Well you can file this one under the, 'Who Knew' dept.
Ashley demonstrates using baby wipes to create her designer paper bg,
in this week's MIM at PapertreyInk.
That's right, BABY WIPES!
Ashley shows a couple of ways to use the wipes. I did a card
for my grandson, using the folded or rolled technique.
The reinkers I used are True Black & Harvest gold.
I kept it simple, letting those free form circles show.
After all, it's going to a 17 year old, who's definitely
more interested in the money inside!
The sentiment is black embossed onto a strip of 1 1/4" vellum.
Enamel dots created with Nuvo. Have you tried Nuvo?
Forms the perfect dot, any size you like.
Initial Sentiments: Birthday
The tiny dots randomly stamps are 3 dots from
Paper Clippings: Done in Love.
Also joining SSS Monday Challenge: Masculine
Enjoy your week!
Great card for your grandson.
ReplyDeleteThis is a winner for a 17 year old (especially with $ inside)! Wow - the yellow really pops out of those black circles!
ReplyDeleteHow CUTE is this? LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks perfect for your grandson!! Terrific job with the technique too!!
ReplyDeleteGreat masculine card...and nice idea to roll a smaller baby wipe inside the larger one with a different color!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your grandson appreciates your cards more than you think. Wow, 17.... my grandson will be only turning 6 on June 15th. TFS :)
This is a great masculine card! You should enter it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki, I will!
DeleteHow perfect! Great take in the challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great masculine card Nancy and absolutely perfect for a 17 year old! I've always loved yellow and black together and how perfectly did the rolled technique work for your little circles! FABULOUS card my friend!! :0)
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy!
ReplyDeleteI never ceased to be amazed at your creativity, especially with the MIM projects. This masculine card is fabulous!
This is super, Nancy! Love your two-step "dots", which have a Milky-Way trailing edge. And like everyone is saying, it's perfect for 17 yr. old boy!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is so clever! I love how you created the background and the design is so awesome for a masculine card. Great job!! Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

What a nice looking masculine card! I like how you used two different colors with your baby wipes - really makes those circles pop!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this...what a fabulous birthday card!
ReplyDeleteWell you taught me something new Nancy! I need to try this! Your card look terrific!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning card and perfect for a boy!!
ReplyDeleteLove black and gold so this masculine card is perfection with your baby-wipe circles, Nancy. Chuckled to myself as spell check changed reinkers to reindeer. Very striking card!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathy, didn't even notice. I do love reindeer... just not on this card!
DeleteI really enjoyed this technique, and I like your bold interpretation of it. Two different-sized rolls of baby wipes made wonderful little medallions of color -- great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a classy card! It was a quick and fun technique for sure!
ReplyDeleteYour background is spectacular...Looks like very well made stamps! And your Nuvo drops look like enamel dots. I bought some but haven't taken the time to use it...BEAUTIFUL card!
