.

The first is embossed with Nuvo's Shimmering Pearl powder, and inked with Ranger's
Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade ink.

Creative Expressions', Easter Bunny Egg die set really does all the work, with the
sentiment die cut into the trim. I colored a bit of the flora with Metallic Accents
watercolors by Art Philosophy. Stem and pink flowers from Altenew's Rose Flurries
3D Die set.

2nd card, again stamped with Versamark and embossed with Stampendous Aged
Bronze Enamel. Totally different look. The die cut roses are Altenew 3D roses.
Cut with color cardstock, they add elegance to any card!

Well, that's it sharing a new to me stamp, Floral Background.

I'm entering the bunny egg cared in JUGS Trend Week challenge: Off The Edge

and the rose card in Fusion's challenge"
I followed the sketch side.

Thanks for the visit, and hope your Easter week is filled with blessings!

He Is Risen

Hi there! I'm playing along with PTI and Laurie's Fabulous Favorites,
where she challenges us to use our favorite style this week.

Creating Layered Lovelies is my favorite thing to do!

For the background I stenciled one of the Modern Background Stencils
with Distress Oxide Inks. Humming Along is the stampset.
I also stamped a few extra leaves around the
petunia on the bottom. Layers and layer illusion. Love it all!
The rest are stamped diecuts. Some are popped up with foam.

The sentiment is from Easter Alleluias, one of my favorites for this
time of year. When placed in the Misti, it's easy to give it an ombre look.

Lastly, I added some diamonds Stickles to the inside of the flowers.

Play along with Laurie on the PTI blog.
