Paper Sweeties - February 2014 Blog Hop #16

Welcome to Paper Sweeties February Blog Hop!

Debbie has given us this  wonderful, festive photo
together with these Valentine colors for inspiration.

I have a couple of projects to share with you.
Princess Abigail is dressed in her finest, and ready to grant your wish!
Abigail has her own die, as do all the PS dolls.
Princess gown, crown and wand from Dream A Little Dream.
Loved dressing her in a little handmade tulle skirt!

Background from Borders, and dotted frame from Beautiful.
It was such fun adding the bling with Stickles and rhinestones!
Did you know Paper Sweeties now sell twine and sequins?
So many colors, you have to check it out!
New Paper Straws too!

A candy coach for Princess Abigail!
I cut out the pillow box, red embossed the carriage, (Life is a Special Occasion )
& hand cut the window.
Found these jelly hearts at Target. Very hard to stop eating them!

Stamped and white embossed the wheels, fussy cut them and added
a few red pearls (copic colored).

I tied the candy box with a strip of velvet pink flowers, some red and white twine and
a big bow of Paper Sweeties Seam Binding.

Can't wait to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you!
Here's the list:

Merry Monday #93 & MIM #150

This week we're to use an ornament (s) on our Christmas cards
on the Merry Monday Christmas challenge blog.

and since I adored Melissa's video on Nichole's blog,
I decided to combine the two for another
Window Screen Card.
Pretty much her layout, and layering!

The deer is cut from American Crafts Pow Gold DP.,
The background (love Melissa shared technique!) stamped in gold with fir from Peaceful Pincones.

PTI: Stamper's Select Cardstock, aqua mist damask dp, vellum
PTI: Peaceful Pinecones stamp and die sets, In the Meadow sentiment,
Fancy Flakes die
Memory Box deer, Lil Inkers Oval and Rectangular dies,
Spellbinders Nestibilities Heirloom Ornaments
Stampendous EB Powder
Encore Metallic Gold Ink

All the ornaments 'hung' on the antlers are double embossed, first in gold then frosted with
Shabby Blue and Shabby Pink.
I added a bit of glitter to the frame and pinecone.

MIM #150

This week's Make it Monday on Nichole's blog features Melissa
showing us some of her limitless talent, under the heading of
Window Screen Cards.
Her layering techniques are eye candy, and I tried each and every one that I could fit on my card!
Trying very hard to come up with my own version of her perfection,
I gave in to 'just go with it!'

I watched the video twice so I could make note of what & how,  and all those Melissa yummies.
My recipe?
PTI everything but the sequins, sewing thread and twine.
Limeaid Ice and Winter Wisteria were the 2 contrasting colors I started with.
Floral fun from Doodlie-Do.
Mighty Oak Cover Plate
Limitless Layers Ovals dies
Smokey Shadow Leaf Print dp.

Watch and learn, folks, the wow is in the details!
Melissa's video can be found here!

PTI Jan. Blog Hop #4

One last post for the January Blog Hop at PTI
Just loved the Polka Dot Parade #11 by Melissa Bickford.

Did a set of double tags in pink.
Paper pieced the white embossed owl.

Googly eyes are the perfect addition!

Hop along now, there's more to see!

PTI Jan. Blog Hop Pt.3

A fun Valentine sachet created with PTI heart dies,
Stitched Hearts & Limitless Layers scallop Heart.
Fern leaves from The Best is Yet to Be Die Collection.

Loved the sweetheart felt ornie in the sample photos Nichole gave us.
Decided to make some sachets as gifts using PTI's Stitched dies.

I've been crocheting small hearts for my Valentine cards.
They're quick and simple, and can be done in any color, and just about any size,
depending on the yarn/string you use.

Sachet Back

These are so simple, and can be done assembly line style.
Filled with dried Lavender

Blog Hop plays all day!
Can't wait to see all the goodies created!

JUGS Color Challenge #224

Just Us Girls has a color challenge this week.

The blues I used are Papertrey's Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist, and the challenge called for Kraft,
which I used as a card base.
Valentines' Day is fast approaching, and in my family, that means cards for 10 1/2 grandchildren.
OK, and for their parents too!
My card is full of new Valentine dies.

