New Every Morning

Hi everyone!
This week's Make it Monday is with Dawn McVey, who show's us how to layer
images over patterns. Say the word, 'layer', and I love it!
Dawn demonstrated her layering magic with 3 bg inks, which gives the image a
different look each time.

Once your stamps are in place in the Misti, it really is easy to do 3 cards.
1st off is this one with snow ink and and Dawn's Cover Up: Hexagons stamp.
I used Dawn's Raspberry Suite sets, combining the floral sets with Cup of Cheer,
a Christmas set I gave a seasonless look to with Gran's Garden & Garden Party.

2nd card's Hexagon stamped with Cocoa Bean.
The tag and card bases were cut from Noted Pinked A2 Vertical Dies.
To give my cup and coffee pot some dimension, I edged them with copics,
G40 & G43, almost a perfect match to Vintage Jadeite.

And the 3rd card inked with a Versa Magic ink called Pumpkin Spice.

Have fun playing along on PTI's blog where you'll find Dawn's video.

All stamps used are from PapertreyInk and if you click on the ones you
like, it'll take you directly to the PTI store.

Inchies with MIM

What fun this was, from start to finish.
Lexi shows us a technique called, 'inchies', and with her fabulous tips
I made this card.

She demonstrated how to create bg interest in the 1 inch strips before stamping the image.
She used small images, and I did too, but not on all the squares. She used sides and corners,
not just the centers to do the stamping. Loved how she popped
up the cubes with foam. And I have enough extras to do another card!

Play along on PTI's blog through Sunday!

PTI Products will take you directly to the PTI store for purchase.

Sleigh Bells Ring

Laurie Schmidlin from PapertreyInk has the spotlight this week with her MIM
tutorial: creating layers on our cards.
Loved it from start to finish. Gave me the nod to create all the lovely layers I want!

Beginning with an Ocean Tides and Pinefeather color scheme, I cased Michelle Phillips'
card using Mix & Mat Plaid, where she edge embossed the corners, as though kissed by snow.
Stampendous Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel has flecks of white, gold and aqua.

The Dash Away All stamp and die set haven't left my table since they arrived.
I love how the deer seems to take flight no matter where I use him!
Peaceful Pinecones and a big red bow with lots of foam,  just as Laurie instructed,
gives the card my Love of Layers.

Photo Card for MIM

MIM this week is with Ashley, and she is reminding us of a previous tutorial
she did with stamping on our cards.
I don't send photo cards as an empty nester, but I thought it would be fun
to do it with last year's photo of early Christmas morning and 8 of the 11, posing
for grandma. Sheer torture before opening presents!

From left: Reagan - 11, (holding Jack), Carson -16, Noelle - 6, Little Eli - 2, Shepherd - 5,
Garrett - 13, Ana - 12, and Nate - 11.
3 blessings haven't arrived yet, and are MIA from the photo!
Stamped Beautiful Berries: Winter and added a double die cut of Big Basics:
Merry Christmas, from glitter paper
I have pictures in front of the fireplace each year of the grandkids and plan to do
more and line them up for all to see.

Thanks, Ashley!

Give Thanks

The theme is Sentiment Windows at PTI's MIM with Dawn McVey.
She shows us how to cut and embellish a view into our cards.

I cut my window with Brushed Off: Oval (the smaller die), after adding Simply Chartruese
Pattern Pack's plaid and vellum to the front of my card.
2 images were stamped in the window, one with a sentiment, the other full of corn.
Kind of Corny.
Here's a look on the inside

First stamped the sentiment corn, with Orange Zest & Terra-cotta Tile, masked it,
and did the stamping with the corn kernel image.
Happy Thanksgiving was stamped with Americana, which was also the base color
for the kernel corn.

I think depending on the season, if you asked me 'what's your favorite autumn set,'
Leaf Prints has to be at the top. Gorgeous shaped leaves and veins, perfect for ombre stamping,
and included is this sweet stamp to add to the back of my card, ready for my signature.

PTI twine, and button (Vintage Button Mix)

I love seeing what everyone creates each Monday, using these video tutorials.
I've learned so much over the years, from the talented designers and from
all of you too.
Thank you Dawn! And thanks to all of you!
Happy Crafting!

For You

Make It Mondays are always a treat at PTI!
This week Laurie shows us 3 ways of color blocking our cards.
I'm working on a series of felt ornaments for the grandkid's Christmas trees,
and had this felt car ornament ready.
Just perfect for a color block card front!

A simple bg was what was needed for my felt car. Lifted it up a bit
in front to follow the grade.

