PTI's November Blog Hop

Good Morning!

Welcome to PapertreyInk's November Blog Hop!

What's the challenge?
Create a Paper House
Nichole even gave us a template to use,
which I did use to make my Christmas cottage.

The days are rather busy this time of year, my family is already here for Thanksgiving (19 in the house!), and it didn't help to have the flu last week (no I didn't get a flu shot, next year it's on my to do list!. Does it really help?) I had big plans to let loose with this challenge. But life interfered, and I only did this one. But she won't be lonely.
I collect paper houses and bottle brush trees, and over the years set them into a village at Christmastime.

My little candy cane house fits right in!
Maybe next year I'll do some more. The possibilities are endless, and Pinterest has some wonderful inspiration. Look up Putz House. You'll be in a wonderland of sugar plum goodness!
PTI picket fence die
PTI cardstocks
PTI Candy Cane Prints
gesso, mica, tiny bottle brush tree, wooden snowflake.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has come up with.
These hops are always full of great inspiration!

JUGS #216

It's a photo challenge at the JUGS blog this week!

My inspiration comes from the retro look together with colors dots and stockings, only I substituted skates!

These are On Ice stamp and die sets from PTI.
In the photo, there's a roll of twine in red and white. I added the twine as laces on the skates
Poms on the ends.
Lots of dp, love to do layers, especially at Christmas.
Lots of dots in the photo too! (Round shaped ornaments)

Hope you'll take some time this busy Thanksgiving week to play along!

MIM 141

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Make It Monday and it's time to bring out the glitter!
Heather Nichols shows us how to make it stick!
With Vintage Ornaments stamps and dies,
first inked and then with the heat and stick embossing powder, Heather made it a breeze.
She warned of overcooking (which I have done), but knowing when to stop makes it easy.
Even applied a strip on the bottom.

Come and play on Nichole's blog here:

Can't wait to do this again, Thank's Heather!

Good Monday Morning!
So excited to say I was selected to be the guest designer for this week's Merry Monday!
The challenge is use a tree and some bling.

Love playing with this theme, and love that with their creative challenges, I've done enough Christmas cards to be done!

My card is a shaker window (bling) with the tree on the inside.

Stampendous Winter Wonderland embossing powder.
Here's the inside.

And the window, which houses the shaker fun.

Designer Paper is Webster's Pages, Dear Santa.

MM # 83 Stripes, Red, Chocolate & Stars or Hearts

This week's Merry Monday focuses us on the colors: Red, and Chocolate, with stripes, and either
 stars or hearts.
Chocolate means bring on the gingerbread man from PTI's Holiday Button Bits.

Isn't this the dreamiest cupboard?
I love all things traditional, seasoned with a bit of kitsch, and always red and white.

Mr. Gingerbread Man is holding a peppermint candy Memory Box die cut.
Banner includes hearts from PTI's Gingerbread Lane cut from red felt.
PTI tag sale die cut from Pure Poppy card stock.
Background paper is Webster's Pages: Silent Night. I thought the Birch trees look stripish.
There's a brown die cut snowflake from PTI, glittered with coarse glitter, behind the tag.
Layers make me happy.

Dimension with foam dots, some Baker's twine, and red and white snowflake ribbon.
Play along through Sunday on the Always Playing with Paper website.

MIM #140 Ink Pad Designs

Ashley shows us how to use our ink pads to design our cards
 on this week's Makeit Monday.
Totally fun and colorful way to be creative with the stamp pads.
Needed a few cards for Thanksgiving, so I made 2 cards for the challenge.

Cut a window in my Rustic Cream card stock with Limitless Layers oval, ran it through the Cuddlebug again with the Woodgrain embosser (both PTI), and then came the fun.
Using Canyon Clay inkad, I swiped it over the card stock. Really brought out the grain of the wood.
Spritzed it with water, to tone down just a bit.
Basket of Blessings copper embossed and selectively bleached. (Remember that tutorial?)
Autumn Acorn leaves and PTI twine.

2nd card used Basket of Blessings again (it was handy, and I love that basket!)
This time embossed in gold, and again used bleach.
(It was handy too!)

The sentiment was clear embossed before I applied the ink pad. I also spritzed it with water.
I think it looks like marble!
Sentiment is also from Basket of Blessings. I used my gold gel pent hilight the T and B.
Rustic Cream cardbase.

Jugs 214 Create a bg of words

Hi all!
Hope you're having a great weekend.

I have a card made for the Just Us Girls Challenge blog,
which asks us to use a word background on our cards.
I'm excited to say I was chosen to be their guest designer for the month of November!
You  could have knocked me over when I got the email from Vicki Dutcher, one of the designers
of the 'JUGS' blog.

Here's the challenge photo:

So happy I could use PTI's new stamp set, Background Basics: Christmas Joy.
It's just full of Christmas words. Pretty good background for a Christmas card!

Can't seem to get enough of Two Feet Deep, another set from PTI.
The Pinecone swag was created with Peaceful Pinecones.
Tiny Tags die and Lil Inkers bow and stitching dies.

This is a fun challenge blog with some talented designers leading the way.
Check it all out here:

Curtain Call Welcome Home

Good Thursday Morning.
I wanted to play along with the Curtain Call Challenge: Welcome Home

I took the wonderful photo literally and created my impression of this wreath.
such a lovely wreath hanging on a weathered door!
So artistic.
Using the stamp, A Wreath for all Seasons (PTI), I stamped the stick wreath first in Kraft and then in Brown. Then I selectively stamped the sticks only to increase the width of the wreath.
Next embossed the wreath stamp in ivory.
Then I applied red and purple dots to look like the berries in the photo.
I took a piece of natural sponge, and stamped tufts of mossy where I liked them,
in several powders, ivory and greens.
I know it seems like a lot of work, but fun it was!
Kind of artsy?
Next I accented in red and purple stickles.

Matted in Royal Velvet card stock, then in Rustic Cream.
I had this unused silver paper that I ran through a wood grained embossing folder, inked it up a bit,
stamped the Merry in Royal Velvet, and the Christmas in Pine.
Card base is Aqua Mist
Hope you enjoyed my long winded explanation.
Oh yes, the stitching is Lil Inkers square die.

Catch the challenge that runs through Sunday, here:

Cards for Cath

I'm so glad someone suggested making cards for Cath.
After all, it's what we all do, for each other, for all occasions, especially on Tuesdays.
At least we used to.
Cath would play a tune and we would dance.
She certainly has an eye to pick a trigger!

Her smile, her wit, her kind words, we all will miss the daily inspiration.

Cath, here's another card,  for you.

I wish you all the best.
And I know you will be filling your time with many wonderful projects and endeavors.
Please don't be a stranger.

It was through you we all met and appreciated each other.

Moxie Fab World certainly has some big shoes to fill!

Thank You Cath for all you've done to make the blog world a fabulous place to be!
A Moxie Fab place to be!

You will be missed!
