12 Kits of Occasions Party in the Park February '19

Welcome to February's 12 Kits' Post! I'm excited because this month I'm the hostess,
with a kit to celebrate the hope of spring... and a 'Party in the Park'. Outdoors,
friends and family and plenty of sunshine!
LOTS of cards, so let's get started...

1st off is a piƱata from Pretty Pink Posh. Love the fact that you can go crazy with color.
He's hanging on a frame from PTI: Shape Shifters Square. The paper wasn't quite
bright enough, so touched up a bit with matching copics.
All this month's kits' supplies are on the 12 Kits blog, by the way.

The paper dictated this card's elements. Fussy cut flowers and a big 'hooray' from Spellbinders.
Color on the PTI shapeshifters die courtesy of Magicals.

A look back when carousels were in the center of fine parks. Used my metallic
watercolors for the seahorse, and colored the waves with copics.

Echo Park provided the balloon paper, PTI the frame and ballon shaker.

This carousel unicorn in pink is perfect for a girl's birthday!

The rose papers were included, and I combined them for this 'celebrate' card. One rose
paper for the background, and one fussy cut to surround the sentiment.

My favorite is this window tag I included in the kit, (PPP) with Altenew roses.
When you open the shutters, the words 'happy birthday to you' are inside from
one of the double sided papers.

Lastly, I included this little present bearing otter from Lawn Fawn.
Not sure if he belongs in a 'park', but I just loved him, and
had to pass the die cut on to my 12 Kits friends. After all, isn't he celebrating?

That's it from me. I hope you enjoyed February's kit. I loved gathering a bit of
Spring to share with my friends and all of you friends too.
Be sure to visit all of the designers on the blog. I can't wait to see what they've done
with the kit!

His Promises are Forever

Wednesdays are becoming my favorite day of the week. Papertrey's
new lineup of contests are so much fun and offer a bevy of prizes
for playing along.

Laurie wants us to choose one of our favorite dies to create with,
and I love her comparison to trying to choose a favorite child. But, like
I said before, it is possible to narrow it down to a few hundred. (Maybe!)

If you'll pardon a little life story, I'm in the northern part of my state (CA), caring for
grandchildren (3) while daughter and Son-in-Law are on a cruise. With me are the
bare minimum crafting supplies I knew I would need for the next 3 weeks. And among
them is one of my PTI 'Plates' binders'. (Notice I said, 'one of my plates binders').
Coverplate: Marquee was among those plates. It is a frame I can't use enough
to encircle sentiments, florals, and just about any special image.

The frame comes with die cuts that hi light the swirls and
the center piece. I added foam to the frame itself, as well as the
swirls and little piece, which really makes your image a standout.
Below is a list of the the products I used, the links take you to the PTI
store. And I think everything is still on sale.

The Card Concept: Pineapple Party

It's time for a new Card Concept Challenge, and we're having a
party... a 'Pineapple Party'.

I was instantly drawn to the bright tropical colors, and the pineapple
that takes the cake! (Excuse the pun) Definitely inspired by color and theme.

Kinda Bold Classy, mostlyLotsa  Layers, is the style that I ended up with.
All PTI stamps and dies. I made my own stencil (background stripes) with PTI's
Coverplate Stripes Horizontal.

Play along on the Card Concept Challenge Blog. We love to see how the
challenge photo inspires you and what style/styes you use.

Win It Wednesday with Laurie

Win It Wednesday is Papertrey's new challenge... on Wednesdays.
Laurie asks us to choose a favorite PTI color and create with it.
Once again, how do you pick from all the wonderful colors in
the PTI line up?

Laurie narrowed it down to 2, so I chose 2 too.
Scarlett Jewel is one I thought no one would pick, and I decided to give it some love.
And Honey Nut is so rich and vibrant, I picked it as well.
But don't tell Laurie, I love all the PTI colors... equally. It really just
depends on season and mood, and whether it's Christmas or Easter, or
maybe if I'm using white or Kraft. See what I mean?
I love winter, and the deep rich colors that go with it, so Scarlett Jewel it is!

Play along for the week of the 13th - 20th.

Tag You're It: Color Challenge

We're back!
Tag You're It Challenge is back with this color challenge:

Looking at these colors, I was inspired to create a tag using Concord & 9th's
 Marbled Turnabout Stamp Set.

