This is Halloween!

Good Morning! And welcome to 12 Kits' Halloween post!
Her Royal Highness, (my name for her!) Jeanne Jackna is our
hostess this month.
Jeanne's blog, 'A Kept Life' is a gallery treasure chest,
and you NEED drop by, at least once a week,
to keep up with all her crown jewels.
She IS the most prolific, talented paper artist I know!
Her kit this month, raised the bar so high, well, you'll see in a moment.
Now I hope you're settled in and comfy, 'cuz there's a lot to show.
13, that's right, 13! (Isn't that a Halloween number?)
And they practically did themselves!

I lead with this spooky die cut, only because when I asked my DH, to pick
his fav, he went right to the haunted house. Sometimes they have an eye
for what stands out, sometimes... Ha!

Die cuts, and papers, and spiders, OH MY!

3 preciously plump pumpkins

1 raven, a whole slew of bats

I adore these 3 silhouette children!
This card goes to my daughter who gave us,
Ana, Nate and Noelle, 3 of the 11 blessings in our lives!

All the rest are fun tags, ready to add to a special treat!

The above 2 feature Kay Miller's new stamp set, Spooky Smiles.
I'm happy to say, this is one set I have, and plan to
make many more tags like this for give-away treats!

Hold on, there's more!

This pair of ghosties are mounted on an action wobble.
Can't wait to give this to my 2 year old grandson.

This peeking kitten just needed a stitched heart!

2 glittery glamorous Maskerade masks

And finally, the 13th!

If you stuck with me this far, let me just say, don't forget to visit the other
members of the 12 Kits group. We have 3 guests to visit too!
They're all sure to WOW!

A great big thank you to Jeanne for a most awesome Halloween kit!

Trio of Fall Cards

Ashley's video shows us 3 ways to use our pumpkin stamps
on Nichole's blog for Make It Monday.
Traditional, unique and trendy.
I opted for a trio of A1 size autumn note cards.
This fall, I'm determined to send out almost as many cards as
I will for Christmas.
So many folks I need to send some love to!
Besides, I love the fall season, and LOVE making
Fall cards!
1st up, Traditional

All cards on a Soft Stone Noted: Scalloped A1 die card base.
Friendship Jar Shaker
All pumpkins from: Friendship Jar Fall Fillers.
Heart: Tremendous Tags.
Sequins: Shakers & Sprinkles
(tiny stars from Michaels)
Cardstocks: PTI

My Unique card is not a favorite.
I went for a fall wreath with the pumpkin die cuts and PTI pattern paper,
and added Autumn Acorns, twine and a few sequins.

And 3rd, Trendy

Using an unusual color for the pumpkins.

Just a simple little thank you card, with lavender pumpkins.
Stitched leaves from Songbirds.

Friendship Jar Fall Fillers has so many images, including
the sweet sentiment: 'thankful for you'. (Tiny Tag die)

Hope you get a chance to play along,
love seeing what all you creative people do with the challenges!
Enjoy your week!

PapertreyInk September 2016 Blog Hop

Happy Blog Hop Day!
It's September 25th, and time for PTI's Blog Hop.
Here's our inspiration,

Inspiration everywhere. I chose to go with colors; kraft,
cinnamon, The elements; sprigs and pinecones.
And the rectangular shape.

Just got the Garden Garland die, not sure why it took me so long.
I double cut it and wove it over a striped vellum.
'Bountiful' from Make It Market; Color Pop Autumn
I LOVE the word 'Bountiful'. The word sums up the summer's growing season, and the arrival of fall's time of appreciating plenty.
If I need a birthday card, I can add 'birthday',
or blessings, or Thanksgiving, or whatever. The card is ready.
Thankfully, my order came in time, so added the new pinecones and berryish bouquet from Holiday Greens.
Mixed inks; Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate,
Olive Twist, Americana, Saffron Spice.

Did a few matching tags too.
'Bountiful' is embossed with Stampendous: Pearl Lustre Peridot.

Play along all day! It's so much fun to see how we
each see the inspiration. Looking forward to
enjoying each one!
Happy Hopping!

