Be Still and Know

Another scripture card made with Betsy's new stamps and dies. I'm completely in love with
the Greetery's Fleur Impressions. The 3 step stamps + stamens = the look of an Impressionist
painting . Tucked into the terrrarium with verse was a joy to create.

I stamped the background before adding the solid terrarium die cut. Then built the scene
within the terrarium.

All Altenew Inks. Talk about vibrant! Love the many colors and how glorious they
stamp!

Hope you have a wonderful week. Plan to spend time planting some
much needed color in some pots outside. Hope you don't mind if I
post some pictures when they're done...

His Promises are Forever

Wednesdays are becoming my favorite day of the week. Papertrey's
new lineup of contests are so much fun and offer a bevy of prizes
for playing along.

Laurie wants us to choose one of our favorite dies to create with,
and I love her comparison to trying to choose a favorite child. But, like
I said before, it is possible to narrow it down to a few hundred. (Maybe!)

If you'll pardon a little life story, I'm in the northern part of my state (CA), caring for
grandchildren (3) while daughter and Son-in-Law are on a cruise. With me are the
bare minimum crafting supplies I knew I would need for the next 3 weeks. And among
them is one of my PTI 'Plates' binders'. (Notice I said, 'one of my plates binders').
Coverplate: Marquee was among those plates. It is a frame I can't use enough
to encircle sentiments, florals, and just about any special image.

The frame comes with die cuts that hi light the swirls and
the center piece. I added foam to the frame itself, as well as the
swirls and little piece, which really makes your image a standout.
Below is a list of the the products I used, the links take you to the PTI
store. And I think everything is still on sale.

Give Thanks

Good Monday Morning, hope your week is off to a crafty start.

Playing along with Color Throwdown, and these colors.
Decided to give them a leafy look like the photo, and chose PTI's
Bold Borders: Foliage as a starting point.

I sponge inked a few Catherine Pooler inks onto watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and ran my brush through the colors to blend a bit before cutting out my image.
Also cut my image 4 times with aqua mist to build it up more like a frame.

MIM #309 with Melissa

Hello! Enjoying some create time today. We've had 2 days of much needed rain here in
the Central Valley, and it's a perfect excuse to stay home and make cards.

Melissa Phillips is up this week at PTI, and has a wonderful tutorial for us,
Heat Embossed Stencil Backgrounds.
You can see her video and gorgeous creations using this technique on PTI's blog.

I made 2 cards, the first, have to admit, wasn't a favorite, so came up with one I
liked better. Sometimes, if you have the time, it's better to keep going until it pleases.

So here's the first.

I created my own stencil using Coverplate: Gemstone Die & vellum, and embossed it with silver
on an Amethyst Allure cardstock.

Beautiful Butterflies & Beautiful Butterflies Additions, with a hint of Wink of Stella.
Sentiment: New Every Morning.
The antenna are wires I shaped and curled at the ends.

But, like I said, wanted to try this technique again, so brought out the Market Street kit,
and did my bg with one of PTI's stencils: Wood Block Prints

Heat embossed in Zing's Rose, with a little inking (Spring Rain & Blueberry Sky.)
Like this better, maybe because the message can be extended.

I love interactive cards right now. Sliders, and hidden messages and pop up boxes. All such fun
for the recipient! Not to mention fun for me who makes them!

Happy crafting everyone!

And want to thank all who sent prayers my way on behalf of my mom.
Quick note on her condition, my sister and I were advised to bring in hospice care at this time, and they've been wonderful! So thankful for their caring kindness!
She continues to hang in there, with so many issues.
One of the reasons I love you all is our sharing and caring, and especially prayers!
Just wanted to say, 'thanks'.

PTI 10th Anniversary Celebration: 2014

Feather Finery is one the 5 featured Stamp Sets at PTI today.
I've used the lovely feathers so many times over the past years,
in so many ways, with so many techniques.
Time for a fresh look?

With fresh Spring colors, and a beautiful Bible verse, I think
it feels brand new!

1st the feather stamped onto Bookmark Die #2, with Aqua Mist & Vintage Jadeite.
Feather dots: Lilac Grace
Then, the Beautiful verse from New Every Morning in Amethyst Allure.
Next, the sweet flower bouquet included in New Every Morning.
And the bird popped up stamped with Aqua Mist and Amethyst Allure.
I splattered a bit of Aqua Mist ink on the tag, and attached it to
my card, cut with Noted A2 Scallop and stitched dies.
For more ideas with Feather Finery, visit Nichole's blog, here:

Are you playing along?
There are prizes for creating cards, and for commenting.
Hope your weekend is bright and sunny.

We got a break in the rain, and the sky is incredibly blue!
A reason to smile for sure!

PTI's 10th Anniversary Celebration 2013

2013 was an outstanding year for PTI.
So many unforgettable stamps and dies.
Among them, Hands of Time.

This set takes on a life of it's own every time I use it.
Stamped, embossed, or die cut with Clock Face, anything works.
A real favorite in 2013, and now, combined with the newer
Hope die, and Inspired: Hope Stamp set, again a favorite.
Do you have a favorite from 2013?
So many PTI greats to choose from!