I picked all PTI inks, Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Fine Linen and Aqua Mist.
My tag is Poppy's Pinpoint Main Street Tags & Pinpoint Dome Tag Decorations.
The script, 'howdy' and the cactus are also Concord & 9th: To The Point.

Join in the fun, won't you? Using the inspiration photo,
create a tag. It's as easy as that! And the challenge runs
for 2 weeks.

Hope to see you there!

Love One Another

Inspired By has a challenge I wanted to join, 'Inspired by Love'
with this bright and love-ly photo,

Just had to ink up the new Altenew Build a Flower: Japanese Mum.

The mum stamp is a 3 stamp process, which packs a wow, no matter what colors you
use. I can't wait to try it with other inks.

I made a stencil with PTI's Cover Plate: Horizontal Stripes, and
sponge inked in Sweet Blush & Pale Peony.
PTI's Inspired By: Love sentiment and die cut.
Altenew Garden Treasure stamped posies in Kraft.

The mums remind of the poms in the photo.

The lighter pink mum is popped up with foam.

Thanks for the visit! If you'd like to play along,
you better hurry!

Also joining the Altenew flower challenge for this month

and The Flower Challenge,

And it is my latest flower acquisition (thank you Marcia!)

Hope your day is full of crafty goodness!

Inspired By....love

A Watered Garden

Welcome! I'm excited to be playing along with a new challenge at PTI,
Laurie's Fabulous Favorites.
Laurie started things rolling with her favorite stamp set, and challenged
us to pick ours for a card.
Somewhat like picking a favorite child, but I narrowed it down to about
110, and selected Farmer's Market Florals.

Stamps that warm the heart, that's Farmer's Market Florals. Paired it with
Bold Borders Foliage and Garden of Faith.

We've had a lot of rain so far this year, after a long drought, and it
looks like the roses are ready bud. I know I say it every season,
but spring in our valley is the closest thing to heaven!

A little bit of foam popping, and my card is ready to brighten someone's
winter day.

Laurie mentioned she loves the PTI florals. Me too! And I love the
multi stamping stamps as well.

Now for the best part of this challenge: 100.00 gift certificate!
Play along on the PTI blog!

PTI's newest Giveaway

PTI has a new 'giveaway' on their blog, and I'm so excited to play along!
Michelle Leone has created this beauty:

and we are asked to post it to our instagram account. Extra bonus is to create
our own card using one of the sets she has used.

The Heart Coverplate has not seen use for awhile, and I just had to bring it out
and show it some love.

I've been playing with alcohol inks, reminding myself how much fun they are.
Dawn McVey took them to a new level with her touches of gold.
(Dawn McVey on Instagram)
If you've never used alcohol inks, I suggest You Tube, or Pinterest for  great
tutorials.

This is the piece I worked on. It's a special paper called Yupo (amazon),
with Ranger Alcohol Inks (Watermelon, Sailboat Blue & Pool).
Together with Blending solution and gold foil, the finished product
looks like precious agate. LOVE!!!
I did 3, no use wasting the messy work surface, and yes your work
surface should be covered. Gloves... optional.

Here's a shot of what I used to make my card. PTI shimmer card stock, onyx, white
and pink cut with the dies. Before gluing them to the colored surface,
I staggered the 3 colors just a bit so the hearts would look like little frames of color.

A few sequins, and done.

You can see the shimmer in this photo.

If you play along with the 'Giveaway', be sure to post your card on Instagram,
for double prize!

I'd love to know what you think of alcohol inks. Do you enjoy them?

Happy Crafting, all!

L-O-V-E

It's time for another challenge at the Card Concept, and here's the
inspiration photo:

Pure Valentine, and that was my inspiration. Along with red & white and
black (grey) & white.

Perfect excuse to try out the new Stitched Turnabout from Concord & 9th!

I stamped the image all 4 times with PTI's Weathervane. The circle behind the heart is
also stamped with the center image 4 times.
The heart is also C9: Quilted Heart Dies.

The center medallion (PTI: Limitless Layers Circle) is popped up
with foam.

So many ways to play with the inspiration photo. Hope I see you
in the lineup!

Happy Crafting!
