What's the challenge?
Create a Paper House
Nichole even gave us a template to use,
which I did use to make my Christmas cottage.
The days are rather busy this time of year, my family is already here for Thanksgiving (19 in the house!), and it didn't help to have the flu last week (no I didn't get a flu shot, next year it's on my to do list!. Does it really help?) I had big plans to let loose with this challenge. But life interfered, and I only did this one. But she won't be lonely.
I collect paper houses and bottle brush trees, and over the years set them into a village at Christmastime.
My little candy cane house fits right in!
Maybe next year I'll do some more. The possibilities are endless, and Pinterest has some wonderful inspiration. Look up Putz House. You'll be in a wonderland of sugar plum goodness!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous little house Nancy - fits in with your village beautifully! I love a full house for Thanksgiving - enjoy every second and be thankful the flu was last week (I aways got flu shots when working, but not since being home with kids so not sure how much of a difference it makes).

ReplyDeleteSaw your house at 10:00 this morning, looked at it, and ran out the door. (Think that sentence doesn't quite work the way I wanted it to.) First thing when I returned six hours later, I came back here to leave a comment.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Did you do a great job, but with all that free time on your hands, of course you would. I love the high contrast of the red and white, and realize now, that it is especially important when working with such a small scale.
Did you have a dickens of a time trying to find Papertrey stamps or dies that would work? I noticed that not very many folks played along, which was probably a product of not having the right stuff, or Thanksgiving/Hanukkah/Christmas was occupying time. HOWEVER, if you could do it with the flu and 19 guests, no one else can really have a valid reason.
As always, I will continue to visit often to get my big dose of Christmas creativity. Your house looks right at home in its new neighborhood. There are even wonderful tutorials for making your own bottle brush (sisal) trees - for next year.

Oh this is adorable, Nancy! I just love the candy cane awnings, the picket fency, and that sweet snowflake over the door. This little house fits in with your amazing village perfectly...it doesn't even look like paper!

ReplyDeleteThis is so cute Nancy and it really does fit right in. Glad you're over the flu and you can enjoy your family during the holiday. I've been getting the flu shot for about 5 years now. Haven't gotten sick yet.
