Paper Sweeties June Release Sneak Peak!

Welcome to Paper Sweeties' June Release Sneak Peak!
2 fun stamp sets and a sweet cuts die set.

I used one of the the images in the stamp and die set of rain boots that remind me of
garden boots,
My son is a new father this father's day, and loves to garden.
This card goes to him.

The darling gardening boots are from the June release called: Showering You With Love.
(More images from this set coming in the next few days.)
I copic colored the dots on the stamped boots and suspended them on twine.
Happy Wishes from the other new stamp set: Splish Splash
and 'DAD' is from from Fancy Monograms. I love that set of alphabet letters that let you compose
any sentiment!

Check out my teammies here, and check back tomorrow for more fun ideas!

MIM #168 Pt. 2

Did I mention in my last post that this technique is fun?
Ashley created a simple card to highlight the watercolor effect from Baby Wipe Stamping.
My 2nd post is simpler than the first, and the white space is so summery!

Feather Finery and Birds and Blooms
The tiny fussy cut feather with the word, 'Feather', is from Waltzingmouse's Fine Feathers,
and hides a boo boo when I went to stamp the sentiment. (Sad face)

Re-inkers: Tropical Teal, Aqua Mist, Winter Wisteria, Plum Pudding, New Leaf
& Simply Chartreuse

MIM #168 & Fusion Challenge

Ashley shows us the versatility of baby wipes this week at PTI.

With the application of re-inkers to a baby wipe, a stamp becomes a glorious mix of color and texture!
The trick is to choose the colors carefully.
Mud is the result if you don't!
I enjoyed playing with this technique a bit too much, and went through a couple
of experiments before coming up with what I thought was non-mud.
You can plan certain effects (which I found after a few mistakes), like where your light and dark
end up.

Ended up looking rather Hawaiian, so it's going to a cousin who lives on the big island.

Ruby Reprise
Ruby Rose Die Cuts
Wet Paint Sentiment
Re-Inkers: Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Scarlett Jewel, New Leaf, Tropical Teal
Inks: Smokey Shadow & Tropical Teal

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Magic, Craft Room Challenge Things With Wings

Good Sunday Morning to you! We're headed for 106 today,
so a good day to craft inside with the air on!

We had a houseful this weekend, and all stayed up way to late last night, so while it's
quiet, and all are sleeping in, grabbing some me time to post  another card for SSS Monday's challenge: Magic!

Background made with SSS Bubbles and Bars Stencil, and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.
Also sprayed the Memory Box die cut with several starburst. colors
The 'magical' fairy is a Judikins Butterfly Fairy wood stamp.
She is twice embossed on PTI's Smokey Shadow card stock, then selectively bleached and copic colored. Added a few stickles to the wings.
For You sentiment: Waltzingmouse.
Some iridescent rhinestones add to the magic.

Challenge ends in a few hours, just getting this in under the wire!

SSS Monday Challenge

The Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp is to "Create Some Magic".

I have a book I've read to my grandchildren at least 100 times called, "The Magic Sewing Machine".
It's a charming story about 2 orphan children who are left a sewing machine that turns out to be magic.
With it, they take over and banish the wicked orphanage headmaster, find her gold coins, and
save all the orphan children. Lovely colors and illustrations.
My card celebrates the children's book.

Tim Holtz' Sewing Blueprint, gold silver and copper embossed on PTI's card stock.
I fussy cut the machine and popped it up over a stamped image.
Background is a stencil of PTI's Cover Plate: Cross Quilt that was ink sponged in
Harvest Gold, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile, New Leaf and Blueberry. (PTI).
The button was solid green, I embossed the center in gold  to look like the gold coins in the story.

You can find the the SSS Challenge here, but you better hurry, ends on Sunday!

SSS Fathers Day/Masculine

Wednesday's challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Blog is
to create a Fathers Day/Masculine card.
My card is for a son in law that just got his Masters. What a Fabulous way to
celebrate Father's Day!

I die cut a bunch of PTI's Star Borders to create the background of the banner.

Simon Says is showcasing Ranger products, so I used their Distress Inks: Evergreen Bough,
Peeled Paint and Broken China to ink up PTI's Star Banner.
The shaker is from PTI's 4 Square, and grad caps from: Tag Its #4.
Searching for some inspiration, I came across this card from Betsy Veldman found here,
Her clever use of the + and = stamps said it all!

MIM #167

Erin Lincoln makes the cutest notebooks this week on MIM.
With a few hints she uses Papertrey's card stock and stamps
to personalize these sweet gifts.

I had some fun with the Vegetable Garden stamps,
along with Garden Variety 2. 'Just a Note' is from Postmarks.
Masked the tomato image and darkened areas with copics.

Do you know that PTI has corresponding copic colors to each of their inks?
For instance, Pure Poppy has sketch markers R24, R29, & R59 to match it's red.
I'll often use a marker to touch up a flub that wasn't stamped vividly enough,
or shade an area I want to have depth.

I love growing tomatoes. They're easy and prolific here in the Central Valley.
I saw on Dawn McVey's blog, she is noticing the first sign of her crop.
We've had such warm weather lately, my tomatoes are starting to ripen as well.

By midsummer, I'll be knocking on doors with baskets full of tomatoes.
Meanwhile, I visit the garden daily to try to keep ahead of the weeds,
which also grow well in the valley!

MIM #166 Pt. 2

It's always fun to actually have an excuse, uh, purpose for doing a card,
and this one came because a certain grandson won
his championship baseball tournament!

Garrett's the front and center, with the shades,
but they're all all stars!

This week's MIM with Dawn is the perfect technique for honoring Gar-Bear with a card.

And 7th Inning Stretch was the perfect set!
Sketched Stars did the debossing, with a bit of ink watercoloring to define.
Border Stars die, and cap star Zing embossed from Confetti Garlard
Envelope to match,
Inside too.
Love that the star emboss shows when card is open!

MIM # 166

This week's MIM is something I've wanted to try, debossing.
Dawn shows us how, and her card is pure bliss!
I've been working on backgrounds lately, and had several ready to use.

Needed to do another birthday card, and wanted to play with the Circle Scribbles set.
Liked how the scribbles looked with the Center Stage Cover Plate stenciled.

Birthday sentiment from Wonderful Words: Birthday
All Papertrey products

The bright morning light really shows the deboss!
Can't wait to do another!
