Valentines

It's almost Valentine's Day, and I've been playing with some beautiful foiled paper
by Rinea. If you're not familiar with the product, it's either starstruck pattern or
double sided foiled paper and comes in a pack.
It embosses in a folder beautifully, and cuts easily in a die. The solid colors are
double sided and react with a pad they call 'Ghost Ink'. I found some very
helpful instruction on YouTube.

This card was cut with Memory Box: Ferrand Heart, a favorite from a few year's
back. The background is watercolored with a new paper from Poppystamps.

The second card uses Rinea papers too, the silver heart die cut & embossed, and
the red first stamped with ghost ink, then die cut. Also a watercolored background.

I couldn't wait to use this new product (new to me), and love it! I've already got plans
to make some Easter cards with some of the gorgeous colors they have.

Thanks for the visit, hope you enjoyed!

Love card

We have a new challenge at the Card Concept, Cozy Cabin.

I created a Wedding or Anniversary card with Poppystamps' Simple Leaf Heart Split Border.
It's a beautiful subtle and simple die that I let shine using a wood embossing folder for the
background.

The wedding topper in the background is from parents' wedding cake. My mom kept
it in a cabinet for years, quietly watching over the other knick knacks on the shelves.
When she was failing, she asked if I'd like to have it. Of all she passed on to me, this
sweet piece of her life of 49 years with my dad is my dearest treasure.

Poppystamps' Valentine release is in the shop now, and this love with it's flourish tail
is among my favorites!

The Card Concept Challenge runs for 2 weeks, and we love seeing what
inspires you from the photo.

I used the wood to inspire my Clean and Layered card. But there are many things
you could use for inspiration.
Our designers have lots more inspiration for you.

You Have my Heart

Hello Blogland!

I just got my computer back after a long week without it. My phone could only do
so much and thankfully and hopefully my computer drought is over.
The first card I'm posting since my computer's return, is this Valentine for PTI's MIM,
this week hostessed by Michelle Leone.
She has a lovely video showing how to use 'Lotsa Letters' on our cards.

I gathered some of my seasoned PTI stamps and dies, and worked around a banner
featuring Wet Paint Alphabet letters.
The background is stamped with an oldie called Alphabet Soup. (It's currently
marked down in the shop!) I forgot how fun this stamp is. The hearts and
sentiment within the heart are from You Have My Heart, another oldie
with a lot of heart (excuse the punning around!)

That wonderful stitched heart is part of the dies included in the die package.
The white heart is a Limitless Layers heart.

The Wet Paint letters fit perfectly on the Large Banner. Just a touch of ombre
on both the bg letters and the word Valentine.
You'll find links to the stamps and dies I used below.

Hope your week is full of crafty goodness!

Love Birds

It's a gray morning here in my neck of the woods (valley),
perfect for staying indoors, watching the cooking channel,
and being creative with PTI's latest stamps and dies.

Stephanie Gold's video for MIM this week,
shows us it's OK to use many different kinds of papers for our cards.

My colorful bg paper is actually a napkin. Bright and bold, with b&w dots, I decided to
bring out all the brights from PTI.
The sentiment die is Enclosed: Heart, cut from glitter paper and Raspberry Fizz
cardstock.
I have a stash of vintage music papers my daughter gave me, and among them was
one with the words, 'sweet - heart'.
(I know, you don't luck out with that happening often, right?)
I pink inked the edges before all the gluing.
Next was to take my pink crepe paper, gather it, and heat emboss with
Stampendous: Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.

I've seriously crushed over every card I've seen made with the new Brushed Birds set.
These 2 are the small birds stamped with PTI Pinks.

Speaking of crushing, the Farmer's Market Florals? It's going to be hard not
to use them for ALL projects! Gorgeous. I stamped the leaves, first with Fine Linen
then with Vintage Jadeite. Made for an interesting color combo.
The sweet ferns are from Make It Market: Wonderland Kit. (Olive Twist ink).

A sprinkling of sequins, because, why not, and my card is ready for
someone special. Probably the DH. He's a keeper!

Dearest Valentine

Create Along With Us, Papertrey's challenge to pick from all
their designer's fabulous release creations, and choose one to case.