You are my Happy

Make It Monday with Betsy Veldman and 'Using Florals on
a Masculine Project.'
Betsy's card and video can be seen on Nichole's blog,

Have to say, Betsy's card blew me away, GORGEOUS!
The wood against the florals and wreath.
Eye poppin' drama with those striking contrasts!

My card uses some of the marbled paper, I created over a
crafty weekend. I haven't really put a dent in the stack!
If you haven't done this in a while, check out
you tube. There are so many how to videos.
I used the shaving cream technique, but there are several,
water, oil, even cornstarch!

In The Meadow die, gave me the curve. Too feminine?
Tried to follow the swirls of the marbling.
Florals: Bloomers, Meadow Greens, Spruce & Sprigs.
Sentiment: Happiness in Bloom
Marbling created with PTI ReInkers: Saffron Spice, Terracotta Tile, Melon Berry,
Classic Kraft, Cocoa Bean.
PTI Cardstocks: Stampers Sellect White, Cocoa Bean, Terracotta Tile,
Saffron Spice, & Classic Kraft.
PTI Inks: Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Melon Berry, Classic Kraft.
A bit of copic on the berries. (Thank you Betsy for this tip!)
PTI: Twine

A Day of Marbling

Good Monday to you, (hope it's a good one!).
Playing along with Cas Mix Up's Challenge,
Stamping + Marbling + Your Choice.

I was visiting Marcia Hill's blog,  (Marcia's Stampin' Pad),
and was treated to a craft I hadn't done for ages, marbling. Marcia's blog
is full of great tips if you've never done this.
I followed her lead, and used Gina K's video
that gives easy to follow directions.

note: Cas's Challenge blog has several sites for more techniques
and directions if you don't want to use shaving cream.

One warning: marbling is addicting! As you can see, just couldn't stop!

The Coverplate Sunflower (PTI) cut through my marbled paper,
once it was dry.
I emboss stamped 'blessings' in black on vellum,
added PTI's birthday swoosh,
and added a thin outer frame (PTI's Pretty Frame).

But like I said, just couldn't stop!

The marbling technique I used was to squeeze droplets of ink refill onto a
paper plate filled with shaving cream.
You cut through the droplets with a knife or stick,
gently swirling the color through the foam.
I was going for a fall color scheme, and used
PTI refill colors: Terracotta Clay, Saffron Spice, Hawaiian Shores &
Green Parakeet.

Frame is MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles
Leaves: PTI: Leaf Prints
Sentiment: PTI's Color Pop Autumn.

Last 2 cards used positive and negative die cuts

Simple one layer card using PTI's Best Birthday Die.
Stamped with sentiment from PTI's Fancy Pants Sentiments.

Couldn't let the negative portion go to waste!
Added glitter paper to the balloons, and zing embossed Happy Birthday, with Mustard.
A bit of glitter on the rims of balloons and letters of my sentiment.

So Thankful

Good Saturday Morning!
Thought I'd share some cards I made using my new Paper Clippings die
from PapertreyInk.
I fell in love with the sweet bold sentiment that says it all!

Yesterday was my day to play in the craft room.
Don't you love days where all the time is yours?

Did a bunch of colorful backgrounds with Ken Oliver's Color Bursts.

Have you tried them?
Powdery form coming out, and with a spritz of water, the color explodes!
(Better have a box handy, to contain the explosion!)
I used watercolor card stock, let it dry thoroughly, then die cut
my image.

You really never know what you're going to get as far as color placement,
but you do have a bit of leeway when placing your die to cut.
And that's the fun!

This explosion of color had to have a black bg!
You might notice, each of the die cuts is backed with a
contrasting color. You don't have to double up, but I like the effect
and stability doubling the cut gives.

This blue with green I left intact and just added my die cut in white.

So many left over, for more projects!

All cardstocks (with the exception of the watercolor card stock) PTI.
PTI: Autumn Abundance & Twig Wreath Pattern Paper.
Cardstocks: PTI Kraft, Stormy Sea & Terracotta Clay.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Hope it's crafty!
