Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World has the most gorgeous picture of
Magnolias in bloom against a dreamy watercolor sky.
Coincidence, PTI's challenge this week is Embossing Watercolor stamped images.
Ummmmm, 1 post, for 2 challenges? Almost too good to be true!
Spring almost oozes thoughts of watercolors, sheer and translucent washes of blended color.
My inspiration came from something I saw on Pinterest
Liked the layout but wanted my petals on a square card.
Found my 'petals' in the form of a die from PTI's Year of the Flowers: Roses. It's the leaf die.
Die cut about 20 to ink watercolor. So much fun to try to match the colors in Cath's inspiration photo.
Ink dries much lighter than when applied, so I had many to choose from.
Stampers Select white card base, 5 1/2 x 5 1/2".
Soft Stone panel 4 x 5 1/2" (all PTI cardstock).
Limitless Layers Circle die with sentiment from Mini Blooms (PTI).
When I misted the petals, they curled a bit, which I thought looked like a real petal, so I went with it.
When dry, petals were stamped with a large rubber Stampendous 'Dream Text' stamp.
Edges inked with PTI's Avocado and a few enamel dots to frame sentiment.
Card #2 is the one that will be in 2 challenges.
Heather Nichols' tutorial inspired this card.
Center panel is white, white embossed and softly watercolor inked with a mix of Hibiscus Burst and Harvest Gold. the Leaves are Simply Chartruese, but very watered down in the background.
Year of the Flowers: Roses stamp and die sets.
Main rose and buds are Hibiscus Burst and Scarlett Jewel.
It's for my mom, so I sprinkled it with Fairy Dust.
Sentiment: PTI's Boutique Borders Mother.
Enjoying a blissfully quiet week of putting my house back together after 2 weeks of family and Egg Hunts! Just about able to see the inside of my laundry room.
Hope your week is filled with creative joy!
