The Card Concept: Elegant Holiday

Happy Holidays to you! Hope you're managing well, and are enjoying all the
beauty of season.
The Card Concept has a new challenge,

this elegant silvery photo called: Elegant Holiday.
So many possibilities went through my mind, but I settled on  PTI's
gorgeous Paper Clippings die set, and silver glitter paper.

I really glammed up the die cuts, and added layers of subtle color on a piece of Yupo paper
with Ranger's Alcohol Inks in Moss and silver.
Classy & Elegant, with layers is what I'd call it.
Hope you can find some time to play along. It's a 2 week challenge and we
love to see how you are inspired.

Happy Crafting and Happy, Happy Holidays!

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Make It Monday this week is revisiting one of my favorites, Laurie Schmidlin's
'Love of Layers'.
Laurie shares several ways to add to a cards rich layering.
I played with Betsy's new 'Fairy Tale Christmas', and the stencils that match
the set.

Betsy thought of so many details. From the stencils to popping up the die cuts, layering
is easy. The layer of snowy stencil was done with Nuvo Glimmer Paste.
Just may mass produce this one, it's so much fun to play with all the layers!
Hope you're doing well with your Christmas card stash. Enjoy your week!

Day 13 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Day 13 at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, features Technique Tuesday.
Woe is me! I lack their product. But fell in love with this sweet cup of
peppermint cheer from Teri Anderson,

Cheery greetings picked up with some PTI products,

complete with frothy peppermint!

On to Day 14!

The Card Concept: Homestyle Holiday

Hi! It's Holiday time on the Card Concept challenge blog!

We have a rustic, homestyle holiday photo this time
to inspire us, and I was drawn to the folksy warmth and sparkle of the
Christmas tree.

I love creating layers for a scene, and stenciling Nuvo's glitter paste on PTI's dark navy
cardstock was the perfect start for my layered and mixed media card.
In the Meadow die (snowy hills) embossed with Stampendous: Shabby Blue Embossing powder.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 12

It's Day 12 for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, and the host today
is Pretty Pink Posh.
I used Jeanne Jackna's darling tag shown here, as my muse,

and used the tag's shape, and double cuties with a shaker.

Day 4 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Back with Day 4 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags.
Today Tracey's featuring Reverse Confetti, and I was
inspired by Jeanne Jackna's bright and colorful tag,

Jeanne's project are always standouts, lots of clear bright color, and
unmatched layered design.

Here's my tag, using Reverse Confetti's layered tag.

Stayed with Jeanne's pink and lilac inked bg, and added Essentials by Ellen's
Laurel Wreath dies. PTI: Corner Adorner October bow.

Day 3 25 Days of Christmas Tags

It's day 3 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags, and the inspiration  just keeps
coming. Today Concord and 9th are the sponsors, and I decided
to use Tenia's tag as my muse.

Here's Tenia's tag:

I love the gold rings, non traditional pink and green, shape of the tag,
well, honestly loved the whole thing!

So here's mine:

Didn't stray far from the tree rings (sorry...) with my tag.
Used the same C9 Tree Ring stamp on PTI's Quilted tag. Even added a bit of
washi in the bottom right hand corner. Did add the tree and sentiment from
C9's Christmas Cottage.

Day 1 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi and welcome to Day 1 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

I know... I posted Day 2 first. This tag, inspired by
Simon Says Stamps' Shari Carroll's GORGEOUS tag
took a bit longer  (drying time).
Take a look at Shari's tag,

Layers of loveliness everywhere!!! And you know I love layers.

And here's my tag,

Shari has a video showing in detail how she made her tag, lots of mixed media,
layers of paper, and my favorite, topped with starry acetate.

I had no acetate with print, so I made my own with heat resistant acetate, and
snowflakes from PTI's Silver White Winters.

You can see the silver embossing in this photo.
The strip under PTI's Wet Paint Holiday die is something from my stash
from Martha Stewart.

Are you playing along on Tracey's blog? Lots of sponsors with LOTS
of prizes!

Day 1 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hi everyone! It's more of '25 Days of Christmas Tags',
the brain child of my friend Tracey McNeely.
Lots of inspiration and lots of prizes!
Day 2 and I'm using Tracey's tag as my muse.
Altenew is her guest and sponsor.

And here's my tag

I used a stamp from Penny Black, called Berry Speckled, and a tag from PTI (#10),
and sentiment from Altenew's Halftone Holiday.

Have a Holly Jolly

Hello PTI friends!
If you love playing along with PTI's MIM, you're gonna love this week
with Dawn. She shows us how she created a background on a card
she did by using painted brushstrokes.
Dawn makes it look easy. But have to tell you, it took me several
tries to get something I liked. The brushed cardstock I ended up with
is one I added gold paint to at the end. IRL, I liked it. Photographing
made it look a bit too busy.

One of the things I loved about this technique was the ease making 2 cards.

The white is my favorite of the 2. I cut the word 'Christmas' off the Holly Jolly
Christmas die so it would fit within and on my Tag die.
Lots of greenery from 2 of my favorite Raspberry Suite sets: Gran's Garden and
Holiday Greens. The fabulous bow is from Corner Adorner: October, and 2 cards for Christmas
are done!

A few tips: I stamped my images using a misti so I
could go over them with shading. Then for added color intensity, I stamped again
with versa mark, and sprinkled with clear embossing powder.

Both sentiments were die cut with shimmer cardstock, for a more
holiday feel.

I will definitely use this fun technique again. I'd like to try it
with softer a softer pallet next time. Maybe with pastels.

All items used below will take you to the PTI store.
Happy Crafting, and Happy shopping!

Create Along With Us October

It's time for PapertreyInk's 'Create Along With Us'.
There were so many wonder filled projects and cards this month.
I just drooled over every set released!
Heather's card and envelope set really caught my eye.

I loved the way she used the new Pleasing Envelopes Stamp set, stamping all
around the card, and framing her beautiful sentiment.
The matching envelope was cut from watercolor paper, and is every bit as lovely
as the card!

I didn't stray far from her design. Even using kraft as my card base, and die cutting the front
of my card with the Medium Scallop Stackers die.

I used a We R Memory Keepers punch board to make my envelope. I've done so
many of these, it's second nature now, and they always take card making up a notch!

Stamp sets used below. They are a direct link to the PTI store.

The sentiment is from Make It Market: Don't Forget to Write, but
I couldn't find it in the lineup. Afraid it might be gone. Maybe you have it?

Hope you have a great week, and hope it's full of crafting!

It's Blog Blitz time at Poppystamps!
Head on over to the blog and comment for a chance to win!
Comment every day, and you have a better chance. The dies are
fabulous this season. I'm showcasing Deco Cecil Frame.

Another of the new die is this stag head, pure love die cut from red glitter cs.

Each of my 10 tags were cut twice, once in gold glitter cardstock and again in
light blue shimmer.

I explain in detail the tag box you see above on the poppystamps blog. So easy, and
all set for gift giving. (Or just might keep these, I love how they look on my craft table!)

Thanks for visiting!
