A Lovely Birthday!

MIM this week features a watercolor technique, using
PTI's coverplates. Ashley shares her endless talents and creates a beauty of
a card on Nichole's blog here:

With a large family, my birthday stash is easily depleted, so
here's a birthday card using the Quatrefoil Die.

I followed Ashley's lead, and used re-inkers on Canson watercolor paper.
Vintage Linen flowers, white embossed and also colored with reinkers.

Inside finished with stamped off and masked flowers,
and sentiment from Inside Out: Birthday.

This technique was so much fun to do,
can't wait to try it again!

Tag You're It #34

Hello, and welcome to another Tag You're It Challenge!
We have as our inspiration, Susan Wuthrich,
with a fun, family themed tag featuring birdhouses,

I have a birdhouse stamp gifted to me when I guest designed at the Serendipity blog.
Isn't it sweet? It's not a Christmas stamp, but could be with the right embellies and coloring.I Embossed in black, copic colored, then paper pieced
and fussy cut it out.
'Joy' sentiment from Casual Fridays: Christmas Carols stamp set,
embossed on dotted vellum.

Hoping you'll find time to join in on the fun.
There's always lovely inspiration from the other designers,
and a guest designership for the winner!

MIM #229: Fabric Strip Christmas Trees

Melissa Phillips plays with fabric on PTI's MIM this week.
She shows how to create a card using a straw and strips of
fabric & ribbon. She even throws in some lace.
Melissa is all about the details, and that's my
favorite thing about card making!

My Christmas fabric stash provided the torn strips.
Ribbons and lace, yes!
The star was in my cut files, not sure what die, but covered it in glitter, and a button.
Tiniest Tags with a tiny tag sentiment.
Buttons, vintage bells, sequins, love!
Used Star Scribbles for the bg, stamped in Soft Stone.
Stamper's Select White Cardstock on a Vintage Jadeite card base.

Plan to make more of these, so much fun!
Thank you Melissa!

Taking my DH in to have shoulder surgery tomorrow,
and would appreciate all my blogging friends' prayers for
all to go well. Thank you in advance. Will let you know how
it goes.

MIM #228 Pearlized Blending

Pearlized Blending with Lizzie Jones this week at Papertrey's MIM.

There my Perfect Pearls have sat, neglected, unused for too long.
Until Lizzie's challenge.

I did it her way, cut my rectangle from vellum,
stamped my image from Botanical Blocks 111, with versa mark,
used clear powder, then applied the Perfect Pearls.

It's my attempt at CAS. Something I am not.
I did manage to sneak in a rhinestone, hopefully won't disqualify the CAS label.
Going right back into the craft room to layer and bling up something!
