12 Kits of Occasion October: Autumn Days

Happy Fall y'all! It's time for 12 Kits of Occasions, and this month it's courtesy
of Sharron Gregory of On Papillon Wings. Sharron sent a kit full of seasonal
delights, wonderful die cuts and plenty of sweet images to color.

I made 4 cards with this month's kit, and starting off with a favorite of mine,
made with 3 lovely leaves Sharron stamped for us in  soft autumn colors.

Sharron sent us this acorn die cut with a lacy cutout. I paired it with the Greenery's Oval
frame cut from one of the beautiful autumn papers included in the kit.

Hello Autumn is Penny Black's masterpiece stamp. One of those sweet images
that tells the story all by itself. I just love her!

My last card is my wish for the season, a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

So sorry this post is late. My hubs and I celebrated a milestone anniversary a
few months early by taking a river cruise up the Hudson River. It has been a
dream of mine for some time to see first hand the glorious exhibition of color
along the eastern seaboard. We live in the west, and while a few trees change
nothing surpasses the concentration of wild glorious color the Hudson has!
Take a look.

Nothing matched natures' beauty does it? Hope you enjoyed a few reminders of
fall's glorious transformation!

Thanks for the visit and thanks to Sharron for a kit full of fall's beauty!

Card Concept Challenge: Bountiful Blessings

There's a new challenge at the Card Concept: Bountiful Blessings.
Hello, and welcome to my post celebrating all things beautiful about
this season; Thankfulness, our wonderful country's abundance and
family! And don't forget the best friends through this passion called
papercrafting!
Our inspiration photo is full of warm reminders of this season of
blessings. My card tried to capture some of this feeling of warmth.
I'm calling it's style a mixture of layers and mixed media.

1st off, a layer of colored gel medium through a stencil of leaves by PTI.
When dry, some sponged inking on the edges.
Next a die cut of PTI's Mix & Mat: Flourishes, also edge inked, and stamped
with Year of the Psalms: August.

The ink used for the sentiment is Altenew's Lava Rock.

Final layers are the pumpkins and gourds from PTI's Simply Gourdeous, and leaves from
Poppystamps' Autumn Leaf set, and Maple Trio. The one red leaf on the bottom of the
trio is also from Poppystamps and is a 'Whittle Leaf'.

Come join the fun, you have 2 weeks to play along, and we love to see
how you're inspired.

Hope your season is full of crafty goodness!

Merry Christmas to You & Yours

I finally had some time to play with my Greetery order, and this set called,
With Love at Christmas.

Such a beautiful bouquet of Christmas florals, and Muti-stamped for super wow impact.

And a greeting from Sentiment Suite: Christmas Stamp Set.
Tucked in perfectly on the card.

I fit the bouquet die into my Misti and stamped several for quick and easy assembly.
Each card will have it's matching envelope with stenciled flap.

It'll be Christmas before you know it! Time to get moving on the cards!

A Christmas Card

Greetings Blogging Friends!
Like most of the Greetery's fans, I was thrilled to learn Betsy had a holiday
release in the works. Her style and detailed images, the way they were
presented by Betsy and her team made every one irresistible.
One of the sets that I loved was the sweet church from Christmas Eve.

I created my card using some of the techniques Betsy used on her card for the release.

Betsy did a watercolor panel with a center of 'glow' for her church, with a
frame from Crimped Frame dies. Notice how the blue watercolor panel is
around the edges of the frame? Loved the look, so wanted that on my card.

The church dies include the window cutout, another genius creation, which allows
a further glow to shine through. Betsy has a You Tube video on stamping this set.

The banner at the top and greenery on the corners are more Christmas goodies from my
order. I love too, the snowdrift dies, something I thought so unique.

What did you get from the release? Oh yes, the van was in the order too...
Plan to play with that set soon.

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Card Concept Challenge:

Hi and welcome to a new challenge at the Card Concept.

Now the title to this challenge is Adventure Awaits. But I was inspired
by the tones and neutrals in the photo. Closer inspection gave me a
sense of vintage warmth and lots of vintage texture.
Here's my card:

Creating a card with a bit of vintage texture and warmth, I chose the Greetery's
Bountiful Wreath, and the sentiment from Bountiful Wreath.
I was late acquiring this gorgeous stamp set, and have drooled over every
card I've seen made with it. Finally it was back in stock and I
couldn't wait to use it!

The frame is from PTI's Infinity Frames, versamarked and covered with copper
emboss.
One more loves to share... Altenew Inks. This is a set called Coffee Break. It
includes: Sand Dunes, Rocky Shore, Mocha & Expresso. Neutral but with
warm tones, just yummy! And the way the inks cover the surface of a stamp,
well, I'm a fan.

Hope you have a chance to play along. I love seeing all the ways the
challenge inspires you.

Happy Crafting!

You Are a Masterpiece

Hello Crafty Friends!
Don't you love making a card for no other reason but that you want to?
Going through my ever growing Greetery collection of stamps and dies,
the Macra Made made me smile, so out came the dies.

Pot-Pourri plants and pot, with a background I made a while back.
Nuvo dots

Our church knows I make cards, and has asked if I'd supply cards when needed for
births, get well, encouragement, etc. I had to laugh when they offered to pay me
for them. "No", I said, "I'd love to give you whatever the occasion calls for". With
that purpose on my agenda, I've begun to do a stash of cards that are ready and on hand.

Ah... a purpose to be creative... life is good!

Happy Crafting, my friends!
