A Get Well Card

PapertreyInk's challenges are new every Wednesday, and one of them
Laurie's Fabulous Favorites,

is a challenge I'm joining today.
Laurie picked a photo inspiration and challenged us to do the same.

Here's mine:

A beautiful photo of Japanese cherry blossoms against a dreamy blue sky.

I chose the blooms and berries from PTI's Fresh Bouquet for my card.
The inks are Altenew's newest Spring collection, with copics for accents.
Nuvo's Copper Blush Embossing powder and copper sequins give a bit of bling,
and also added some splatters with Altenew's Magenta Ink.

Nothing better to get inky with a challenge, thank you Laurie!
Love the Wednesday challenges!

The stamps and dies are still on sale in the PTI shop.
My link will take you right to the store, and there's a die set to go
along with the stamps.

Praying for you

Hi! I'm playing along at a new challenge, for me, Muse.
My friend Tracey is the muse for the card challenge blog this week, and
we're asked to use her lovely card to inspire one of our own.

Tracey created this masterpiece of simplicity with Altenew florals.

Absolutely captivated by her one layer beauty with bright colors and
striking layout, and I followed it closely.

My Altenew florals come from Garden Treasure, sentiment from Bamboo Rose.

PTI April '18 Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to PTI's April Blog Hop.

We were given this photo for inspiration.

I loved the linen look, and took the florals for my inspiration.

I used a stamp and spritz technique for my blooms and leaves, adding additional color
for a second stamping with my misti.

It's such fun to hop around and see what we all did with the photo!
Play along all day on the PTI Blog!
Except for the pearls, all products PTI.
I've listed them below. Just click on what you like and it will take you to the
PTI store
Happy Hopping!

Feel Better

It's Blog Hop time at Papertrey Ink, and Nichole's challenge
is this dreamy photo

Inspiration? Well, there's the color, robin's egg blue.
And a beautifully staged wedding invitation.
The setting is positively dreamy.

I stamped a floral from Stemmed Statements onto watercolor paper,
and loosely colored the blooms, letting the water pull the color outside the lines.
Then die cut with PTI's Mix & Mat: Postal.
At the top I added a die cut banner embossed in white, with a sentiment
from Stemmed Statements. Love that cute little banner with the 2 holes!
Also did an envelope, stamped with Spring Rain, and colored with copics.

Because of the ring box in the photo, I added a few iridescent sequins to finish.

Think I'll do a set of cards with the other florals from this set.
Will post them as they're done!

Come play along all day on Nichole's Blog.

Finished a few more cards for my set.

This is such a full and versatile set. With many words and sentiments it's easy to find
and add just the right greeting. And the florals, so many that lend to coloring
with any medium.
Hope you're enjoying the hop. Always get such fabulous inspiration!

Psalm 91:4

Mondays are the best day of the week, for those of us who
can't do without PTI's Make It Monday.
Today Ashley showed us the coolest technique called
Emboss Resist Shadow Sentiments.
Such a great way to make the sentiment stand out!

A friend is in the hospital, and this card goes to her.
Betsy's Year of the Psalms: March furnished the sentiment I used on
a Mix & Mat: Scallops die.
First stamped with Dark Indigo, then versa mark and clear embossed,
the image is moved down slightly, and clear embossed again for the
shadow effect.
When the sponge inking is applied, the shadow pops!
My sentiment block is on a die cut and sponge inked
Cover Plate: Center Stage.
The feathers were fussy cut with a few popped up with foam.
Loved this technique, and can't wait to do it again!
Thanks, Ashley!

PapertreyInk May 2017 Blog Hop

PTI Blog Hop, with this inspiration

Nichole features the all over patterns of 'Irtsya'.
If you go to her website, she has other patterns and color combos.
Loved the way she softly colors her images, then adds
just a sprinkling of splatter.

Started with the daisies from Friendship Jar Fillers,
masked them, and added flora from Gathered Garden and Gran's Garden.
I don't need a 'get well' right now, but the sentiment from
Graceful Greetings 11 fit perfectly! Never looking a gift horse in the mouth,
that's what ended up on my one layer card.
Splatters courtesy of a toothbrush dipped in paint, and a few sequins
and done!

Play along on Nichole's Blog here:

Getting a late start to the hop today, had grandma duty this morning,
and barely getting posted this afternoon!
Can't wait to see what all of you have done.
This was challenging. Worked on it a few days before I was pleased.
You all never fail to amaze me, so I'm off to view!

May 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

Time for PTI's May Blog Hop, and Nichole has given us this inspiration

Nichole gave us free reign to use any of the colors of the photo,
any stamps we choose, and experiment with the fonts for our
sentiment. 'Out of our comfort zone', were her last words!

One layer cards are hardest for me, definitely struggle
to not add just one more:
pop up somewhere, frame it, bling or button!
I played with the Simple Seashells, watercoloring their 3 steps,
masking as I went.
Sand Swatch, and Colorful Words.
Fireworks Bahama Blue & Summer Sky
(and couldn't help adding just a few sequins!)
Hawaiian Shores Cardstock
PTI Inks:
Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding, Aqua Mist,
Hawaiian Shores, Winter Wisteria, Classic Kraft, Fine Linen
Hero Arts Shadow Ink: Wet Cement

Can't wait to see all the entries!

PTI March Blog Hop! & NBUS #4

A Big 'Hi' and welcome to PTI's March Blog Hop!
Nichole gave us this inspiration photo:

Light, bright and oozing Spring!

Colors: yellow & aqua. style: country, cottagey, some 40's retro.
Wallpaper, patterns & a polka dot table cloth!

Broke into the Cuppa Love set of stamps and dies. Hadn't used them,
and seemed fitting for an inspiration of such a warm scene!
During the release of this set, loved Heather's card pictured here:

I embossed the images onto Hawaiian Shores card stock with colors from the photo,
and used the sentiment from the set stamped in Ocean Tides Ink.
Polka dots embossed in white from PTI's Polka Dot Basics.
Play along all day on Nichole's Blog, you'll find awesome ideas and fun!
Edge scallop cut from heart banner die.

Since I haven't used this set before, adding the card to Darnell's NBUS Challenge?
Do you have stamps you haven't used yet?
This is a great challenge to use them!

The Card Concept Challenge #29 Get Well Soon

I recently purchased a 'MISTI', a stamping tool
recommended by my friend Marybeth Lopez,
and with it's help, produced this card.
It's perfectly indispensable when you want that rich, all over color
(and who doesn't?).
Submitting this card in Card Concept's 'Get Well' Challenge.

Their guest designer is the wonderful Jeanne Jachna, one of those talents out there whose posts
I try never to miss!
Here is her inspiration card:
So Yummy!

She calls it 'Freestyle Collage', one of the styles we
can choose when designing our cards for The Card Challenge.

Here is my oh so late submission,

Inspired by the colorful crocheted star/flowers in the photo,
I'm going for Classy Elegant, not sure, but I'm sticking to it!

All PapertreyInk here folks,
Bitty Bouquets (masked several times),
sentiment: Think Big Favorites: #22
sequins from Lovely Laurels  & Avery Elle.
PTI Cardstock, Stamper's Select
PTI Inks: New Leaf, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise,
Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst & Spring Rain.
The Embossing Folder is one by Craft Concepts called 'In Stitches'. Kinda reminded
me of the handwork in the inspiration photo.
Not much time left to play, but you can find the link here:
