Galoshes Galore! The Card Concept

Galoshes Galore is the theme for the newest Card Concept Challenge.

And here's some more inspiration for you,

As you can see, I was inspired by the pink polka dot rain boots. My stamps and dies are from
Paper Sweeties called Sweet Cuts | Showering You With Love
The talented Debbie Marcinkiewicz gave me my first designing gig, and I will
always be grateful to her. Aren't those boots adorable? They are on sale in the
Paper Sweeties shop, and the stamp comes with the dots ready to color. I used
copics in several shades of pink. Click on the post item and it'll take you to
the store and the sale.

The Kraft bg is stenciled with PTI's Woodgrain stencil. Mix & Mat Postal and
Bitty Bouquet stamp and die are also from PTI.
We love seeing how you're inspired. Pick a style, and Join us on the Card Concept Blog.

Thanks for the visit! And Happy Crafting!

The fun florals are from My Favorite Things: Stitch Blooms & Wild Greenery.
Thank You Banner was a free gift from MFT, and is hand cut.
Lots of pretty jewels from Lucy's Cards (Rainbow Sparkle Mix).

Plenty of time to join the Zoo Challenge!

Wishing You a Joyous Easter

Playing with Altenew's gorgeous floral stamps, 'Wallpaper Art', and my
copics, I created an Easter card. Included in my order was the Layered Plaid
Cover A & B dies. I truly hated to cover the plaid die cuts up with anything,
but couldn't resist Eastery pastels with rosey copper Nuvo embossing powder
over the plaid.
The top plaid cover die is a lavender pink shimmer cardstock I've
had squirreled away forever!

I found a sentiment from PTI's Etched Eggs, and copper embossed that
as well. The tiny posies are from Altenew's Build A Flower: Poppy.

When I chose my copics I made sure they were full color, that is, 02, 04, and so forth.
The pastels pop a bit more with full hue.

Hope your weekend is full of fun and crafty goodness!
Working on more Easter cards I can't wait to share!

His Promises are Forever

Wednesdays are becoming my favorite day of the week. Papertrey's
new lineup of contests are so much fun and offer a bevy of prizes
for playing along.

Laurie wants us to choose one of our favorite dies to create with,
and I love her comparison to trying to choose a favorite child. But, like
I said before, it is possible to narrow it down to a few hundred. (Maybe!)

If you'll pardon a little life story, I'm in the northern part of my state (CA), caring for
grandchildren (3) while daughter and Son-in-Law are on a cruise. With me are the
bare minimum crafting supplies I knew I would need for the next 3 weeks. And among
them is one of my PTI 'Plates' binders'. (Notice I said, 'one of my plates binders').
Coverplate: Marquee was among those plates. It is a frame I can't use enough
to encircle sentiments, florals, and just about any special image.

The frame comes with die cuts that hi light the swirls and
the center piece. I added foam to the frame itself, as well as the
swirls and little piece, which really makes your image a standout.
Below is a list of the the products I used, the links take you to the PTI
store. And I think everything is still on sale.

Card Concept: Rainbow Cupcakes

I have a fun card for you today. The super yummy challenge at the Card Concept is
'Rainbow Cupcakes', and that had me searching through my stash of stamps of
cupcake images.

The very 1st layer was created with Ranger Distress Oxide Inks.
On top of that is a Hero Arts Confetti die cut from black card stock.
I found the perfect cupcake images in Clearly Besotted: Tasty Treats
stamps and dies. (fussy cut the plate stand.
And the flag and sentiments are from Concord and 9th's
Birthday

Hope you play along. So many ways to go with the photo inspiration!

Happy Crafting!

Card Concept Challenge: Sunflower Serenade

Hello! It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept, and we have
this gorgeous inspiration photo for you!

Sunflower Serenade!
The huge sunflowers definitely inspired my card. This time I combined
watercolors, ink stenciling, and some layers with die cuts and fussy cutting.
I call it, 'Layered Mixed Media'.
Did you know you can mix the styles? A list of them is on
the Card Concept challenge blog.

My sunflower comes from Deep Red, and is called: Large Sunflower.
PTI: Window Works Die, Hexagon Stencil, and Forest Floor Autumn.
The Card Concept is a 2 week challenge. I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

PTI SAF '18 Watering Our Flowers

It's Stamp-A-Faire time at PapertreyInk, and I've set aside the day to
watch live videos and play along at home.

1st card done, is with Betsy Veldman, and Watering my Flowers.
Of course that's a nod to watercoloring, and Betsy  is a master at
technique. Watch her video on PTI's blog for insight and instruction.

Playing with PTI stamps I already have. This one's the poppy from Stemmed
Statements. Single flower was first stamped, then masked, and stamped
twice again. I've used my own pan watercolors, purchased years ago, most are
Windsor Newton.
Sentiment: You Made My Day

One down, several to go! Check back often if you'd like to see more.
SAF is throughout the day, and you have until the 30th to complete projects.

Happy Crafting!

Thank You Teacher

Good Thursday morning!
I finally found a few moments to myself to make a card for this week's
MIM with Melissa: Ink Blending on Colored Cardstock.

I've been on grandma duty for the week. SIL has been promoted and family will soon be
moving to So Cal. It's been a busy week!
3 children, 3 lunches, to and from different schools, practice, gymnastics,
 and one with a cold.
Was it this busy raising my own? How quickly it's all behind.
But... new memories to make, love to give, and receive... and for some reason
I seem to have endless patience, (thank God!). Anyway,
Back to the card...

Melissa's video was to use colored cardstock, emboss our image and ink blend over
the versamarked image.

While going through my PTI stamps and dies, I came across Betsy's sweet apple
from the What the Doodle series. Using pretty much Melissa's card layout, the rest was easy.
The card will go to one of the grandkids' teachers. School will be ending soon.
Not sure where the year has gone!
Hope I didn't bore you too much. It's so nice to be in the craft room, even for a
short while!

I've listed the PapertreyInk supplies used. If you click the ones you like
it takes you to the item in the store. Happy shopping!

A Blessing in my Life

Hello everyone!  It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.
Here's our inspiration, called 'Blossoms in Blue'.

Oh so feminine!
And some Layered inspiration from me:

I used PTI's Stitched Garden and Gathered Garden blooms and greens over a panel of
Stenciled dots.

Come play along for 2 weeks, and pick one of our styles or combine the styles.

Happy Crafting!

Simple Stitched Stems with Michelle Leone

This week's MIM at PapertreyInk features Michelle Leone, and her very first
video tutorial, Simple Stitched Stems.
Michelle's addition of a bit of handwork gives a personal touch to a card.

Some of you know I lost my mom in February. I know many other special moms, including
daughters, daughters In Law, aunts and friend-moms to give a MD card to.
My stitched stems were made easy with a PTI die set called Stitching Lines.

Bigger Blooms supplied my flowers and Shape Shifters: Oval provided the frame and leaves for
my posies.

I loved doing a bit of sewing on my card, and did one more while the stamps and dies
were handy.

For these leaves, I used my copics. I made the dots with Viva Glass Effect Gel in Blackberry.

PapertreyInk cardstock, stamps and dies

If you like any of these items, just click from the list and it will take you
directly to the PTI product.
