MIM #105

Challenge this Monday at PTI: Glitter Trim
Been wanting to try the rainbow look all the designers have been doing.
And, joy of joys, my PTI order arrived late last night, with the 'hello' die amongst the goodies.
Great excuse to use that super pack of Martha Stewart Glitters I couldn't resist because Michaels put it half off?
Victorian border die cut 5 times and done Dawn's way with the Xyron.
Added a striped glitter paper cut at a diagonal. Just didn't look finished without it.
Super simple and fun to do!
Thanks, Dawn!
All Papertrey papers, except the glitter stripe and, of course those MS glitters! (Honestly, I must have 30! But half off? Who can resist?)

PTI Blog Hop for February

4th Post
Hope you're enjoying the 'Hop' going on at Nichole Heady's Blog!
This month featuring Marvelous Monograms.
This card goes to my granddaughter Noelle.
Sweater die cut. 'lace' edging is heart border die.
Corsage is felt cut Beautiful Blooms.

The 'n' is cut out, fairy dusted and recessed inside the flower.
Happy Hopping everyone!

PapertreyInk's February Blog Hop

3rd Post for the Blog Hop at PTI
Nichole gave a tutorial awhile back on bleaching. This monogram tag begins with that technique.
New leaf cardstock turns a lovely yellow when bleached. Stamped shadow in Berry Sorbet, and then when dry, embossed with Zing Grapefruit.
"N" is Cricut cut, from Berry Sorbet Cardstock, and dusted with glitter. Double stacked Beautiful Blooms #1. Largest bloom cut from Limeaid Ice and stamped with Polka Dot Basics.
Just be careful when bleaching. If you see a few splashes here and there, it becomes a happy
happening!

New Leaf and Berry Sorbet scream Spring!
So many fun monograms to see at Nichole's Blog. This is a day full of inspiration, so happy hopping and enjoy!

Blog Hop Feb. PTI

Welcome to PapertreyInk's Feb. Blog Hop!
This month features Marvelous Monograms.
Blog-hop-logo
1st post is another card set for my daughter, featuring her monogram.
Almost everything, Papertrey. I created a presentation piece from the Front and Center #1 die and a Yellow bag from Michaels.
Along with the 8 cards and envelopes are 8 monogram seals cut and stamped from adhesive paper, also from Papertrey.
A few closeups and then, hop along to see all the wonderful creations in the blog hop!

The monogram is computer generated and printed on Soft Stone pattern paper on the card and
vellum tag. To match the dots, I stamped the seals with Polka Dot Basics.
Fit perfectly onto Limitless Layers ovals die!
Any questions? I'll gladly share. But run along and see what everyone else has come up with!
Can't wait to see myself! Happy Hopping!

MIM #104

Making Pinwheels
Ashley did the tutorial for MIM at PapertreyInk this week.
She challenged us to use handmade pinwheels on our projects.
If you're making the smaller pinwheels from the squares die, she recommends (and so do I)
the lighter weight pattern pack.
The summer sunrise yellow paper is woodgrain embossed. (Hard to see in photo)
Vintage picnic, card basics, double ended banner, and leafy border dies
Summer sunrise, white, enchanted evening, leafy green, and spring rain cardstock
Other: PTI twine, baby buttons (Hancock Fabrics), red and white twine (the Twinery)
blue button from my stash

The inside gets the picnic basket filled with flowers from the Strawberries stamp set.
Hand drawn stems and leaves.
This card is off to my mom. She hasn't been doing well, and I hope the colors and sentiment will cheer her.

PTI Anniversary Challenge Watercolors

It's a  watercolor challenge, as PTI's Anniversary celebration continues.
Working with inks are similar to watercolors, but they have their challenges!
The alcohol in them dries quickly, so you have to move quickly!
Year of the Flowers: Marigolds
Sentiment: Ribbon and Bows
Ink: Re-inkers, just about everyone I had!

PTI Color Challenge #4

4th Challenge for PTI's Color Challenge

Color-inspiration-5
I love the colors and this inspiration photo.
Lovely Layers stamp and dies

Color Challenge No. 3

Color-inspiration-3
Challenge #3
Can't say I'm happy with the results. Watercolored the bird squares from Take Three Summer, and stamped them with Plum Pudding. But the watercolor paper I used looks like a dirty purple.
The hello Sunshine embossed with a recollection powder from Michaels is going in the trash!
We learn from using which materials are good and which are bad.
As Nichole has said, "there's nothing like the best tools".
Live and Learn!
I really liked the color combo, just not on the card I made.
Is it wine time yet?

PTI Color Challenge

 Color-inspiration-2

Fun layout challenge I found in a magazine, adapted to Nicholes colors in the 2nd challenge,
love these colors togethers.
Vintage Picnic stamp and dies, Background Basics: Farm and Barn.
Copic coloring on apples (Thank you Debbie Olson!)

PTI Anniversary Color Challenge

Monday's challenge at PTI? A Color Challenge!
Color-inspiration-1
I have the whole day to play along. O Happy Day!
Will try each and every combo.
Beautiful pastel choices given by Nichole.
Focused on the bedside lamp, and used lighten up series, framed with quatrafoil.
A thank you card for someone, all ready to go!

PTI Anniversary Challenge - Take 2

More tags for All Things Tinsel
This time for the Tinsel for Tots.

Printed in ink from On the Farm
Just love this stamp set! And the bigger tag die set is perfect for the smaller children's jewelry.
Heatset the Farm and barn chicken wire with an iron (Thank you Betsy!)
Soon to buy my sweet bags from Papertrey. Whoo hoo!
A few closeups

It's a good day when you can spend it doing what you love!

PTI Anniversary Celebration

More fun going on at PapertreyInk! This day's challenge celebrates a new dept. of bags and embellishments.
My daughter needed more tags for her jewelry sold on Etsy, so mama used the challenge to do her a few tags!
Marybeth inspired this one.
She got a shout out for her beautiful tag, because of it's depth.
I popped out the center of one of PTI's tags, stamped Mat Stack 5 in smokey shadow, and dressed a Signature Series dress form up with bitty pearls.
My daughter Alisa's jewelry shines for brides and their maids, not to mention her mommy, who loves to show off her daughter's talent!
Every purchase comes with a handmade tag (mom's handiwork), this one popped off a Background Basic: Wrought Iron Kraft tag. She asked for a 'thank you on each one, with her stamp, 'All Things Tinsel' printed on a die cut banner on back.
I attached it with gold thread so the receiver could detach it and use the tag again.
Stamped this one first with Delightful Doilies.
Another with Delightful Doilies, and Alisa's gorgeous chain draped over the tag.
Hard to see, but edged in silver ink. I think it's my fave. Just like the overall look.

Finally one stamped with a rubber stamp (unfortunately rarely used and gathering dust!).
All 6 together
And a closer look at the necklace she made me!
Look hard and you can see the tiny sewing machine charm, represents years of sewing for kids and grandkids, now it's used for sewing cards!
Alisa's site is: allthings tinsel.etsy.com
She started an online store for children too: 'Tinsel for tot's.
I know, I'm her biggest fan. But she's been shown in several bridal magazines and Bridal shoots.
She does custom, and uses vintage pieces she has collected from all over the world!

Hope you're all having fun playing  along with PapertreyInk this week.
Their release promised to be a showstopper!