The car is attached to the card front with a velcro disc.
A while back I bought a roll of these discs so I could attach blending
sponges on the backs of my ink pads. (Thank you Jeanne Jackna!)
So handy when your ink sponging a background.
The car/ornament stays in place until little hands peel it off
to put on a tree.

Garden to Heart

Lizzie once again brings us fabulous ideas to decorate the front
of our cards!
MIM's video was all about building a wreath with our small stamps.

Lizzie used a circle and built her wreath around the shape.
I think I cheated a bit, using the leafy heart from To Have and to Hold.
It was just perfect for the Garden Variety sentiment.
Most of my tiny images are from Strawberry Patch Sentiments.
The twigs are from Make It Market Kit: Market Street.
PTI Inks: Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Prairie Grass,
Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft, Spring Rain.
Spring Moss Pattern Paper, Olive Twist, Stampers Select White
Lots of white space throws me off a bit, so I sponge inked around my
heart wreath with Spring Rain.

With Love

Make It Monday this week, with Melissa Phillips and
Masked Heart Wreaths.
Melissa's video can be seen on Nichole's blog, here:

Melissa suggests other shapes to use as a mask, but
love the heart shape for my birthday message, and masked with Limitless Layers: Heart.

Love this simple way to showcase a sentiment!
Plan to do several more using this mask technique.
I cut my mask from copy paper, and when I touched up a few flower
centers, it bled a bit.
Afterwards I remembered Melissa used the heart center
she had left over, and it was card stock. Always follow the instructor!

All the blooms and leaves from the following:
Mini Booms, Bloomin' Cute, & Make It Market: Garden Gild.
Inks: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Berry Sorbet, Pale Peony, & Prairie Grass.
Noted: A1 Die
Pale Peony Cardstock.

Trio of Fall Cards

Ashley's video shows us 3 ways to use our pumpkin stamps
on Nichole's blog for Make It Monday.
Traditional, unique and trendy.
I opted for a trio of A1 size autumn note cards.
This fall, I'm determined to send out almost as many cards as
I will for Christmas.
So many folks I need to send some love to!
Besides, I love the fall season, and LOVE making
Fall cards!
1st up, Traditional

All cards on a Soft Stone Noted: Scalloped A1 die card base.
Friendship Jar Shaker
All pumpkins from: Friendship Jar Fall Fillers.
Heart: Tremendous Tags.
Sequins: Shakers & Sprinkles
(tiny stars from Michaels)
Cardstocks: PTI

My Unique card is not a favorite.
I went for a fall wreath with the pumpkin die cuts and PTI pattern paper,
and added Autumn Acorns, twine and a few sequins.

And 3rd, Trendy

Using an unusual color for the pumpkins.

Just a simple little thank you card, with lavender pumpkins.
Stitched leaves from Songbirds.

Friendship Jar Fall Fillers has so many images, including
the sweet sentiment: 'thankful for you'. (Tiny Tag die)

Hope you get a chance to play along,
love seeing what all you creative people do with the challenges!
Enjoy your week!

MIM #185: Faux Stained Glass

Make It Mondays are my favorite time of the week!
Especially when you wake up to find you won
the random pick from the previous week!
Yaaaaay!
This week features a stained glass look with Betsy Veldman and
her super talented fingers. (That's all of her we get to see,
but it's enough cuz all her creative sparks shine through!)

Santa's Sleigh was begging to be inked. Loved the sweet images the moment
I saw them!
The copics really do streak to look like stained glass!
And as Betsy advises, go for the dark shades, so they show.
Snowflake Medley stamps and dies, 1st stamped and then clear embossed.
Pattern paper from Betsy's Make It Market Tinsel & Tags.

Popped up with foam so that the glitter shakes (wish I added more snow!).

I tell ya, Mondays are the best!

MIM #178: Easel Cards

MIM (that's Make It Monday folks),
with Erin Lincoln and easel cards.
So easy and fun!
Thank you Erin,
love this new take on chalkboard cards!

My chicks have all flown, but I love adapting the Back to School idea
for a greeting.

Very simple, sweet friend card,
using stamp sets Ooopsie Daisy and Be Happy.
Die cut easel feet with Mat Stack 3.
Love the thought of sending friends a 'hi there, thinking of you' card!

Thanks Erin!

MIM #175 Creative Card Borders

Danielle's video shows us how to create a border with non-border dies.
Well, I had an idea to use the Rustic Wreath to create my border,
but it took most of the afternoon to get what I wanted,
but I didn't.
Sometimes things are just OK, and I'll post it anyway,
but I need to try this again (need to!).
