PTI August Blog Hop

Welcome to PapertreyInk's August Blog Hop!
Nichole has given us this inspiration,

'... The stunning and vibrant colors of the wool dying process is full of interpretations that can be applied to your next paper crafting project!  Experiment with creating backgrounds, perhaps dying or watercoloring die-cuts or your own fibers, dots/circles and stripes, an ombre color palette, layers of twine and more.  Be creative and see where your imagination can take you!'
Rich warm colors, and raw rustic textures. LOVE!

So, did 2 cards,
with some of PTI's older stamps, my order's held up by a weekend :(
Love this time of year, bringing out a favorite, Leaf Print Set,
and other Autumn stamps!

I started die cutting leaves from an allover inked sheet of card stock.
Tried to match some of those lucious yarn colors
with PTI's reds, pinks, oranges and yellows.
The worn table gave me an idea for the bg.
Made a stencil from Cover Plate Circle, selectively inking with versa mark,
before adding white ep on Soft Stone card stock.
Embossed sentiment from Sunflower Bouquet.

2nd card was inspired from a catalogue,

Started with a piece of muslin stamped with Autumn Adornments.

Aqua Mist cardstock, embossed & lightly distressed inked.
Banner Sentiments embossed in copper.
Made a corsage of sorts, around a burlap flower, inked with Pure Poppy.

Can't wait to see all the takes on this one!

Play along all day, here, on Nichole's blog:

Enjoy the hop, and thanks for visiting!

This autumn Grandinroad catalogue is a beauty inside and out!
Do you love catalogues too?

MIM #221: Masking Sentiments

Ashley shares tips on masking on this week's MIM.
She masks the sentiment, and stamps around,
creating visual impact to the sentiment.

I chose Still Life Summer, together with it's sentiment,
masked it, and began stamping the fruits.
What a fun set to stamp by Betsy Veldman!
Enjoy is ombre Limeaid Ice, Berry Sorbet & Pure Poppy.
When done stamping, pinked the left edge,
mounted on a piece of Berry Sorbet,
added twine, and the mini tag from SAF (couldn't wait to begin using!)
and a couple of Melon Berry buttons.
Wish I had more of that happy plaid paper, also from Still Life Summer,
it's a favorite, and it's the last piece.

The 'happy' on the mini tag is from Pretty Petals.
It's because the whole idea of summer fruit just makes me happy!

Paper Sweeties August Release Rewind!

Welcome Back Paper Sweeties fans!
It's Rewind time. Time to put our new stamps to work with some of
the older ones.

I've done a card with the lollipops from Let's Party, a great new set with larger
stamps (and it has matching dies!), colored and wrapped them with cellophane.
I used Paper Sweeties Cotton Candy Twine to tie them.
The pot is from Garden Time. I used it as a holder for the pops.
Sweet is the great die, from Happy Sweet Cuts.
All on a watercolor bg.
Hope you've loved each day of the release that celebrates
3 years of Paper Sweeties.

Paper Sweeties August Release Countdown!

Welcome back to Paper Sweeties 3rd birthday bash & August Release!
It's countdown time. Tomorrow's the day you can buy these 4 new stampsets and 3 die sets!

Abigail is celebrating in style!

Her new dress, balloons, hat & present is from the new release set called 'Wishing You'.
The background was created using the balloon image & versa mark ink, with white eb powder.
Then I inked the bg with pink inks, before adding my sentiment (same set) and heart
flourish beneath.
Abigail's new dress is paper pieced and colored with copics. So is her present.
I added glossy accents to the 3 popped up balloons, after inking and cutting them out.
Hope you join the fun,
Debbie has a wonderful challenge for August!
AND special guest designers offering $350. in prizes!
Speaking of August, have you ordered your August kit of the month?

Cool Thoughts for Warm Days - Memory Box Challenge

Memory Box has a challenge that sounds fun!
'Cool Thoughts for Warm Days'

We're in the heat of summer here in CA's Central Valley.
But my craft room, thanks to air conditioning, helped me remember cooler days.
I made a stencil from MB's Diamond Background die, and inked it in blues and greys,
leaving the center open.
Then I placed Woodland Deer behind some vellum, before adding a double cut
Winterflake Frame, which had been embossed with
Stampendous Shabby Blue.

Merry Christmas was triple cut and embossed for a bit of dimension.
A few bling rhinestones, and I'm definitely feeling cooler!
What about you?

PTI's Create Along With Us: August Release

'Create along with Us', a new challenge at Papertrey, gives
their fans a chance to use the inspiration we've seen
from the brilliant designers.
On the first day of projects, I was blown away by this card by Nichole.

She used a leaf die to create a stencil, then filled it in with a stamp,
creating the most beautiful texture and translucency.

I chose Feather Finery dies to make a stencil.

With the stencil in place, I inked the edges, softening towards the middle.
Then using the smaller dot stamp from Feather Finery, I stamped and stamped off around
the edges.
PTI inks: Canyon Clay & Ocean Tides.
I tried to rock & roll the sentiment (Vintage Linens), as Nichole did,
but it simply looks like one solid color. :(
Rainstones, because I can never just let things be!

Love this new challenge the clever minds at PTI came up with.
Play along all week here on Nichole's blog:

Melissa is up at Papertrey this week with a how-to create

She suggests bringing the grandkids in on the fun,
but mine went home yesterday, so...  it's my turn for fun!
They whip up so fast, I did 4 with the Library Card Tag, (which has a cool little
hole at the top I punched through all layers),
and Monthly Moments: Spiral Notebook

Make It Market: County Fair

Make It Market: You're a Masterpiece

Summer Camp

Summer Camp
Trees, camera, tent & campfire fussy cut.