I challenged myself this month, to come as close to a Melissa Phillips creation
as I could, with the stamps I had.
I'm such a fan of her work. Layers of lovely images, that seem to be put together
effortlessly yet perfectly!

Melissa's card, using the new bird from Brushed Birds.

My case of Melissa's card:

My case doesn't fall far from the source. See the bottom script?

I adore that about Melissa cards. Little touches of whimsy tucked in and around
that create interest wherever the eye falls.

Heart: Limitless Layers & Limitless Layers: Heart Stitches
Stamp A Faire 2014: Regency Era (Image stamped on heart)
bird: Nesting
flowers & leaves: Garden Party
Valentine sentiment: Birthday Classics: February & Regency Era
You & Me: The Best is Yet to Be

That's it, my case of Melissa's beautiful card.
I have a PTI bird, and I have so many florals to choose from.
Did I feel I had to order the new Brushed Birds? You bet!

Happy Crafting!

From the Heart

I'm so excited to be playing along with a new challenge to me,
Cas(e) this sketch. Don't think I've played there before.
Their designers are the best, and just look at this sketch that we
have for inspiration.

Leigh Penner gave us this beauty, with so much richness, couldn't resist playing along.

PTI's: To Have And To Hold, Bloom & Grow, Beautiful Berries: Spring
banner: PTI's Cloche Quarters
Poppystamps: Double Stitch Scalloped Rectangle Frames
There are 3 ink colors I used for the wreath, a trio of corals from The Ton:
Peach Blossom, Coraline & Spiced Chai.

My card has a bit of a vintage twist with the colors and layers. No excuses, it's what I
love. Sweet and floral. What could be better?

Thanks for the visit, and happy crafting!

PTI's 10th Anniversary: Love

We're celebrating 10 years of stamping with PTI, and
todays focus is stamps produced in 2009.
I didn't have any of the 5 sets hi-lighted, but chose to be
inspired by Dawn's premier set, Damask Designs.
Using another of her sets, Enclosed: Hearts, I made a shaker
with the flower stamp encircling the masked die cut heart.
The stamps in Damask Designs could be used any which way,
and I think that's also true of the sweet little flower stamp in
Enclosed: Heart.

Berry Sorbet, Vintage Jadeite, & Pure Poppy Inks.
Plaid paper from PTI's Beautiful Beads Pink & Orange Mix.
(Remember when we all made paper beads?)

Love Always

This morning sees a bit more light for photo taking.
Sharing a card for Inspired by All the Little Things.

Rather rustic, with the weathered wood,
and a big red distressed heart.

Just received Concord and 9th's Cozy Up stamps and dies. Ordered said set
after seeing a darling tag by our friend Marybeth Lopez, using the heart stamp,
(see here:Enjoy)

I actually used 2 Concord and 9th sets,
Cozy Up & Love Always
Love Aways has the die that cuts the attached word 'love' from the
window created from the frame.
Cozy Up also has dies, even the sweet 3 circle wood rings I used
for my ombre heart.
PTI Inks: Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy & Scarlet Jewel
Love Aways was stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn,
and selectively white embossed (Love Always).

Popped up the little ringlets with foam tape.

Birthday Heart

We're getting deluged after 5 solid years of drought.
Not complaining, just saying, not the best lighting to see colors.
But, oh, my plants and trees are happy!

This week's MIM is courtesy of Amy Sheffer:

I had so much fun with this.
She suggests going through our stamp collection in search of
those itty bittys that will give the effect of dangling.
I pulled out sets I haven't inked for awhile,
like visiting old friends!

Triple die cut Limitless Layers Stitched Heart from Berry Sorbet card stock.
Outside stems from Gathered Garden, as well as the top heart decoration.
Happy from Wreath for all Seasons
Birthday: Happiness in Bloom
Dangles: Grunge Me (Bird, flouish, Dotty dangles)
Hearts: Cupid's Arrow, To Have and To Hold
A few copic colored (R24) pearls, and mounted onto Berry Sorbet Pattern Paper.

The card goes to my sister celebrating a birthday this month.
