The Card Concept Challenge: Old Fashioned Love

You're in for a treat at the new Card Concept Challenge.

So much pink rosiness, and full of romantic femininity.
I just had to break out Poppystamps' newest Rose Stem Collage die.

I had this rose designer paper in my stash, and used it behind my rose window shaker.
Dies from You Have My Heart, (PTI) form the tag at the top.

Sentiment also from PapertreyInk's You Have My Heart.
The shaker's contents are my own mix from a very large sequin stash, that
seems to be growing!
Play along for 2 weeks on the Card Concept blog!
Remember, with our challenge, you choose the creative style you use.
So many styles to choose from on our blog,  and you can combine styles!
Happy Crafting!

Love Birds

It's a gray morning here in my neck of the woods (valley),
perfect for staying indoors, watching the cooking channel,
and being creative with PTI's latest stamps and dies.

Stephanie Gold's video for MIM this week,
shows us it's OK to use many different kinds of papers for our cards.

My colorful bg paper is actually a napkin. Bright and bold, with b&w dots, I decided to
bring out all the brights from PTI.
The sentiment die is Enclosed: Heart, cut from glitter paper and Raspberry Fizz
cardstock.
I have a stash of vintage music papers my daughter gave me, and among them was
one with the words, 'sweet - heart'.
(I know, you don't luck out with that happening often, right?)
I pink inked the edges before all the gluing.
Next was to take my pink crepe paper, gather it, and heat emboss with
Stampendous: Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel.

I've seriously crushed over every card I've seen made with the new Brushed Birds set.
These 2 are the small birds stamped with PTI Pinks.

Speaking of crushing, the Farmer's Market Florals? It's going to be hard not
to use them for ALL projects! Gorgeous. I stamped the leaves, first with Fine Linen
then with Vintage Jadeite. Made for an interesting color combo.
The sweet ferns are from Make It Market: Wonderland Kit. (Olive Twist ink).

A sprinkling of sequins, because, why not, and my card is ready for
someone special. Probably the DH. He's a keeper!

12 Kits of Occasions: January '17 'Snow Day'

I'm so glad you came by today for a visit. There's so much to see!
It's time for 12 Kits' January post, and our hostess this month is
the fabulous Jeanne Jackna. (A Kept Life)
Jeanne's kit is all about winter, full of sweet happy papers, snowy
images, and die cuts, and of course because it's 'Queen Jeanne', lots
of accessories! Honestly, she's the most generous crafter I know and a genius with dp!
So get cozy and let's take a look at Snow Day!

Oh those Memory Box skates! Love them to bits! Gave the blades a silvery tone with a pen,
and matched them with one of Jeannes' silver snowflake charms.

Poppystamps Wintertime Fairies fly over a PTI Mix & Mat: Snowflakes die.

Oh yes, Jeanne included the twine, a color I didn't have in my stash.

These sweet friends from Pretty Pink Posh just look better together.

See that little muffled bird on the banner? A piece of leftover dp Jeanne included, cut
with a scrap from a Poppystamps die.

I guess you can imagine what fun it was getting this kit and putting everything together.
This sledding cub just seemed to go with the sentiment!

Memory Box snowflakes: Evangeline

No way did I use all the papers and elements and bling in Jeanne's kit.
Plenty leftovers for More!

Can't wait to see what my teammates made with their kit.
We have 2 guests this month,
Cathy Weber from Empty Nests Crafter, an original member of the group that Jeanne
invited back.
Richard Breaks - That's Mister Cardmaker to You
and the winner of last month's comments: Marcia Hill - Marcia's Stampin' Pad.
Please go by for a visit and leave some love on their blogs!

Thank You, Jeanne! Loved every single bit!

PTI January '18 Blog Hop

Hello! And welcome to PTI's January Blog Hop!

This month we were given this photo for inspiration

Looks like a party to me!
With a celebration of pastels and loads of white.

My card was made from Paper Clippings: Birthday, and some inspiration from
Amy Sheffer  (Amy Sheffer - June 2016).

I loved Amy's use of the Double Ups Rectangle die together with the Paper Clippings Birthday
dies cut from white, as though they were connected.
Background is a handmade stencil from Coverplate: Circles
sponge inked with Spring Rain and Lovely Lady.
The circles and diamonds just add to the celebration going on with the
birthday die cut.

There's so much inspiration from the photo this month.
Can't wait to see how all of you created your cards!

Happy Hopping!

Mixing Up a Batch of Thanks

Our challenge this week at PTI's MIM is to created a shadowed sentiment.
Lizzie expertly shows us how on her video here:

I was celebrating the arrival of my PTI order, with the Life is What You Bake It set,
and decided to create my card around it.
My bg is a stenciled plaid created with the Horizontal Stripe Coverplate die.
The die cut vellum was first stenciled with Spring Rain, then the vellum stencil was
turned and stenciled with Bright Buttercup.

One of the corners from Floral Flaps gave me an 'awning' over the
spoons and sentiment.

Love this technique, and can't wait to do it again!

Have a great week!

Be Mine!

A Valentine card made for a challenge called: Freshly Made Sketches,

Valentine for CTS

CAS(E) this Sketch has this sketch challenge for us

Such a simple statement of elements and sentiment.

I took some liberties with the horizontal stripe, and first put a swatch of
Finetec Pearl watercolors on a Smokey Shadow card base, with plenty of
 'white space' (charcoal) showing.
Then some Wendy Vecchi Metallic Gold Embossing paste over a handmade stencil
created with PTI's Stripes Diagonal Die.
Heart, Square Frame & Valentine sentiment die: Poppystamps
PTI: Fancy Foliage Details painted with Finetec Pearls.

Theres plenty of time to join in, with some great inspiration from their designers.!

Enjoy your week!

Dearest Valentine

Create Along With Us, Papertrey's challenge to pick from all
their designer's fabulous release creations, and choose one to case.

I challenged myself this month, to come as close to a Melissa Phillips creation
as I could, with the stamps I had.
I'm such a fan of her work. Layers of lovely images, that seem to be put together
effortlessly yet perfectly!

Melissa's card, using the new bird from Brushed Birds.

My case of Melissa's card:

My case doesn't fall far from the source. See the bottom script?

I adore that about Melissa cards. Little touches of whimsy tucked in and around
that create interest wherever the eye falls.

Heart: Limitless Layers & Limitless Layers: Heart Stitches
Stamp A Faire 2014: Regency Era (Image stamped on heart)
bird: Nesting
flowers & leaves: Garden Party
Valentine sentiment: Birthday Classics: February & Regency Era
You & Me: The Best is Yet to Be

That's it, my case of Melissa's beautiful card.
I have a PTI bird, and I have so many florals to choose from.
Did I feel I had to order the new Brushed Birds? You bet!

Happy Crafting!
