Silver White Winters

It's time to concentrate on my stash of Christmas cards, and I'm way behind!
How about you?
HLS Watercolor Challenge has a new inspiration for the month of November,
Anything Goes with a twist TAG. Play along for a chance to win a 20. GC to
shop on  the HLS website.

Here's my card, hopefully it will inspire you to play along.

Background stenciled with watered down inks (PTI) on watercolor paper,
and PTI's snowflake stencil.
Then I die cut the tag PTI's Holiday Tag Along die, out, and also cut 4 more from
Winter Wisteria Cardstock.
Silver White Winters also from PTI, snowflakes watercolored and embossed
multiple times.

If you have waterbased inks, they work fine as a watercolor medium, and
blend beautifully!

Hope you'll play along this month, I'd love to see you create!
Happy Crafting!

12 Kits of Occasions October '17: Boo to You!

Happy Halloween Greetings! It's the day before the spooking begins, and
12 Kits of Occasions is bringing you October's post today.
This month I'm the hostess, and I had such a good time putting together a not too frightful
kit for all my teammies.

Thanks to Lindsey, our resident genius when it comes to photographing a bit of
everything included in the kit. Mwah!

No time to waste, hope your cuppa is handy, I have a ton to show you!

Let's start with some brew from Frantic Stamper to kick things off.
By the way, if anything catches your eye, there's a list of products used in the kit
on the 12 Kits blog.

It truly is 'All About the Candy'

Not too long ago Marybeth used this boxcard die from Reverse Confetti on one of her projects.
Had to have it, and loved adding some of the designer papers to decorate it. The haunted town
die cut was included in the kit.

Funny story, my teenage granddaughter is afraid of spiders, which always seem to show up in our
house when she's visiting. Guess who got this card for Halloween? 'Grandma, you're so mean!'

You have to have a shaker in the lineup. The die's from Memory Box.

Kept this card simple to showcase this trio from Impression Obsession.

Does anyone really eat candy corn? But it's like the symbol of Halloween!

I think I used this stamp and die set from Poppystamps more than any other this season.
They are just so darn cute!

Still with me? My last (I promise!) card uses puff paint (Tsukineko Neon Amplify)
to give my pumpkins some dimension.
And that's it for this hostess. Hope you enjoyed it. And hope you visit each and every
teammie and leave some love on their blogs.
I have a prize to give one winner of our drawing, so don't forget to comment!

Hugs, and Happy Halloween!

Wishing you...

Happy to play along with Lizzie, at PTI with a wonderful tutorial on Matting with Glitter.

All the Halloween cards are happily in the hands of their recipients, so it's full on Christmas mode!
Betsy's kit has not left the craft table since it's arrival.
Great fun to add glitter to any project. Loved Lizzie's quick and easy method.

Noted A2 Scallop dies.
Martha Stewart Glitter applied with score tape, and a bit on the roses too.
Happy crafting!

PTI October '17 Blog Hop: Capture the Wonder

It's the 25th of the month, and that means, Blog Hop Time at PapertreyInk.
Nichole has challenged us with images from this photo, featuring artist, Adolfo Serra.

I always like to learn about artists I'm not familiar with, so I googled Adolfo Serra,
and found some more of his art.
Among them, this scarlett and grey bird.
The colors inspired this watercolor card,

Peace card

Make It Monday at PTI features the artistry of Melissa Phillips,
who wowed us with 3 gorgeous samples of wreath building, found here:

I must be slipping because I only have a couple of wreaths to work with,
one being the die Melissa used. Found this one (Enclosed Wreath),
and had some fun with building my card around it.

Had to go with pinks, in honor of Melissa, and her incredible talent with pastels!

Embossed my die cut 4 times with Stampendous Shabby Green EP,
and sponge inked and stamped the Doily Tag Base with Beautiful Berries: Winter.
2 colors for the fern: Mint Julep & Green Parakeet.
2 colors for the berries: Berry Sorbet & Pure Poppy.

Background is stenciled with PTI's Polka Dots, Sweet Blush on Sweet Blush cardstock.

A peek on the inside

It's so much easier to finish the inside while the stamps are on my table,
one less step when addressing my cards.

Loved this technique, and plan to do several cards using these stamp sets...
while they're still handy on the table!

Thank you Melissa, and thank you for visiting,
Happy Crafting!

The Card Concept, Autumn Love

Time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.

You could go in so many directions with this inspiration.
Take a Look at my Clean and Layered card.

I first picked the owls and used PTI's Polka Dot Parade #11, and Leaf Prints.
Up in the corner I stamped Autumn Adornments, using the rich fall colors of the photo.
I stamped the sentiment, then stamped it again on the Made With Love tag from PTI.
Gave my owl some vellum wings, and sprinkled some orange sequins around.
Hope you get a chance to play. We'd love to see what inspires you!
Our winner gets to be a guest in the future.

Thanks for visiting, and see you in the lineup!

Wonderland Post

Playing with Betsy's new kit, Wonderland, from PTI and it's everything I'd hoped!
This post is some of the projects I made.
The first is this box card, made with a Lawn Fawn die.
I saw a box card Marybeth Lopez made with this die, and quickly ordered it!

Completely opened, the box becomes a 3 dimensional scene.

Closed it fits perfectly into an A2 envelope.

The card box is decorated all around, inside and out with images and paper from the kit.
I stamped the elements you see, saving the cutouts for other projects.

The next is a card made with one of the preprinted tags in the kit

Started with  one of Betsy's new stencils, and added a strip of birch ribbon to the bottom.
I stamped my own swags (not sure why I'm saving the ones in the kit, but I love
to stamp, and wanted to try the 3-4 step stamping.)
Silver White Winters snowflakes embossed with Ranger's Snowflake Tinsel.

I just had to make one of the cloches. Can't wait to do more. They're going on my
Christmas table, one for each person. The sweet little project comes together quickly.

Can you just picture a dozen dressing up a table?

And finally, a glittered card. this time I die cut and stamped the roses and added them to the strip
included in the kit.

Can't wait to do more. The tags are so perfectly gorgeous, and really don't need
a thing. But I usually want to add a bit of something of my own, a die cut, or added sentiment.
We'll see.
Hope you check back soon to see more!

Happy Crafting!

Give Thanks

The theme is Sentiment Windows at PTI's MIM with Dawn McVey.
She shows us how to cut and embellish a view into our cards.

I cut my window with Brushed Off: Oval (the smaller die), after adding Simply Chartruese
Pattern Pack's plaid and vellum to the front of my card.
2 images were stamped in the window, one with a sentiment, the other full of corn.
Kind of Corny.
Here's a look on the inside

First stamped the sentiment corn, with Orange Zest & Terra-cotta Tile, masked it,
and did the stamping with the corn kernel image.
Happy Thanksgiving was stamped with Americana, which was also the base color
for the kernel corn.

I think depending on the season, if you asked me 'what's your favorite autumn set,'
Leaf Prints has to be at the top. Gorgeous shaped leaves and veins, perfect for ombre stamping,
and included is this sweet stamp to add to the back of my card, ready for my signature.

PTI twine, and button (Vintage Button Mix)

I love seeing what everyone creates each Monday, using these video tutorials.
I've learned so much over the years, from the talented designers and from
all of you too.
Thank you Dawn! And thanks to all of you!
Happy Crafting!
