MIM #210: Using Vellum to Soften Patterns

Make it Monday's challenge this week is to soften patterns with vellum.
Lizzie Jones has a great video on Nichole's blog here:

Happy Mother's card came about with
the Rosie Posie stamp set.

My bg was created with the daisy from the set, together with Rosie Posie Step 2.
The striped vellum was cut with Bookmark #1,
and my sentiment from Garden Grace.
There's a strip of Chicken Scratch Gingham under the bookmark tag,
tied with twine.
I used the 0 from Number Clips die, completely smitten with this set!
Daisies look a bit orange in the photo,
but they're really Summer Sunrise, even the 2nd step.
The fussy cut is Harvest Gold with Summer Sunrise.
Hawaiian Shores center,
Soft Stone leaves.
Small daisy is Harvest Gold with Aqua Mist centers.
Always fun to learn something new. Thanks Lizzie!
Who knew there was tape especially for vellum? What a great tip!

  6. Nancy, your cards are always so lovely and one of things that I love the most is that they have so much to look at. Does that make sense? Everything works beautifully together, but there is so much interest with all the different details and elements. I love each one, and right now I'm totally loving this one! Thank you so very much for the sweet birthday wish! You brought the biggest smile to my face and completely warmed my heart.

  20. Oh my, Nancy. You totally outdid yourself. I am in love with this card, and wonder how I can live another minute without that Rosie Posie step 2 set. Honesty, you should be on the PTI design team. I love every little detail about this beauty, most especially your flowers and the colors you chose and the gingham.

  21. Wow, Nancy, I LOVE yours back! This is SO sunny and sensational! I immediately went over to PTI and added that bookmark to my wish list, which I don't recall ever seeing before. I love those slits and really love that you cut it from the striped vellum. The twine, the clip, the colors, the way you stamped the sediment half-on half-off ... MWAH!! Have a great day! Hugs, Darnell
