12 Kits of Occasions: Crafty Friends Are The Best

Hello and welcome to the 12 Kits of Occasions, February post.
The fabulous Jeanne Jackna is our hostess this month. Her kit was full of projects
for friendship, especially our crafty friends! I loved every bit, thank you Jeanne!
Here's what I made:

Sweet Pure Innocence from MFT inspired this card. Jeanne supplied all the elements
with the exception of the easel (PTI: You're a Masterpiece). I had way too much fun
painting the mini landscape!

These paintbrushes from Waffle Flower are the cutest. Just had to combine
them on a pallet (Poppystamps) and frame them.

In our kits were all these wonderfully colorful and artsy designer papers.
I couldn't resist using as many as I could. This sweet little frame from Hero Arts
was perfect to frame one of the flowers.

I used several of the papers in the kit for this collage. Not a stamped image on this card.

These Crafty Critters are enjoying the day with each other.

Jeanne included these die cut wood stamps (C9), along with the foil scissors and b/w
designer paper. I had the Concord & 9th stamped paper already done, and created my
card around it. It's one their Turnabout series (Crafty Turnabout). I just made my ink
pads to match. The sentiment is from the same set.

And finally, this Reverse Confetti tag, came with the window popped out. Just
perfect for a flower stamp, also from Reverse Confetti, called Floral Gem.

I have several elements left over for more crafty goodness.
Can't wait to use them!

Thanks for the visit, and if you have some time, what'd you think? Did
you like a particular card? Mine has to be the first one, with the PI doll
painting her masterpiece. That was just too fun to do. I forgot to mention
I used puff paint on the clouds and mountains.

So hard to see, but irl the texture's there, and looks like wet paint.

Jeanne's invited 5 guests! Be sure to visit them and leave some love!

A Banner of Thanks

During the holidays, Altenew sent me a lovely thank you card along with a stamp set
called Best Sentiments. With the card and stamps came the challenge to create with
the stamps and post the creation on social media. Couldn't resist making this banner
card using images from several Altenew sets.

It's been a long time since I've made a long ways card (is there a better word?) and I
wanted to use all the sentiments in the set.

Can't get enough of using the Greetery's amazing die cut bow. It seems to add
a lovely touch to every card I make.

Stamps used: All Altenew
Garden Treasure
Bamboo Rose
Majestic Bloom
Coffee Love
Beautiful Day
Build a Flower Rose

Still putting Christmas away... seems to take longer each year!

Hugs!

GD for the Flower Challenge

It's December and the holidays are here!
I have the most exciting news, and a card or 2...
I'm guest designing for the Flower Challenge!

Now the challenge this month is to use a die, and I've chosen Altenew's Festive Poinsettia
die. This card is a watercolor.

I kept thinking how dramatic it would look on black cardstock, so I did another with
my metallics.

Hope you like it, and hope you all get a chance to play along!

The Card Concept Challenge:

Hi and welcome to a new challenge at the Card Concept.

Now the title to this challenge is Adventure Awaits. But I was inspired
by the tones and neutrals in the photo. Closer inspection gave me a
sense of vintage warmth and lots of vintage texture.
Here's my card:

Creating a card with a bit of vintage texture and warmth, I chose the Greetery's
Bountiful Wreath, and the sentiment from Bountiful Wreath.
I was late acquiring this gorgeous stamp set, and have drooled over every
card I've seen made with it. Finally it was back in stock and I
couldn't wait to use it!

The frame is from PTI's Infinity Frames, versamarked and covered with copper
emboss.
One more loves to share... Altenew Inks. This is a set called Coffee Break. It
includes: Sand Dunes, Rocky Shore, Mocha & Expresso. Neutral but with
warm tones, just yummy! And the way the inks cover the surface of a stamp,
well, I'm a fan.

Hope you have a chance to play along. I love seeing all the ways the
challenge inspires you.

Happy Crafting!

Praying

I have a post today for the Altenew Card Challenge, this month inspired by this photo
and colors.

All stamps and dies, Altenew, with the main bloom from Best Buds.
Best Buds is a line stamp, no color filler stamp at all. Perfect for me
who loves to color. I started with copics and added some pencil for
definition.

The Mid-Century Frame die is new to me and it's cut twice from shimmer card stock.
Kinda reminds me of an Autumn sunset.
The leaves and flowers are from Beautiful day, stamped with Altenew's Sand Dunes,
Rocky Shore and Mocha Inks.
Sentiment: Bamboo Rose

The Challenge ends soon. Check out all the deets on the Altenew Blog.

Have a great hopefully, crafty week!

