Happy Easter

I've had my Greetery order on my desk for days, and finally had time this past
weekend to play with Betsy's Botanicuts: Lily. If you're not familiar with the Botanicuts, it's a series of assembly dies that create a bloom. Welcome, Lily!

My husband blessed me with a Valentine bouquet that had lilies and roses, and the
colors on the lilies were spectacular.

I wanted to try to capture the watercolor effect plus the amazing colors on each petal.

Mimicing God's creation is impossible, but we can come close with the right tools.
The pieces were 1st cut with Poppystamps' Open Studio new watercolor paper.
It boasts a delicate finish, useful for mixed media, paper arts and card making,
and comes in a package of 10 4.5 x 5.75" cards. Die cutting is a breeze
with this thickness of paper.
I used my Windsor Newton tubes for this project, the colors are intense and
transparent like no other I've found.

These are 2 of my favorite blooms for an afternoon of painting. (LOL, the first petals were
heavy with paint, and didn't define. But I kept going until something pleased.)

I do send out Easter cards, mostly to family, and plan to more of this magical lily.
Betsy has a youtube video to help with coloring and assembly,

Since my palm fronds are considered leaves, I'm adding my card to
the Flower Challenge

Did you get this die? I'm afraid to say I'm hooked on all things Greetery,
especially these Botanicuts!

Have a blessed week!

The Card Concept: Warm Winter Wishes

Hi and welcome to a blog post celebrating one of my favorite card challenges,
The Card Concept. You are given an inspiration photo and several styles
to choose from, and you create a card with that style, or one of your own. Yes,
you can combine styles too.

The neutrals and wood inspired my card. I used the Greetery's Halvsies die and ran it
through a wood embossing folder.
Oopsie Daysies (the Greetery) provided the bouquet.

Our challenges are for 2 weeks, and the winner has a guest designer spot on the blog.

Hope your weekend is extra craft.

Candy Valentine Vans

Hi and welcome to my happy hippie van valentines!

I made a bunch of these for the youngest of my grands. Just a way to say
Gma loves you!

The die for the van is the Greetery's Happy Hippie Van, and the heart border is an
old PTI set called Confetti Heart Border.

All the vans open on the back end to reveal a candy package.

The package folds easily to fit in the back.

They also each get a Target gift card tied to their candy vans.

The banners are created using the Greetery's Signed & Sealed with a Kiss (heart)
and Halvsies Diamond Die.

The older grands get cards and money. I try to please all!

Happy Valentines!

Anniversary Card

Happy New Year!
I have an anniversary card to share with you. My daughter and my SIL are
celebrating a winter anniversary, and I just recently got the Greetery's
Inside & Out Berry Branch. They sold out, and I was so happy Betsy restocked
it so soon.

I really wanted to keep the feel of winter with the elements and color,
so kraft and grey was where I started.

The gorgeous bow was another late purchase (also sold out until recently),
and I doubled it with pale pink underneath the red.

The sentiment is a combo of 2 sets, Just Mason Around and Bountiful Wreath.
I love the loose script on the blessings, not to mention I LOVE including the
word Blessings to any card!

Have you had a chance to use any of the Greetery's new sets? They glam up
a card front like no other! Love the new frame too!

Blessings to you in the new year!
And welcome 2020!

A Merry Christmas Greetery Card

Hi and Merry Christmas!
I have a card I want to share, done with the Greetery's new Botanicuts Pine Bough.
I only recently received this beauty. They sold out quickly, and when it came in,
I ordered it and the bow die. Thankfully Betsy must have connections with UPS,
because it arrived amazingly fast!
Betsy has a tutorial on her blog showing a how to coloring technique for the set,
followed by adding glitter.

The card started out with the Nordic Frames die, cut from white textured card stock,
then, pink and pale blue shimmer.

As Betsy had done, I added some shading to the pinecone pieces before assembling them.

Honestly, aren't these pinecones just about the sweetest? Can't wait to do more.
I have 4 birthdays in December and an anniversary in Jan. And I know
just what die set to use...

Merry Christmas all!

Card Concept Challenge: Bountiful Blessings

There's a new challenge at the Card Concept: Bountiful Blessings.
Hello, and welcome to my post celebrating all things beautiful about
this season; Thankfulness, our wonderful country's abundance and
family! And don't forget the best friends through this passion called
papercrafting!
Our inspiration photo is full of warm reminders of this season of
blessings. My card tried to capture some of this feeling of warmth.
I'm calling it's style a mixture of layers and mixed media.

1st off, a layer of colored gel medium through a stencil of leaves by PTI.
When dry, some sponged inking on the edges.
Next a die cut of PTI's Mix & Mat: Flourishes, also edge inked, and stamped
with Year of the Psalms: August.

The ink used for the sentiment is Altenew's Lava Rock.

Final layers are the pumpkins and gourds from PTI's Simply Gourdeous, and leaves from
Poppystamps' Autumn Leaf set, and Maple Trio. The one red leaf on the bottom of the
trio is also from Poppystamps and is a 'Whittle Leaf'.

Come join the fun, you have 2 weeks to play along, and we love to see
how you're inspired.

Hope your season is full of crafty goodness!

PTI June Blog Hop '18

Hello everybody! It's the 25th and that means time for a blog hop.
PapertreyInk's Blog Hop, where our inspiration was this photo of
riotous color!

Now when I see an inspiration photo, sometimes I go for mood or
certain items, sometimes a color scheme or style, but today I went literal...
those colorful popsicles!

The only way to come close to those wow colors was Lindy's Magicals. My
friend Marcia Hill (Marcia's Stamping Pad) introduced them to me,
and it's been love ever since!

In each little powder filled jar, there's a bit of mica flakes. I wish you could
really see the shine! Magical!

Play along all day on the PTI blog. Besides the fun of creating, playing and
commenting, you're sure to be amazed at the scope of fabulous posts. So
much fun to see how we were all inspired!
See you at the hop!

My supplies used are listed below. If you click on what you like
it'll take you to the PTI item in the store.

note: The stampset, Summer Sweetness is no longer available in the PTI store.
(Hopefully it's in your stash!)

SAF '17, 3rd Anniversary Leather with Ashley

A wonderful video by Ashley Cannon Newall on 'leather', next on the PTI blog.
All my other projects are currently in the sun drying. And today we are expecting
a blistering 105. Should be ready in no time!

I'm not sure the piece looks like leather, but I love the distress of the folds. Think I should
have played a bit less with it.

Forever Together

Good morning Card Concept fans, and welcome to this gorgeous
romantic inspiration!

Gorgeous, right? I really zoned in on the solid red bouquet.

Perfect chance to play with my new Concord & 9th, Petals & Pallets stamps and dies.
the pallet die allows you to pop it up, or lay it flat. So many options!
And all the blooms and leaves are included in this lovely set!
I first white embossed my sentiment before stamping with Hero Arts, Wet Cement.
The black dots in the flower centers are tiny pearls.
Just a bit of elegance to my Clean and Layered card.

Come play along on the Card Concept Challenge blog.
And be sure to tell us what inspired you!
