Tag You're It: Reminder

Hi friends! I just love making tags, don't you?

I have a reminder tag for the current Tag You're It Challenge.

I started with the PPP Decorative Tag 2, and backed it with the Stamp Market's
Floral Background. No sentiment yet. Definitely going on a feminine gift for
someone special.

When the doors are open you see more of the floral bg. The tag is decorated with PTI's
Humming Along.

Are you playing along?
Hope to see your creations in the lineup!
And hope you have an extra crafty week!

12 Kits of Occasions Party in the Park February '19

Welcome to February's 12 Kits' Post! I'm excited because this month I'm the hostess,
with a kit to celebrate the hope of spring... and a 'Party in the Park'. Outdoors,
friends and family and plenty of sunshine!
LOTS of cards, so let's get started...

1st off is a piƱata from Pretty Pink Posh. Love the fact that you can go crazy with color.
He's hanging on a frame from PTI: Shape Shifters Square. The paper wasn't quite
bright enough, so touched up a bit with matching copics.
All this month's kits' supplies are on the 12 Kits blog, by the way.

The paper dictated this card's elements. Fussy cut flowers and a big 'hooray' from Spellbinders.
Color on the PTI shapeshifters die courtesy of Magicals.

A look back when carousels were in the center of fine parks. Used my metallic
watercolors for the seahorse, and colored the waves with copics.

Echo Park provided the balloon paper, PTI the frame and ballon shaker.

This carousel unicorn in pink is perfect for a girl's birthday!

The rose papers were included, and I combined them for this 'celebrate' card. One rose
paper for the background, and one fussy cut to surround the sentiment.

My favorite is this window tag I included in the kit, (PPP) with Altenew roses.
When you open the shutters, the words 'happy birthday to you' are inside from
one of the double sided papers.

Lastly, I included this little present bearing otter from Lawn Fawn.
Not sure if he belongs in a 'park', but I just loved him, and
had to pass the die cut on to my 12 Kits friends. After all, isn't he celebrating?

That's it from me. I hope you enjoyed February's kit. I loved gathering a bit of
Spring to share with my friends and all of you friends too.
Be sure to visit all of the designers on the blog. I can't wait to see what they've done
with the kit!

The Card Concept: Pink Party

Welcome back to the Card Concept Challenge!
Hope your holidays were full and jolly. If they were anything like mine,
they were busy. So glad to be back in the craft saddle, and happy to be
bringing you inspiration for 'Pink Party'.

Our photo this week could be inspiration for color, items on the table,
or the contrast of pinks and black and white.
What inspires you?
Here's what I came up with:

The pink peonies inspired my Clean and Elegant with a bit of layering card.

The Ton's Dearest Peony centrally stamped, and colored with copics, then cut
with PTI's Pierced Frames: Oval, are the main elements to my card.
Just a bit of gold Stickles and a few gold sequins complete.
I really wanted to emphasize all that bright white in the photo.

All right, now it's your turn. Can't wait to see how you are inspired!
Don't forget to pick one of the styles, or come up with one of your own!

Happy Crafting!

Day 16: 25 Days of Christmas Tags

Welcome  to my post for Day 16 of 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

My tag today is inspired by Emily Midgett's beautiful Nuvo Glimmered tag.

This was so much fun applying the Nuvo Glimmer paste to the tag, and I love the
overall glittered effect.

A Merry Little Christmas

Create Along With Us and Melissa Phillips' beautiful creation:

Kept the layout of her card with those sweet elements peeking out
from the oval die. Just loved how she stamped images on the oval.

Create Along With Us October

It's time for PapertreyInk's 'Create Along With Us'.
There were so many wonder filled projects and cards this month.
I just drooled over every set released!
Heather's card and envelope set really caught my eye.

I loved the way she used the new Pleasing Envelopes Stamp set, stamping all
around the card, and framing her beautiful sentiment.
The matching envelope was cut from watercolor paper, and is every bit as lovely
as the card!

I didn't stray far from her design. Even using kraft as my card base, and die cutting the front
of my card with the Medium Scallop Stackers die.