Memory Box Heart Border die,
PTI's Stitched Hearts die, and Cupid's Arrow die
The lacy heart is from Hero,
white ink stamped onto PTI's Dark Chocolate and fussy cut.
The sweet valentine card is from Jillibean Soup,
the heart paper clip from Pebbles.
And as you can see, I blew ALL my Christmas money on new scrapbooking 'toys'!
I'm in Happy Land right now!

MIM #149: Glitter Embellishments

It's Monday, and that means Make It Monday at PapertreyInk.
Heather Nichols demonstrates how to embellish a die cut with different
colors and sizes of glitter.
I wanted to create a Valentine and use the new Framed Love Die.
Anything larger than MS's fine glitter would take away from the lovely script, so I stuck with
the fine.

The framed love is backed with vellum, and was almost impossible to keep stray sprinkles from straying. Part of the 'fun' with using glitter!
Background Basics: Medallion stamped in Raspberry Fizz and Orange Zest.
Martha Stewart glitters: Onyx, Hemitite, Purple Saphire, Antique Silver, and Crystal.
Frame: Tourmaline
Heart dies from Cupid's Arrow and and The Best is Yet to be.

Fusion #2

There are some new challenges out there that offer some great inspiration.
Fusion is one that I wanted to try.

The challenge is use either the sketch or the photo
or both.
I think I had both in mind when I created my card.

For the bouquet photo I used Memory Box's Brea Ornament and Aubrey Bloom Set
layered onto Lil Inkers Stitched Cover.

Double Ended Banner die
Beautiful Blessings sentiment
and card stocks all PTI.

You'll find the challenge here:

Merry Monday #91 Snowman

The Theme at Merry Monday this week is snowmen (or snow people)

Loving NOT putting my Christmas supplies away!
Used PTI's Shape Up Series: Snowman and Limitless Layers Circle (to make him a shaker, a must for a grandma of 11!),
and Shape up Snowman Accessories stamp set.

He was cut so it formed a card.
Accessories cut in felt and some scrap wool for his scarf.
Accented with crystal Stickles and colored wood snowflakes.
Still time to play!

Welcome to the Paper Sweeties January Release Rewind!

It's been a baking frenzy at Paper Sweeties.
If you love cupcakes, birthday sentiments and baking images, you'll love everything
in this January release!

Freshed Baked has this image of a birthday cake, which I've pieced and mounted on
a wire hand formed stand.
The strawberry image is from another newly released set, Cupcakes & Sprinkles.
Sentiment from Stand Add on 6 and sweet posie from Sending Sweet Thoughts.
Besides the card, here's some ideas for using these adorable sets.

A tag for a birthday present

And what's a party without straws!

The Card Concept 1

Hi friends!
I'm so excited to share a new challenge blog with you
called The Card Concept.
It's a bi-weekly challenge blog with
several very talented designers to inspire (VERY talented!),
and this is their very1st challenge!
Here's the challenge photo:

It's as simple as using the photo's colors
and choosing one of 6 style themes.

I'm a layering girl, so when I saw one of the styles was Clean and Layering,
I was in!
I quickly connected to Kay and Kerin with their lovely layered samples.

My card features Lil Inkers Stitched cover plate layered over a pink pattern paper, all over
PTI's Melon Berry cardstock.

And then more layers!
Happy Birthday medallion: PTI 2012 Birthday Tags
Ink: PTI Smokey Shadow
Cork border: Spellbinders Nestibilities Labels 4
Bigger Blooms &Turning a New Leaf dies: PTI
I'm absolutely smitten with the new Lunette and Oriel Butterfly dies from Memory Box!

I spritzed the wings with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst 'Teeth Chattering Teal'
for a bit of shimmer.

Had some fun layering the clear embossed posies around.
Added some Stickles to the centers of a few of them.

Sorry about the long post, but I couldn't take a bad picture today.
How often does that happen?!?!?!

Be sure to visit The Card Concept, and see what style you would create.

There's a PS!
I'm awed by the challen'gees'
Wow there are some gorgeous entries!

PPS, Possible Classy & Elegant? Hard to decide.
Thanks Cathy for clarifying a bit!
