Card Concept 100th Post Celebration!

Hello! And welcome to my post today.
The Card Concept is celebrating it's 100th post and challenge,
and we are bringing you double inspiration!

Each of us has invited a special guest to our celebration.
My guest designer is someone you all probably know, Marcia Hill from
Marcia's Stampin' Pad.

Here's my card:

As you know, we at the Card Concept follow design styles, or combine them, or even
create a style of our own.
I combined a few this week, calling my card 'layered elegant'.
A little touch of gold in the sentiment, adds a bit of elegance to any card,
and I was inspired by the gold on the pumpkins in the inspiration photo.

Can't wait to see how you are inspired and hope you'll play along this week!
Be sure to visit Marcia's blog and give her some love!

Have a great week, and Happy Crafting!

Like a certain stamp or die I used?
They are all PapertreyInk, and my links will take you to their store.

Two-fer Card Challenge: Leaves

It's time again for a Two-fer Challenge: Leaves!

Honestly, what's better than one card for a challenge? 2, of course!
Love playing along with Darnell and the talented crew at the Two-fer blog!

2 cards, 2 different occasions, 1 image used 2 ways.

Concord and 9th's Thankful Leaves dies provided the window for my shaker.
Lindy's Stamp Gang Autumn Mix powders
Thankful Leaves Turnabout: Sentiment (C9)
That's copper embossing powder embossed onto heat resistant acetate.

And my 2nd card is a birthday card.

The 2nd card also used the leaf die from C9, but this time with the veins in place.
Glittered by adding packing tape to the back of the die and pressing glitter onto the top of
the die.
The pattern paper was a leftover piece made with C9's Turnabout, with some added
copic coloring. I embossed the tips of the leaves, and the stamped panel with
copper embossing powder. Also copper embossed the sentiment (PTI's Initial Thoughts)

You have until Sept. 24 to play along, and there's lots on inspiration
from the team.

Have a wonderful week of crafty goodness!

So Very Thankful

Greetings C9 fans!
Playing along with their latest challenge:

A Color Challenge!

I had so much fun playing with C9's new set Thankful Leaves Turnabout.
Are you familiar with their turnabout stamps? Using a misti or other stamping device, you
stamp the aligned image and turning the stamped cardstock, stamp again, and
again, achieving an all over pattern.
My first stamping was with versa mark and bronze embossing powder.
Next came Catherine Pooler's Sauna Ink, followed by the Ton's Peach Blossom.
Finally the 4th stamping was with PTI's Melon Berry.

The leaf, (Thankful Leaves dies) was cut with it's skeleton image in place, embossed
several times with colors from Lindy's Stamp Gang,
Mermaid Seashells Set, and finally on the stem with bronze ep.
(Lindy's Midnight Copper)
I cut the leaf again, minus the veins, with vellum, and sponge inked the back, then,
clear embossed it.

The sentiment and several others come with the Turnabout set.

Thanks for the visit, and Happy Crafting!

Thankful for You

It's time for another MIM at PTI, and I don't know how she did it,
but after a smashing Stamp-A-Faire, Lexi came up with a technique
with some bling for all of us who love to play along!
Thank you Lexi, always enjoy your tips!

Lexi calls it 'Glitter Inlays'. Loved playing with my Martha Stewart glitters. Way back
when I started card making, Michaels had the set of multiple colors half off. Couldn't
resist that! The color I used for my Leaf Silhouette dies is Copper.
Background stamped with Text & Texture: Leaves
Frame: Double Up: Rectangles

Give Thanks

Good Monday Morning, hope your week is off to a crafty start.

Playing along with Color Throwdown, and these colors.
Decided to give them a leafy look like the photo, and chose PTI's
Bold Borders: Foliage as a starting point.

I sponge inked a few Catherine Pooler inks onto watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and ran my brush through the colors to blend a bit before cutting out my image.
Also cut my image 4 times with aqua mist to build it up more like a frame.

Sentiment: New Every Morning (PTI)

Birthday Wreath

Hi there, I'm playing along with Concord and 9th, where 'Anything Goes'.

I just love C9, and their new release was wonderful. This is one of their new sets,
So Happy For You, that I paired with Floral Hoop Dies.

Play along for a few more days (it ends the 26th).

Sending (Cool!) Hugs

Hello, Poppy fans! I'm bringing you a post today on the Poppy Stamps blog.
Stop on by and see how I made this 'cool' fall card. (Hopefully it will cool

Grateful

Hi! Glad you stopped by for a visit today. I recently ordered a new set by C9,
called, Grateful For Everything. Couldn't wait to play with it!

