The Card Concept: Pink Party

Welcome back to the Card Concept Challenge!
Hope your holidays were full and jolly. If they were anything like mine,
they were busy. So glad to be back in the craft saddle, and happy to be
bringing you inspiration for 'Pink Party'.

Our photo this week could be inspiration for color, items on the table,
or the contrast of pinks and black and white.
What inspires you?
Here's what I came up with:

The pink peonies inspired my Clean and Elegant with a bit of layering card.

The Ton's Dearest Peony centrally stamped, and colored with copics, then cut
with PTI's Pierced Frames: Oval, are the main elements to my card.
Just a bit of gold Stickles and a few gold sequins complete.
I really wanted to emphasize all that bright white in the photo.

All right, now it's your turn. Can't wait to see how you are inspired!
Don't forget to pick one of the styles, or come up with one of your own!

Happy Crafting!

12 Kits of Occasions: February

Lindsey Larsen is our hostess this month for the 12 Kits of Occasions,
called 'Faith & Family'.
Let me tell you, our kit was over the top with beautiful florals, die cuts and
sentiments that blessed this kit member's heart!

6 cards were a drop in this kit's bucket. I have so many wonderful left overs to
create more special cards.
Heaven sent... that's what I'd call Lindsey's kit.

A thread of bright spring colors minus yellow, gave the blooms a shock of 'wow'. Leading
my 6 is Concord & 9th's pallet of flowers with the prominent electric blue bloom from
the Stamp Market (Watercolor Bouquet).
Did I mention how the sentiments completely blessed me?

Clearly Besotted Succulents on an already created bg I found in my stash.

Concord & 9th's Lily colored with pencil, and lined with more of the electric blue.

C & 9th's Stuck on You cactus potted and primped on a sunny bg. Don't you love the
sentiment sign?

Lindsey supplied the stamping for these blooms from W Plus 9's Modern Petunias.
The plaid bg is Concord & 9th.

I fell in love with Concord & 9th's Blooms Fill-In, and promptly ordered it!

Like I said, plenty left overs from this kit. Can't wait to play some more with the wonderful
die cuts and papers!

Lindsey, thank you!
So much to see this month. Be sure to make the rounds to all the
12 Kits Designers!
Hugs, and thanks for the visit!

Thanks a Bunch

I look forward to Mondays and PapertreyInk's MIM.
Lots of time to enjoy the video by designer, Betsy Veldman,
and to make a card with her instructions to Mask & Stack.

Searching through my PTI sets for something that could be masked, I came upon the flamingo
in Some Like it Hot Stamp Set Added a few fronds from Tropics Stamp Set, and done.
Sentiment: Concord & 9th's Petals and Pallets.
I looked for 'a bunch' from my stash of PTI sets, and couldn't find that particular sentiment.
Thought it would be the perfect saying for my stack of flamingos.
Plenty of PTI 'thanks' in my collection, but not sure of where 'a bunch' was
Do you know of a set that has, 'a bunch'?
Inks are mostly PTI, Berry Sorbet  Pale Peony, Lovely Lady.
Added a pink from Memento: Angel Pink, and The Ton's Coralline.

Fabulous

Hi Card Concept fans! Welcome to a new inspiration.

I'm all about the gorgeous intense blooms in this photo.
Added a bit of blue from the boots, and the green grass,
but my 'Classy Elegant' card is filled with bright Spring flowers.

I love the intensity of watercolors with Kuretake pan colors.
First step was to ink The Ton's Peony Crush Cling Background, with
Versamark onto watercolor card stock, and sprinkle the whole card with
Adirondack Lettuce Embossing Powder.
Watercoloring came next. I started with the lighter, paler pink, and when
dry, worked on adding darker, deeper shades, finally ending with the purple.
This technique works as long as you let each layer dry before
adding the next.

'Fabulous' die cut 3 times, with white and Pure Poppy in the middle,
also from the Ton.

A sprinkling of Pink Diamond sequins, also from the Ton,
to add a bit of sparkle.

Framed with PTI's Royal Velvet, and Sweet Blush card stocks.

So excited to see what you create!
And don't forget to check out more beautiful inspiration

Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop

It's Spring and time for Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop!

I love playing along with fellow coffee lovers.
They're so generous with sweet comments, and come on,
coffee? It's the best!

I made a card using The Ton's stamps and dies.
They're a sponsor for the hop.

Just in time, I received my order from SSS, of Ranger's Distress Oxide Inks.
They are fun believe me! After watching a couple of videos,
and playing with a few colors, I was happy with this background.
White embossed Rose Garden Cling stamp,
then combined Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Spiced Marmalade,
and Fired Brick. The inks blend rather seamlessly, and when you
spritz with water, they become more intense.
I fussy cut the cup from Ton's Tea Party, stamped with PTI's Spring Moss,
white embossed the dots, and masked the cup
so I could apply sponging with selective colors.
Then I added shading with copics W1, & W3.
Before popping up the cup, I stamped the heart steam image
with Fired Brick & Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
'Fabulous' sentiment also die cut, from the Ton.
Lil Inkers Stitched frames.
PTI cardstocks.
Come Play along for a few more days!

NBUS: Sending Thanks

Well, I managed to do another NBUS card, one with a stamp from The Ton,
Sending Peonies. The beautiful corner stamp I've used, but not
this small single stamp.

With the worst lighting possible, I snapped this card with a flash.
Just had to try this technique one more time. and know, I'll be
doing it again.

Frame: PTI's Cover Plate: Scroll Frame
Thanks Darnell!

Marvelous

Another card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop,
this time featuring The Ton Stamps.
The Ton is one of the sponsors for the summer hop,
and fortunately my new order included this cup and steamy heart
from Tea Party.
Background stamp is a mega-cling word stamp called Marvelous,
embossed with Ranger's Liquid Platinum.
I saw a card done by Laura Jane with one of their stamps,
and after one visit, it was love!

Bokeh Burst Round is embossed and freehand cut behind the cup.
Absolutely adore this stamp, can't wait to use it again!
PTI cardstock, Striped vellum & Melon Berry.
The Summer hop continues for a few more days, and
the prizes are worth fighting for a place in the 500+ entries!

Playing along with the Card Concept,
where the challenge is to use one of their styles, and this inspiration:

We didn't have to use purple, but I loved the picture's fresh spring hues,
so I went with the lilac colors.

Ranger: Liquid Platinum Embossing powder.
Zig Clean Color watercolor pens
WM sequins

going with Mixed Media because of the watercolors for my style.
