Happy September! And Welcome to Paper Sweeties

Here's our Inpiration photo for September:

Sweet frosty pink pumpkins!

You have all month to play along, can't wait to see
what you come up with!
Find the challenge here:

Here's a bit of inspiration from me to you, using Abigail and Jake.
I paper pieced their outfits from Enjoy Your Day, & Happy Fall Y'All.
The Fence is from Home Tweet Home & has it's own sweet cuts!
Pumpkins can be found in Stand Add-On: Fall Harvest,
Sweeties Wagon, & Happy Thanksgiving.
And, those petaled sequins, love!

More sweet inspiration here, from the design team, cheek it!

Festive Friday #39

The latest Christmas challenge with Festive Friday,
is this holiday rustic photo:

What inspires you?
For me, the lively boughs, the rustic sign,
and,
that wonderful festive script!
Waltzingmouse!
No one does beautiful Christmas script like Waltzingmouse Stamps.
(Not to mention their Festive Foliage stamps and dies!)

Played around with colors on the top die cut,
stamping and rolling in
PTI's Pinefeather, Dark Chocolate and Ocean Tides Inks.
All is Bright DP from My Minds Eye.
Stamped more pine boughs on the bottom frame in
PTI Classic Kraft Ink.
Sentiment is embossed with Lindy's Stamp Gang's
Midnight Copper.
A bit of Viva Glitter Liner on the pine and cones.

A 2 weeker at Festive Friday.

Merry Monday #123 Use a Wreath

Bonnie says, 'Use a Wreath', in the latest Merry Monday challenge.

I found an old rubber stamp, (Hero Arts, I think) and
heat embossed it with 3 iridescent powders from Lindy's Stamp Gang.
I then stamped Distressed Stripes from PTI with Versamark and
brushed on Perfect Pearls.
The festive wreath in the photo is decorated with Christmas ornaments,
and I couldn't resist doing the same to my wreath,
using lots of fun bling from my stash.

SAF 2014 Closing

All 9 of the challenge cards in the only clean room in the house!
It's been a fabulous Stamp-A-Faire, the best yet!
Thank You to all who made it possible.
Can't wait to go back and fill in all the little details,
and maybe do a few more cards!

Time to unpack my bags (uh, clean the craft room...)

A few winks before I start the blog hop...

SAF 2014 Time After Time

Our final card challenge from the Stamp-A-Faire
is called Time After Time,
and we are to choose a card from our beginnings with card making,
and re-do, hopefully better, pointing to improvements.

The original is a card made with one of my first PTI stamp sets, Frilly Flowers.
I won't bore you with details, but,
 it's oversized,
overlayered,
over colored,
and over embellished.
and you can't even find the sentiment!
(No wonder I never sent it!)

I still enjoy the elements of color and layering,
but all the fabulous MIM techniques of quiet and thoughtful
placement of the elements,
with the sentiment as the star,
have hopefully not been wasted on me!

I thought it only fitting to use the free stamp set included in this year's SAF kit,
and together with a few rainstones and a die cut frame from Betsy's Shakers and Sprinkles,
my recreation allows my sentiment to shine.
It, by the way, says exactly how I feel about the joy of the past 3 days.
Yes, 3!
There were definite times I had to search for JOY!
My computer crashed on Friday night,
family showed up on Saturday,
Sunday afternoon was spent in the Apple Store,
(finding a fix for my mac)
and today Monday, my craft room, though a mess, is the best looking room in the house!
(Family left last night)

So, I plan to spend this Monday re listening to
all the fabulous videos,
playing all the wonderful music,
while I do a few more cards,
catching up to all my stamping bff 's cards,
and commenting,
and commenting,
and definitely finding my joy today!

Papertrey, you're the tops!

SAF 2014 Challenge 13 Retro Rainbows with Lexi Daly

Lexi has 2 fun tutorials for the 80's,
and I plan to do a card with the folds,
but had to play with glasses and rainbows first.
Challenge 13: Retro Rainbows

Can't wait to see what you all have done.
The weekend was challenging, trying to play along and
having family as well.
Today is quiet, so will get some peeks and comments in!

SAF 2014 The 60's with Erin Lincoln

Challenge 12 with Erin Lincoln has us thinking 60's radical!
We're encouraged to actually clash our colors, chose non-symmetry, and
think about a time when rebellion was norm!
Really, Erin... I'm a grandma now!
But... how quickly it all came back (tee hee!)
You know I actually HAD an avocado refer? (refrigerator!)

Erin provides all the shapes, dies, patterns I needed to make this card.
Can't wait to play with more of this set.
Wonderful tutorial, Erin!

SAF The 1940's with Betsy Veldman

It's 40's with Betsy Veldman!

She gets us 'in the mood' with song and verse.
That's right, she even wrote a wartime love letter!
This era begins with creating a card corsage.

I sort of combined the 2 video challenges she did.

Betsy encourages us to use symmetry and color much as
a 40's table cloth.
With the use of the stamps included in the 40's set, I made a
background, then fussy cut my 'corsage' card, turned it,
and added my felt posies, leaves, and a tiny tag with sentiment.

SAF The Roaring Twenties Challenge 7

Celebrating in Style with Heather Nichols and the 20's.

Making my own blinged bauble embellishment with some hints from Heather.
Way too much fun.
Now I know what to do with my stash of rhinestones!

Created the background with one of the stamps included in the 20's set

SAF Regency Era with Melissa Phillips

Antique Embossing with Melissa Phillips

It's been awhile since I've inked up Simply Jane.
I like the cameo couple with the embossed gold frame.
Background paper created with the frame stamp from Regency Era set

SAF Ancient Rome Mock Mosaics

Traveling through Rome with Lizzie Jones

Lizzie Jones' tutorial with mosaics and a die included in the Rome set.
Paper on top also come with the Roman era.
My embossing paste is translucent, and with the Ocean Tides reinker
added looks like glass!
Urn is copper embossed and fussy cut.

Stamp-A Faire: The Renaissance with Nichole Heady

Velvet stamping with Nichole

All I can say is,
Gorgeous, gorgeous dies and tutorial by Nichole Heady.
Almost a CASE of hers, but used an embossing folder on the Plum Pudding.
And a few red rhinestones!

Let's see if the embossing paste is dry...

SAF 2014 Friday Night Meet & Greet!

Good Friday evening to you!
It's Friday night and that means it's time
for the long awaited PTI SAF meet & greet.

My craft room is neat and ready to go (as neat as I can get it!)
Spent today getting my supplies together.
Looking forward to a day of crafting.
Hugs until tomorrow!

The Cutting Edge Challenge #8

I found a new challenge blog (new to me anyway!), while
visiting my friend Marybeth's blog,
called 'The Cutting Edge'.

It's all about creating with die cuts!
Sound fun?
You can check out the latest challenge here:

Kay Miller's die cut beauty is our inspiration,
and I tried to capture the bright free floral feeling of her card.

The dies I used are from Memory Box:
Kensington Branch (cut 4 times), & Piestra Tile.
The Embossing folder is a Cuttlebug I inked with a few Tim Holtz inks
Copic colored a few pearls for the flower centers,
& sentiment from Topiary Trio (PTI).
I love dies, and layers, so this looks to be a regular playground for me!
