Inchies with MIM

What fun this was, from start to finish.

Lexi shows us a technique called, 'inchies', and with her fabulous tips

I made this card.

She demonstrated how to create bg interest in the 1 inch strips before stamping the image. 

She used small images, and I did too, but not on all the squares. She used sides and corners,

not just the centers to do the stamping. Loved how she popped

up the cubes with foam. And I have enough extras to do another card!

12 Kits of Occasions: June '18: Sum sum Summertime!

Hi everyone! The last day of the month means 12 Kits of Occasions!

We're 12 friends who receive the same kit each month and make wondrous

creations from all the goodies! Well, cute projects anyway...

 I made some fun cards with the kit sent from Michele Ferguson (I card everyone).

It's always a treat to see what bits of Michele humor she tucks into her kit!

Most of the images I hadn't seen before. If you know Michele, you know

she's creative, innovative and full of humor! Love her!

My first card uses the images from Waffle Flower Crafts (new to me) and I'm 

crazy about the free hand cas drawing that allows me to color.

note: At this posting, I'm visiting a daughter and her family in Newport Beach, CA,

and have to giggle at the joy in happily shedding clothes in summer...

Hooray for beach life!

Had to make a tri-fold card to get all 3 boys in the picture.

MFT's Strike up the Band bunnies are celebrating the 4th with CAS-ual Friday's sentiment.

Card Concept Challenge: Golden Table

Hello everyone! And welcome to some inspiration for the newest 

Card Concept Challenge: Golden Table.

What inspired my Classy Elegant and layered card?

Oh my, that gorgeous floral arrangement in pinks and corals,

and of course the touches of gold! 

Botanical Bounty 2 from PTI gave me the blooms to create my bouquet.

The 'for you' sentiment die was gold embossed several times to get

that thickness. And the dew drops are from Betsy Veldmans's

Make It Market Shakers & Sprinkles.

PTI June Blog Hop '18

Hello everybody! It's the 25th and that means time for a blog hop.

PapertreyInk's Blog Hop, where our inspiration was this photo of

riotous color!

Now when I see an inspiration photo, sometimes I go for mood or 

certain items, sometimes a color scheme or style, but today I went literal... 

those colorful popsicles!

The only way to come close to those wow colors was Lindy's Magicals. My

friend Marcia Hill (Marcia's Stamping Pad) introduced them to me, 

and it's been love ever since!

In each little powder filled jar, there's a bit of mica flakes. I wish you could 

really see the shine! Magical!

Two-fer Challenge #6 ~ Trees!

I'm so excited to be playing along at the latest Two-fer Challenge. It's Darnell's brain

child, where we're challenged to use the same stamp (or die) 2 different ways and 

create 2 different cards for 2 different occasions.

This month's key word is 'Trees'. 

I chose a die set from Frantic Stampers called, Lollipop Trees.

1st card:

I used my lollipop trees the traditional way, and set them in a window created with 

MFT's Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle die. Then framed the window with PTI's

Coverplate: Nesting. 

Have you ever worked with Lindy's Stamp Gang's Magicals? 

It comes in powder form, and when you apply water, the effect is well, magical!

The trees are die cut from a panel I made from 'hi Maintenance Magenta.'

2nd Card:

On a PTI tag, I made the 'tree' into a triple ice cream cone, with lots of sprinkles. 

The cone is from PTI's Colorful Treats. 

Those cute little sprinkles are actually from a PTI die!

Flowers in Reverse: MIM with Dawn

Hi! I'm playing along with Dawn McVey and Papertrey's MIM,

where we're challenged to feature our flowers in reverse. Instead of Dawn's usual 

bold colorful florals, she keeps them white, and adds color to the

accenting leaves.

I did 2 cards, with die cut elements Dawn suggested we do

before assembling our card. 

1st card is built on a trellis created with Coverplate Stripes Diagonal.

Heather first showed us this during one of PTI's releases. 

Going through my PTI sets, I didn't find enough pierced greenery, so I used a Neat & 

Tangled Flower Medallion Builder die.

With that exception, all else is Papertrey.

2nd card uses the background stamp, Text & Texture: Roses.

So many left over die cuts, I could do several more cards!

The patterned paper is PTI's older dot paper. And the dots are Nuvo Crystal Dots.

Owl Cherish Our Friendship: The Card Concept

Hi and welcome! The Card Concept has a new challenge for you:

 'Owl Cherish Our Friendship'.

How was I inspired? The square shape of the pillows, fabric patterns, and of course,

those darling owls! 

I needed a card for a friend who announced her pregnancy recently, 

and chose the whimsical owl from Papertrey's Polka Dot Parade #11.

I love the term 'glowing' for an expectant mother, and created the word with 

Concord & 9th's Perfectly Penned stamp set, which has the script letters

 to create the word.

Gave my mom to be owl a sprinkle of glitter to 'show the glow'.

Then I went over the word with silver Wink of Stella.

Stitched squares: Lawn Fawn's Scallop Box Card Pop-Ups.

Background PTI's Polka Dot stencil & Aqua Mist Ink.

The Challenge runs for 2 weeks, plenty of time to play!

We love seeing which of the styles you use to create your card.

Bloom: Create Along With Us June '18

Create Along With Us: PTI's invitation to case their designer's ideas during

release week.

There's no end to special treats, from color combos to little touches of brilliance!

Melissa Phillips' cards caught my eye on the first day out, particularly this pastel bauble:

From her use of pearls and glitter paper to layers and layers of lovliness, I was hooked!

(get it? Hooked? Under the sea? LOL!)

Enough of me 'fishing' for laughs, here's my take on Melissa's sweet card.

A list of what I used is at the end of my post.

I LOVED using Perfect Pearls on my background, for a subtle texture. 

(Wish you could see the sheen from the pearls) 

And Melissa's idea of the Embossing Enamel was genius! In the air, as well as

under the sea!

Not having the undersea elements (yet!), I used flowers and hummingbird for my

color pop.

Celebrate!

The challenge this week at Papertrey, is to use Lots o' Dots. Michelle Leone

hosts the video, showing how she adds color with Nuvo drops.

Since the 4th is right around the corner (where has this year gone!), I used the new 

Kaboom stamp and die set, embossing in white, and adding Nuvo drops for color. 

The fireworks are so much fun to play with. I cut down the main card front to 3 3/4

by 4 3/4", so I could add the stripe patterned paper and mat in red.

Not exactly Clean and Simple, as Michelle did, but explosive anyway!