I'm playing along with Just Us Girls, where the challenge is Fast Watercolors.
I love all things watercolor, but this was a new one for me. We were directed on
the JUGs challenge to watch Jennifer McGuire's video on youtube. She made
making your watercolor card quick and easy.

Lots of quick inking, spritzing, fussy cutting and some Lindy's Starburst:
Marigold Yellow Orange spray.

Check out Jennifer's video here:  Jennifer McGuire's Fast Watercolors

Have a great day, hope it's full of crafting!

Happy Fall: Create Along With Us

This week at PTI we get to Create Along with their fabulous designers.
It's release week and the cards and projects are amazing! Full of rich new fall
stamps and dies, and as usual, wonderful new ideas.

Michelle Leone's card caught my eye.

One of the newest dies to be released is this one Michelle featured called,
Frame It Out Many Blessings.
Michelle did a few things on her card I cased.

My card uses Shape Shifters Oval 1, and like Michelle, I fussy cut the design to create a
window for my sentiment.
I absolutely love Stitched Florals, with the multi-stamping.
My flowers are from Mum's the Word, and so  is the fall sentiment.
For the added color of Harvest Gold, I water colored the die cut, let it dry, and
then stamp the mum in Honey Nut. That color combo is so Fall-esque!
I tried to keep the rest of Michelle's color scheme, with the exception of the leaves.
Mine are Olive Twist.

Play along all week on the PTI blog. So much inspiration to see!
Happy Crafting!

The Card Concept, Autumn Love

Time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.

You could go in so many directions with this inspiration.
Take a Look at my Clean and Layered card.

I first picked the owls and used PTI's Polka Dot Parade #11, and Leaf Prints.
Up in the corner I stamped Autumn Adornments, using the rich fall colors of the photo.
I stamped the sentiment, then stamped it again on the Made With Love tag from PTI.
Gave my owl some vellum wings, and sprinkled some orange sequins around.
Hope you get a chance to play. We'd love to see what inspires you!
Our winner gets to be a guest in the future.

Thanks for visiting, and see you in the lineup!

Give Thanks

The theme is Sentiment Windows at PTI's MIM with Dawn McVey.
She shows us how to cut and embellish a view into our cards.

I cut my window with Brushed Off: Oval (the smaller die), after adding Simply Chartruese
Pattern Pack's plaid and vellum to the front of my card.
2 images were stamped in the window, one with a sentiment, the other full of corn.
Kind of Corny.
Here's a look on the inside

First stamped the sentiment corn, with Orange Zest & Terra-cotta Tile, masked it,
and did the stamping with the corn kernel image.
Happy Thanksgiving was stamped with Americana, which was also the base color
for the kernel corn.

I think depending on the season, if you asked me 'what's your favorite autumn set,'
Leaf Prints has to be at the top. Gorgeous shaped leaves and veins, perfect for ombre stamping,
and included is this sweet stamp to add to the back of my card, ready for my signature.

PTI twine, and button (Vintage Button Mix)

I love seeing what everyone creates each Monday, using these video tutorials.
I've learned so much over the years, from the talented designers and from
all of you too.
Thank you Dawn! And thanks to all of you!
Happy Crafting!

HLS October Watercolor Challenge: Optional Gold!

Hi everyone! It's October 1st and time for another HLS Watercolor Challenge!
This time, with an optional twist... Gold.

Watercolor + Gold = yes please!

My die cut grand leaf is from PapertreyInk, and is called Enclosed: Leaf.
From watercolor paper I cut the leaf, and wet painted with my pan watercolors. Then gold embossed the 2nd or top rim and sentiment with gold embossing powder.
The panel is Wonky Stitched from My Favorite Things.
The leaf veins were first stamped and then spritzed with water.
Sequins from Buttons Galore and More.

Play along all month for a $20. gc at Happy Little Stampers!

See you in the lineup!

PTI September '17 Blog Hop

Good Morning! It's the 25th, and that means time for PTI's September Blog Hop!
Nichole gave us this piece of art for inspiration.

I played with the Brushed off die, fitting my sentiment in the window.
Here's the 1st of 3 cards.

Year of the Psalms: August, Nesting, Ivy & Bloom, and one sprig of Beautiful Berries: Autumn.
The sentiment was 1st embossed with Ivory ep, and then copic colored.

Another card for fall. Beautiful Berries: Autumn, and Year of the Psalms: August.
Twig Wreath and some sprigs from Autumn Pumpkins.

Brushed Off: Rectangle

And one more, a Christmas card

This time with Brushed Off: Oval.
I cut some of the fir dies from Beautiful Berries: Winter, for windows.
I LOVE the Psalm series! And love the windows to showcase them!
Year of the Psalms: September
Off to hop along with all of you!

Have a great day!