The Card Concept: Beautiful Butterflies

The Card Concept's back!
Hi friends, and welcome back to the Card Concept's Card Challenge
It's a challenge that gives you styles to create the perfect card. And if
those styles aren't just right, combine them, or create one of your own!
Our styles are listed here:

I have some inspiration for you

I went with a Clean and Layered card, with a bit of Classy Elegance too. See how
combining your styles is just fine? Rather monochromatic, rather dramatic (with the
black). Have fun with your choice of styles, but don't be confined! We'd love to see
what style you create with, and what butterflies are in your stash.

The Butterfly Love is the brainchild of Concord and 9th. I used their 'thingamajig' (yes
it's a real tool) and stamped 4 times to cover the background. All Inks Altenew.
Banner: C9's Everyday Bouquet.

Grab your favorite butterfly stamp (or 2 or 3) and join the fun!
Our challenges are 2 weeks and we'd love to see what inspired you.
Happy Crafting!

You

Hello! Hope you're enjoying summer's end, and are looking forward to cooler
weather. I know I am!

I'm playing along with a couple of challenges, Altenew's August Inspiration Challenge

and, The Flower Challenge, Use your Favorite Flower.

My favorite flower at the moment is a new plant added to my yard,
Midnight Rose Hibiscus.

I have seen hibiscus before, but never this size or color. When I brought home the plant
(I bought 3) it was about 2' high and had a couple of bud groupings.

Honestly, would you ever believe these buds would open into such a
magnificent bloom? 1st bloom measured 9".

So for today (only today, I'm fickle with favorites!) my favorite flower is the Hibiscus.

Altenew's  Hibiscus Garden 3D was all cut from white cardstock, and Copic colored.
I tried to keep as close to my Midnight Rose as possible. The die set comes with the greens
you see pictured here, and the smaller bloom I colored in purples to mimic the
Allysum planted in the pots with the Hibiscus.
The background started out with an A2 sized card, white, covered with
Altenew's watercolor washi. I added sprays and white paint droplets, then
cut the card with MFT's Wonky Stitched Rectangle.

'You' from PTI's Bold Borders: Arabesque. I doubled the diecut with gold for a little
glam.

The Hibiscus flower has gorgeous textured veins. I tried to add that look by streaking
my die cut with the Copic pens.

Altenew asks us, 'how were you inspired by the photo?'
Just about everything from the photo inspired me! Colors, soft fadeout greens, water
droplets... and May gave us a beautiful watercolor tutorial too!

2 challenges, one card. Love it when that happens!

Have a blessed week!

Fresh For You

Just finished another week of grands, before they start school. 3 under the age of 10 and
3 in their teens. It's been nonstop, from morning 'till night.
But today was goodby in the morning, and time to play in the craft cave! Yay!
It's my first time to play with Betsy's mason jar, and sunflower dies. I wasn't able to
get the jar on release night, and Betsy let me know when it was restocked, so I
couldn't wait to order it! I've just drooled over each and every card
all of you have done!

The sunflowers all began cut from white cardstock and Copic colored. I LOVE how full of
dimension they become when layered together!
Next came the much waited for jar... what color to make my mason jar?

The jar is a 3 step process of stamping, and I decided to try to give my new treasure an
inking from 3 different companies, PTI, Catherine Pooler and Altenew.
I also left off the firststep on a few to create a clearer jar in each color way.
It's a great way to spend an afternoon,
just a favorite stamp set, a misti, and colorful inks! (you can't see it, but each color is
listed on the back of each stamped jar). I also drew in a few stems with colored pencils.
The jar is actually the brighter pink in the first picture.

The sunflowers closeup, and you can see all the layers, and color possibilities.
Blue sunflowers? Why not!

Have to say, the new Crimped Frame die is a favorite. I made my background paper
from Poppystamps: Picnic Plaid, an all over stamp.
It helps to have a juicy ink pad for all over
coverage. The pink is CP It's A Girl, and the greens are CP Melon Ice and
Altenew Limeaid.

With the exception of laundry, I have no other plans for the rest of the day~ Bliss!

Tag You're It Challenge: Bookmarks

There's a new challenge up on the Tag You're It Blog today, and we are challenged to
create a tag that's a bookmark.

All 3 tags MFT and covered with Altenew Washi.
This one stamped with PTI's Bibliophile.
Floral Image: Altenew's Daisy Sunflower.
PTI's Berry Summer

A sweet little reminder of the joy of reading!

I covered this bookmark with Altenew's Washi then added a vellum die cut
with the word 'Books' from PTI's Bibliophile. The floral swag is a fussy cut
from the flower Washi added to card stock.

Again a Washi covered tag with the Greetery's Fleur Impressions and PTI's Summer
Berries.
Hope you play along with this theme of bookmarks. You don't have to do 3. Or you
can do 6. Have fun and I can't wait to see what you come up with.
