12 Kits of Occasions: August

Welcome to the 12 Kits of Occasions August post!
Today it's all about 'leaves', and our hostess, Marybeth Lopez,
(marybethstimeforpaper) gifted her teammates with leaves of hope
for a much needed fall!

As you probably know, we in California have been in a firestorm lately, and can't wait
for cooler wetter weather. I pray every day for those whose lives are on the line
fighting these awful fires.

Marybeth included a wood grained pattern paper in pastels, and I think I
used everyone for my cards!

I loved the large Altenew letters spelling out 'HUGS' and used an Altenew stamp
to decorate them.

Bold leaves to frame a scripture verse

And another scripture, with a bouquet and bow from the Greetery.

The other designers are sure to wow with inspiration, be sure to
visit them, and spread a little love while you're there!

Keeping Christmas: August

Welcome to August's post of Keeping Christmas. We're a group of friends who post
Christmas ideas for cards, tags and Christmas decorations each month. Hope my
post today inspires you. The holidays couldn't come quick enough for me.

I've used a new Memory Box embossing folder called, Magnificent
Poinsettia. It touts a 3D image creation, and believe me, it's an impressive
embossing!

The first card, is embossed on Kraft, with white pencil with shading. My sentiment
is a new die from Poppystamps, Holly Merry Christmas. And that dp is also
new from Memory Box. Has a gold stripe running through each paper in the pack.

Card #2 was painted with metallic watercolors. Take a closer look for the sheen.

The impression made by the folder is super deep and textural. Let me just say, I use
a die cutting machine that adjusts for the thickness of the embossing folder.

The last card was touched lightly with copics, and then 'painted' with glue,
and sprinkled with glitter.

Each card has an envelope, a promise I made myself when I started with the Keeping
Christmas crew.

The Greetery has a trio of Christmas stencils for the flap of an envelope, one
of which is poinsettia.

Each stenciled envelope completes my card, and will help make life
a little easier during the Christmas rush.

Memory Box also has glitter paper I used for this card.
My supplies will link you to the store.

The Card Concept:

It's time for a new challenge at the Summer Session of the Card Concept.
'Sunset at the Shore'

The shells were my inspiration for my mixed media scripture card.

Betsy's beautiful scripture verses were first stamped, then clear embossed onto
watercolor paper. I used an acrylic stamping block with water colors to 'stamp'
my background.

Such a meaningful Bible verse for today. Might have to do several of these!

 Have a blessed week, friends!

Just Peachy

During the Greetery's latest release, Betsy created a stunning card using the rails from
the Create-a-Crate die set.
And I did something I never do... I just had to case that card!

Betsy's started with a crisp white background, and she dry embossed it with one of the
dies in the set. I used Kraft card stock, and stamped a wood grained image from a
Concord & 9th set, with white ink.

Then from there it's pretty much Betsy's card! The peach lineup, the droplets
of white, even the triplet die cut sentiment. I thought, 'why mess with
perfection'.
The peach stamp is a 3 step process, and half way through several
peaches, I thought of lifting some of the ink with a small dauber. It
becomes even more dimensional with that small step.

We care for and nurture a half a dozen peach trees on our property,
that ripen throughout the summer. Peach jam, peach crisp, peach syrup, and
peach tea, are just some of the goodies to make with peaches.
The Greetery's Peachy Keen is a stamp set that's dear to my peach
loving heart!

Are there summer fruits you wait all year for? Apricots, plums, nectarines
and peaches, and don't forget cherries and figs... seriously couldn't live without
them!

Blessings friends!

Happy Birthday

The Last Card I'm posting today is actually the first one made of 3,
using the Greetery's newest stamps and dies.

Birthday cards are always needed, so I added the sweet banner and plan to send
this to my daughter-in-law at the end of the month.

The background was stamped with Fresh Floral Background stamp, a
favorite, using Altenew's Misty Morning Ink. The grey is slightly
grey, green and blue all rolled into one. Just a perfect color for a
soft background.

Some of the designers, and some of you added splatters to your watering can, and I loved
the effect! Betsy's 3 part stamping makes me LOVE stamping all the more!

The banner from the birthday set is just the sweetest touch tucked into the
bouquet!

Just can't get enough of these new sets. Did you get them?
The flowers, the watering can, and the map is next on the list!

Have a great week, friends, and may you enjoy every moment!

Just For You

Another Budding Beauties Summer from the Greetery, card.

Stamped the watering can from The Greetery's Sprinkled With Kindness,
twice for the overall background. (You have the option to use 3 stamps to create
the image)

The rose is a 3 step stamp. I love using Betsy's technique of sponging on a
little bit darker ink in areas for further shading.

The color combos for the watering can are endless, and I played around with inks and
shading, embossing a few as well.

These are stamped with Altenew Inks, my personal favorite for giving all over
color in one stamping.

Did you order the Sprinkled With Kindness set from the Greetery?
I think, like the jar, it will be one of my 'go to' stamp and dies for year
'round cards!

Blessings for a peace filled week!

You Are a Blessing

Good Sunday to you all!
Had some time to create a card for the Flower Challenge, where the theme this month
 is to Add Sparkle.

Lots of shine and sparkle with the Greetery's new watering can.

It's not always easy to photograph sparkle, but here's a better shot of the
glitter spray and glitter glue I used.

My 'copper' watering can got some sparkle too with green and copper embossing powder.

I only used 2 of the 3 stamping steps for my copper embossed can, and versamarked
onto a teal card stock die cut.

The tiny tag is from PTI, and the sentiment can be found among the
scripture verses in the Stamp Simply Words of Encouragement stamp set.
I'm so grateful for scripture and faith sentiments from the stamp companies.
They make it easy to send God's blessings across the miles!

Hope your week is full of God's Grace!

The Card Concept: Dog Days of Summer

The Card Concept has a new challenge for you, Dog Days of Summer

Before Covid hit us, I adopted a puppy after years of not having a dog.

Ella Belle is a Poodle/Maltese mix (and I'm sure there's more thrown in there),
and she will be one year old next month.
She's won our hearts, despite chewing baseboards, and marking her territory
throughout the house. I forgot how much work training a pup requires!
I decided she's smarter than my husband and me, as we are the ones who
have been trained! She knows when to get me up, when to go for a walk,
when it's time for a treat, and when to alert me that the wind is blowing
outside!
Oh how I love her!

When I saw this puppy die from Simon Says, Lil' Critters: Schnauzer
(Oh I'm sure there's some Schnauzer in her too... she loves to dig!)
I knew I had to have it! For this card, I Copic colored my puppy,
and added sentiment words from Don't Forget to Write,
Betsy Veldman set from PTI.

The fabulously colorful designer papers are from Poppystamps.
Garden Folly is a double sided 6x6 pad.

The Card Concept is trying something new this year. Instead of going on
summer break, some of us agreed to keep it going though the summer.
So far, you all think that's a good idea, and have played along.
Hope you got some inspiration today. Need more? Check out the
Card Concept Blog.

Have a great week, and hope to see you in the lineup!
