Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

This is Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger
"Feather Weather"
and here's my take
Been on a tag kick. Love doing them!
PTI: Tag Sale 6, Birds and Blooms stamps and dies,
Copic colored pearls, Authentique paper,
and some Clovis twiggy stuff, (possibly bird's nest?)
The wreath is vellum die cut and stamped using a technique Heather Nichols showed us a while back.
First versamarked, then stamped with color (Ocean Tides) then clear powder. It produces the soft look I was going for.
The challenge ends this Sunday, come join the fun!
Such a great trigger photo.

MIM #118 Photo Postcards

Ashley shows us all how to turn our favorite photos in postcards at PapertreyInk!
This was so much fun, can't wait to do it often.
Had a photo of a stained glass window I did for my mom years ago.
Couldn't wait to turn it into a thank you for her.
'You Scatter Seeds of Kindness' from Year of the Flowers Collection.
'Thank you' sentiment from the new Ruby Rose.
Copic colored the Ever.
Backside
Masked off the dotted line from Journaling Lines.
Lots of flowers from Mini Blooms stamped in the colors of the stained glass.
Thank you's a bit hard to see in the 1st photo, so here's a closeup. Coloring it in helps to pop it a bit.
MIM Photo Postcards lasts until Sunday. Plenty of time to join the fun!

Has to be my favorite photo. Love that crock pot with the blue print.
Fortunately my order arrived with the new Ruby Rose stamp and dies.
Clear embossed everything but the leaves.
Birds and Blooms wreath embossed in white behind all the die cuts (twice).
I saw a bit of Sweet Blush in the photo so went with it too.
Can you see all the PTI paper, stamps, dies, inks and embossing powders?
Hard to see, but there's a few black rhinestones in the middles of the flowers.

Moxie Fab world Card Set Challenge

Moxie Fab World is hosting a Card Set Challenge

Broke out my PTI card holder printout. Used this before, and love that it looks so sweet holding notecards and envelopes as a set. The inside holds 8 cards and envelopes, unless you add embellishments like buttons that get a bit bulky. Therefore mine is a set of 4.
A sewing theme using PTI's Signature Series: Dressform, several fun buttons from a way too large stash.
Papers are from Echo Park's 'Sweet Girl'.
It featured a hexagon paper that looked like a summer quilt.
Using the hexagon stamps from PTI's stampset allowed me to repeat colors and shapes on the cards and envelopes.
Cardstock is PTI (the best!), various PTI inks, washi tape: Freckled Fawn.
Closeup of red embossed dressform.
You have until June 3rd to enter the cardset challenge.

MIM #117 Paper Piecing

MIM this week features a tutorial by Melissa Phillips on Paper Piecing.
The first time I saw this done was by Melissa on one of her phenomenal layered cards.
I must admit, it wasn't until she shared her insights that I picked up on some
of the tricks!
You might call it "Piecing 101"!
Here's Hello Foxy all pieced together!
First chose some pattern paper from Echo Park's 'Sweet Girl'.
From there just went with the colors. Lots of simple patterns, and PTI's sweet "Hello Foxy" stamp set did all the work. OK, I fussy cut some!
Melissa is a design genius. I could study her techniques forever.
Each element hilights, accentuates and jaw-drops!
Check out her tutorial here:

Moxie's Tag Challenge #2

Did another set for 'All Things Tinsel' on Etsy, this time
using PTI's Table Service stamp and die set.
Inspiration came from a set of Madonna Inn goblets.
PTI tag, cardstock, felt & ink.
Silver embossing powder, Prima flower, stash ribbon.
Set of 8 'Dinner is Served' Tags

MFW's Gift Tag Challenge

I have 'gifted' my daughter hundreds of tags for her Etsy shop.
She does the most amazing jewelry, mostly bridal, and with them is a handmade tag.
Fortunately business is booming, tags run out, and mommy (who loves doing them), just keeps making them!
Cath, over at Moxie Fab World, has challenged us with 'Gift Tags'.
Did I mention I LOVE making tags?
1st, a set of 4 using Tim Holtz' Dressmaker set
This dressform just screamed 'chalkboard'!
Smokey Shadow cardstock with a handmixed embossing powder (tan + pink).
Yes you can mix your embossing powder, just try it on scrap to see if you like it.
I wanted a pale blush which I didn't have, so I mixed.
Wand and Thanks from a Crafty Secrets Fairy stamp set.
Did a set of 4.
Handpleated the vintage fabric on the bottom, adding to an already statuesque tag, 7"!
Cinderella's godmother came by and sprinkled 'fairy dust' on the mulberry rose.
She and I have collabed on many-a-project!

MIM #116 Adding Texture to Stamps

So happy for Monday this week.
My whole family 20+ celebrated Mother's Day at our house!
I'm stamping instead of cleaning! (Can you relate?)
Betsy Veldman used a comb to texturize a stamp. Then we were challenged to put texture to stamp.
Here's what soft sliced styrofoam can do to petals from Happiness in Bloom.
On a piece of Ocean Tides I created a wallpaper background of Fresh Snow blossoms, then Harvest Gold, then Avocodo centers.
Medallion is also crosshatched with the soft styrofoam. Only I alternated colors of ink onto Ripe Avocado die cuts. Vellum separates them.
Felt and tissue leaves. Acrylic brad.
Feeling thankful from Signature Greetings II.
Check out Betsy's tutorial on Nichole Heady's Blog here:

MIM#115 Beyond Paper with Impression Plates

Heather Nichols takes us to the hardware store with this week's challenge at PapertreyInk.
She used a foil tape and impressed it.
My Sweetie is a retired contactor, so I quizzed him about leftovers he's put away in our garage/blackhole. Sure enough, no trip to Lowe's for me! He had a whole role.
Got out my cuttlebug folders and had a ball.
Did 2 cards for this challenge. 1st one, not so thrilling, seemed like I tried too hard. (Why does that never work?)
The tape is die cut with The Twist Impression plate. Needed another Mother's Day card, so went with The Sweet Life stamps and dies.
Ocean Tides cardstock, and pretty paper from The Secret Garden.
Heart Border die, and Happy Mother's Day from Mother embossed on a PTI baner.
Aleene's Paper Glaze is applied to the whites of the roses, and along the edges of the leaves.
And because I can never leave these alone, vintage lace edging along the side.
The whole card would have been better with a white lattice, I think, but a challenge is a challenge is a challenge...

Card 2: Better

The industrial foil just screams teen birthday.
My grandson turns 'big 13' next month. This will be his card.
The tape was first cut with Wine Bottle Tag die, then empressed with a cuttlebug folder.
Be very careful at this point, the foil is a trickster. I cut the wine tag with a piece of cardstock to mount my foil on. Keeps it manageable.
By the Numbers 13, popped up on a die cut white shimmer circle, and that popped up on a pinked sea shimmer circle. Across the top is a star border die cut from copper shimmer paper.
The new shimmer paper is a favorite! Ordered the sampler, but I can see a need for buckets of certain colors!
As you know, there are times when the card angels are aiding. That happened to me as I embossed the "yay!" onto this card. Ah, sweet times!
All mounted onto sapphire shimmer paper (LOVE!)
Might just do a few more, went a little crazy with the foil tape!
Heather, thank you!
