The Card Concept: Happy Mother's Day

Welcome friends! It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept, and the photo
inspiration below is a favorite!

Don't you just want to enjoy sitting at this table! I was inspired by the transferware
pot, the crisp blue and clear white, and the gorgeous blooms to create my
Clean and Layered card.

My unforgettable, and awfully missed mom is in heaven, but I created a Thinking
of You card with C9's wonderful new dies. The background stamp is from the
Stamp Market.

I did a quick and loose watercolor on the floral part of the frame, and cut the frame die 3
times, gluing them together for dimension.

Hope you play along. The stunning inspiration photo can be interpreted in so
many ways. Remember to include the photo on your post to be eligible to win.

Have a wonderful week!

The Card Concept: Loads of Lavender

Hi and welcome to my post today. The Card Concept has a new challenge, called,
Loads of Lavender. Check our the the challenge photo.

Colors, subject, and the lavender stems inspired my card. The problem I had
was, I have no lavender plant stamps!

I paired some of Betsy Veldmans' Greetery stamps (Simple Things) with another of her
sets from PTI, Herb Garden.

I call my card Clean and Layered, (maybe not so clean?), definitely layered.
Our challenges are for 2 weeks. Hope you'll read the rules, one of which is to
post the challenge photo on your blog. Can't wait to see how you're  inspired.

Thanks for the visit! See you in the lineup!

Waffle Flower Guest Designer

It's a happy day dance I'm doing today! I get to be a guest designer for Waffle Flower!
My über talented friend, Jeanne Jackna asked if I'd join her team to showcase
WF's April weekly challenge. The theme for April is sewing, and I'm featuring one
of their stitching dies.

I love any sort of needlework, and crosshatch is a favorite.

The die is called Stitchable Pinking Rectangle, just right for any pattern you'd like
to create. They even include one with the die.

Originally I chose these 3 colors of embroidery thread, but changed my mind after
starting the card. (OK, don't judge me, I'm fickle!)

I started with the green, full 6 strands, and carefully counted my holes between the
diagonals. Next the green, then teal, and finally grey and darker green in the opposite
direction. This is a pleasant evening's work while watching TV, and I loved the look of the
pale blue behind and through the unstitched holes.
The added die cut is Waffle Flower's Potted Lily. The sentiment is included in
the stamp set.

Lots of foam pop ups for extra dimension.

Hope you'll play along with this week's challenge, and try your hand at one or more of
Waffle Flower's Pinking dies. There are many in the shop, all shapes and sizes!

Hope you're enjoying a happy healthy spring!
