The Card Concept: Cacti Clusters

Hi there, Card Concept peeps!

Today we are challenging you to create a card using our photo promp, 

Cacti Clusters.

LOVE all succulents! 

I'm a huge succulent fan! Love their hardiness, and variety. And a breeze to transplant.

My inspiration for you uses the Greetery's Terrarium Die with watercolored 

succulents, also from the Greetery. Betsy knocked it out of the park with her 

first release. And if you think that was great, her second topped it all!

The baby tears succulents are from PTI's Super Succulents, and the oval

die is Shape Shifter's Oval: 2. Background is from Super Succulents Patterned

Paper Collection.

This sentiment from PTI was the perfect compliment to my colorful succulents,

 but the words were lined up straight (Happy Trails). No worries. 

I taped the 'you' while stamping the 'color my world', 

then reversed the tape, and stamped the 'you' in purple.

The Card Concept: Mosaic Madness

Hey cardmakers, it's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.

Here's your inspiration photo:

So many ways to go with this one. I chose to focus on color, and

the mandala style.

Here's my inspiration for you

One focal image, using the inspiration photo colors, and PTI's Flower Mandala.

Here's how I created my own background:

I used the dies from the Flower Mandala and cut several images from vellum.

Using 3 inks, and the vellum as a stencil, I inked, and changed the position of

the vellum overlapping colors and images. When done, I used a Cuttlebug embossing

folder to give some texture.

I would say this is an elegant and layered card. 

I'd love to see how you interpret the inspiration photo. Color? Shape? 

Layout? Or just a style you love.

Galoshes Galore! The Card Concept

Galoshes Galore is the theme for the newest Card Concept Challenge.

And here's some more inspiration for you,

As you can see, I was inspired by the pink polka dot rain boots. My stamps and dies are from

Paper Sweeties called Sweet Cuts | Showering You With Love. 

The talented Debbie Marcinkiewicz gave me my first designing gig, and I will

always be grateful to her. Aren't those boots adorable? They are on sale in the

Paper Sweeties shop, and the stamp comes with the dots ready to color. I used 

copics in several shades of pink. Click on the post item and it'll take you to

the store and the sale. 

The Kraft bg is stenciled with PTI's Woodgrain stencil. Mix & Mat Postal and 

Bitty Bouquet stamp and die are also from PTI.

the Card Concept: Shamrock Blessings

Shamrock Blessings is the theme for the Card Concepts' newest challenge.

I saw the big rustic, multi colored and patterned shamrock, and went with a rather

elegant and layered card.

I used the Quilted Heart die from Concord & 9th, cutting it 6 times and sewing 3 sets of 

2 hearts together. Then assembling them in the shape of a shamrock. PTI Celebrate.

The Card Concept: Pink Party

Welcome back to the Card Concept Challenge!

Hope your holidays were full and jolly. If they were anything like mine,

they were busy. So glad to be back in the craft saddle, and happy to be

bringing you inspiration for 'Pink Party'.

Our photo this week could be inspiration for color, items on the table,

or the contrast of pinks and black and white.

What inspires you?

Here's what I came up with:

The pink peonies inspired my Clean and Elegant with a bit of layering card.

The Ton's Dearest Peony centrally stamped, and colored with copics, then cut 

with PTI's Pierced Frames: Oval, are the main elements to my card.

 Just a bit of gold Stickles and a few gold sequins complete. 

I really wanted to emphasize all that bright white in the photo.

The Card Concept: Elegant Holiday

Happy Holidays to you! Hope you're managing well, and are enjoying all the

beauty of season. 

The Card Concept has a new challenge,

this elegant silvery photo called: Elegant Holiday.

So many possibilities went through my mind, but I settled on  PTI's

gorgeous Paper Clippings die set, and silver glitter paper.

I really glammed up the die cuts, and added layers of subtle color on a piece of Yupo paper

with Ranger's Alcohol Inks in Moss and silver. 

Classy & Elegant, with layers is what I'd call it. 

Hope you can find some time to play along. It's a 2 week challenge and we

love to see how you are inspired.

The Card Concept: Homestyle Holiday

Hi! It's Holiday time on the Card Concept challenge blog!

We have a rustic, homestyle holiday photo this time

to inspire us, and I was drawn to the folksy warmth and sparkle of the 

Christmas tree.

I love creating layers for a scene, and stenciling Nuvo's glitter paste on PTI's dark navy 

cardstock was the perfect start for my layered and mixed media card.

In the Meadow die (snowy hills) embossed with Stampendous: Shabby Blue Embossing powder.

Card Concept Challenge: Sunflower Serenade

Hello! It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept, and we have 

this gorgeous inspiration photo for you!

Sunflower Serenade!

The huge sunflowers definitely inspired my card. This time I combined

watercolors, ink stenciling, and some layers with die cuts and fussy cutting.

I call it, 'Layered Mixed Media'.

My sunflower comes from Deep Red, and is called: Large Sunflower.

Hello everyone! And welcome to some inspiration for the newest 

Card Concept Challenge: Golden Table.

What inspired my Classy Elegant and layered card?

Oh my, that gorgeous floral arrangement in pinks and corals,

and of course the touches of gold! 

Botanical Bounty 2 from PTI gave me the blooms to create my bouquet.

The 'for you' sentiment die was gold embossed several times to get

that thickness. And the dew drops are from Betsy Veldmans's

Make It Market Shakers & Sprinkles.

Owl Cherish Our Friendship: The Card Concept

Hi and welcome! The Card Concept has a new challenge for you:

 'Owl Cherish Our Friendship'.

How was I inspired? The square shape of the pillows, fabric patterns, and of course,

those darling owls! 

I needed a card for a friend who announced her pregnancy recently, 

and chose the whimsical owl from Papertrey's Polka Dot Parade #11.

I love the term 'glowing' for an expectant mother, and created the word with 

Concord & 9th's Perfectly Penned stamp set, which has the script letters

 to create the word.

Gave my mom to be owl a sprinkle of glitter to 'show the glow'.

Then I went over the word with silver Wink of Stella.

Stitched squares: Lawn Fawn's Scallop Box Card Pop-Ups.

Background PTI's Polka Dot stencil & Aqua Mist Ink.

The Challenge runs for 2 weeks, plenty of time to play!

I cut a piece of Kraft Cardstock down to 3 3/4"x 5',

stamped it with PTI's Text & Texture Roses, and then Background Basics: Sheet Music.