I used a We R Memory Keepers punch board to make my envelope. I've done so
many of these, it's second nature now, and they always take card making up a notch!

Stamp sets used below. They are a direct link to the PTI store.

The sentiment is from Make It Market: Don't Forget to Write, but
I couldn't find it in the lineup. Afraid it might be gone. Maybe you have it?

Hope you have a great week, and hope it's full of crafting!

Gather With A Grateful Heart

Hello, and thank you for visiting! I have a post today for MIM's challenge
featuring Laurie Schmidlin and Faux Gilded Leaves.

My DH and I are visiting our daughter, and I brought some supplies to play with
while away. Fortunately Leaf Prints was one of the sets I brought along.
Laurie mixed her embossing powders to create a gilded look on her leaves. So
much fun, I can't wait to do this again!

Forest Floor: August had this cool shaped banner, and I loved the sentiment,
and the darling acorns, so they got some gilding too.

Text and Texture: Leaves and Pierced Rectangle Frames.
The powders I used are from a set I've had, of course with no names on them.
The iridescent aqua looks so good with the copper, I love using them together.
Then there's the gold and a touch of silver, just pure richness!

Laurie, thank you! Your card and tutorial were fabulous!

Have fun, and play along on the PTI blog.

Create Along Wit Us: September Release

Hi PTI Peeps! It's Create Along With Us time, a chance to look carefully
at technique, color and of course, the fabulous new stamps and dies being
released this month, by the designers.

I loved the colors Laurie used on this beauty.

Her leaves against an aqua bg was my starting point.

Now I love all the Bold Borders Lizzie's inventive mind has created, but until I have it,
Cover Plate: Winter Floral has some of the fronds I was looking to watercolor.
I LOVED the added chunky glitter on her card, so I glittered the flowers and little acorns.
Not nearly the wow effect Laurie's card had,
so I put a few sequins on the center.

MIM with Michelle: Petite Pattern Play

Michelle Leone shows us how to create pattern in our background on this
Monday's tutorial at PTI.

I loved this easy and quick way to make an impact on our cards.
Out came the new Orchid Expressions. I played with the flowers, changing
the colors of the petals. The options are endless!

I think I used every shade of PTI ink! Really easy to stamp with my Misti.

In case you don't know this little trick, here's a way to stamp a bunch of the same images
quickly and perfectly.
Die cut the image.
Place it back into the cut cardstock, held in place with your misti magnets.
Line up your stamp,
And... stamp! Replace with next die cut, and the image is stamped perfectly,
over and over and over.

This was my favorite orchid color combo. First stamped with Orchid Allure,
then Raspberry Fizz. The blend of the 2 inks made this gorgeous plum on the die cut.

A left over piece from Pierced Feature Frames provided the rectangle
and I drew the inside lines with a pencil.

The butterfly from Quilted: Summer reminded me of a mini block print,
and lined up well within my masked off rectangle.

So quick and easy, I did a 2nd card using kraft, and the 'thank you' setntiment.

Such a fun technique! Can't wait to 'plant' more orchids!

Friends, I'm sure you've heard of the horrific fires here in California.
They say 20% of our state is on fire. Our home is in a valley near Yosemite, where
one fire is close and hardly contained.
Our air is so bad, and the heat doesn't help those poor firefighters.
Please pray for containment, relief from the spread of more destruction,
and especially for those heroes on the front lines.
Thank you!

Happy Summer!

With summer in full bloom, and with some summery die cuts from Marybeth Lopez's
fun summer kit, (do you follow 12 Kits of Occasions? Here's a link:
do another summer card and play along with Stephanie. She's
our hostess for this week's MIM, 'Creating Mixed Background Texture'

Pretty much stayed with Stephanie's layout, stamped images on top, die cut texture on bottom,
and die cuts going up the side with sentiment tag tucked in.

Hope your summer's going well, and you're surviving the heat. We are looking forward
to cooler days and autumn breezes. Ahhhh, can't wait! But for now 100+ every day...
Great excuse to stay inside and craft!

Isn't pink just the cutest color for a surfboard?
