Poppy Stamps: For You

Hi sweet Poppy Peeps! I'm up on the Poppy blog featuring one of the new Easter
dies: Easter Bunny Egg.

If you visit the Poppystamps blog, I give a tutorial on how to make this card.
Actually, I made 3 cards. Once I got started, I just kept going! Love assembly line crafting!

Happy Crafting, all!

Done in Love

Dies only on Day 7 of PTI's Anniversary celebration.
No stamps!

Well that's easy. Went right to my cover plates for Paper Clippings: Done in Love.

This came together quickly, so I did another, using the cover plate
to create a stencil.

Since it's the same die, used 2 ways, and since Darnell has a new 'Two-Fer' challenge,
I'm playing over there too!

Now while both cards could be used for Valentines, one is definitely a Valentine 'Love' card,
while the other is more of congratulations card (dark background)
you give for a job well done. Or it could be an encouragement card.

Keep up the challenges, Darnell. We love them!

Hope your week is a 'crafty' one! The best kind!

MIM #309 with Melissa

Hello! Enjoying some create time today. We've had 2 days of much needed rain here in
the Central Valley, and it's a perfect excuse to stay home and make cards.

Melissa Phillips is up this week at PTI, and has a wonderful tutorial for us,
Heat Embossed Stencil Backgrounds.
You can see her video and gorgeous creations using this technique on PTI's blog.

I made 2 cards, the first, have to admit, wasn't a favorite, so came up with one I
liked better. Sometimes, if you have the time, it's better to keep going until it pleases.

So here's the first.

I created my own stencil using Coverplate: Gemstone Die & vellum, and embossed it with silver
on an Amethyst Allure cardstock.

Beautiful Butterflies & Beautiful Butterflies Additions, with a hint of Wink of Stella.
Sentiment: New Every Morning.
The antenna are wires I shaped and curled at the ends.

But, like I said, wanted to try this technique again, so brought out the Market Street kit,
and did my bg with one of PTI's stencils: Wood Block Prints

Heat embossed in Zing's Rose, with a little inking (Spring Rain & Blueberry Sky.)
Like this better, maybe because the message can be extended.

I love interactive cards right now. Sliders, and hidden messages and pop up boxes. All such fun
for the recipient! Not to mention fun for me who makes them!

Happy crafting everyone!

And want to thank all who sent prayers my way on behalf of my mom.
Quick note on her condition, my sister and I were advised to bring in hospice care at this time, and they've been wonderful! So thankful for their caring kindness!
She continues to hang in there, with so many issues.
One of the reasons I love you all is our sharing and caring, and especially prayers!
Just wanted to say, 'thanks'.

Peace card

Make It Monday at PTI features the artistry of Melissa Phillips,
who wowed us with 3 gorgeous samples of wreath building, found here:

I must be slipping because I only have a couple of wreaths to work with,
one being the die Melissa used. Found this one (Enclosed Wreath),
and had some fun with building my card around it.

Had to go with pinks, in honor of Melissa, and her incredible talent with pastels!

Embossed my die cut 4 times with Stampendous Shabby Green EP,
and sponge inked and stamped the Doily Tag Base with Beautiful Berries: Winter.
2 colors for the fern: Mint Julep & Green Parakeet.
2 colors for the berries: Berry Sorbet & Pure Poppy.

Background is stenciled with PTI's Polka Dots, Sweet Blush on Sweet Blush cardstock.

A peek on the inside

It's so much easier to finish the inside while the stamps are on my table,
one less step when addressing my cards.

Loved this technique, and plan to do several cards using these stamp sets...
while they're still handy on the table!

Thank you Melissa, and thank you for visiting,
Happy Crafting!

Blessed

Hi PTI fans!
I love Mondays that fall  on Papertrey's release week.
We are asked to case the wonderful designers who take the new product
and create and design fabulous things!

Sounds easy? Fun yes, easy no. Just try picking one out of 76 glorious
creations!

I finally settled on a beauty by Michelle Leone, featuring Betsy Veldman's new
Beautiful Berries: Autumn. You can see Michelle's card, and a card set she did here:

I used the stencil from Herb Garden, as Michelle did, and
substituted my vine with one from Embellished Elegance.
Inked with Summer Sunrise and Harvest Gold
Vine inks: Simply Chartreuse, Orange Zest, Scarlett Jewel.
So glad to use that lovely set again!
Double Ended Banners and Inspired: Blessed.
Stitched die from Noted: Scalloped A2.
The Inspired: Blessed stamp set has several sentiments that go along
with the word, Blessed, but couldn't decide which to use.
Decided I'd wait until the need arises to add, 'so very', or 'grateful, thankful',
or one of the other lovely sayings.

'berry' glad we're friends

Release week at PTI, and we are challenged to 'Create Along With Us',

a happy way to case the designers and their fabulous inspiration.

Nichole did this beautifully simple card, with a new, soon to be released
herb garden set,
and I think showing us one of some new stencils.
I loved her distressed edges, something I haven't done in a while.

Didn't stray from her clean, cas design, with the stenciled circle,
(I created mine with paper and a hole torn out of the middle),
and the sentiment within the hi lighted circle.
And of course those distressed edges I love!

Good Saturday Morning!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
I'm up today on the PoppyStamps blog

Happy Birthday to You

It's a beautiful day in CA's Central Valley,
Spring is in full bloom here, with warm (not hot!) days.
And the Card Concept has a new challenge for you,
with this photo:

Vintage Tiles, musical backgrounds, lace, birds,
well, you get the idea.
What inspires you?

Take a look at a birthday card I did, using the photo for inspiration.

The lacy frame is a stencil from PTI's Lovely Lace,
inked with Ranger's Distress Oxide: Iced Spruce & Vintage Photo.
I LOVE the way those inks blend, and the colors they create,
when overlapped.
The birds, flowers, musical birthday score
and leafy branch are from Songbirds, one of my PTI favorites.

Enjoy your Spring day, (hopefully it's as beautiful as mine)
and visit the Card Concept Challenge Blog for more inspiration!

Grateful for You

Good Monday Morning!
Make it Monday has Dawn McVey on board this morning,
showing us how lovely creating patterns are behind
die-cut windows.

This is my card, using Dawn's Vintage Linen set.
I created a frame or window with Mix & Mat: Flourishes,
and stencil pattern from Woodblock Prints.
Added a bit of depth to the blooms with pencils.

Celebrating the day after Easter in pjs, in the craft room,
and eating left overs!
Family left early this morning, and my girls and daughters in laws
helped clean my house before going! Love them!!!

6 of the 11. Antsy to start the hunt.

Noelle went into the pool after one egg.

Eli is so happy with his find.

We had good weather until 6 pm, and then rain. In sheets!
A perfect day!
Ron and I went out this morning, and look what we found...

No doubt many more out there.

Do you do a Easter Egg Hunt?
It's a Penir tradition!
