Love you to the Core

As September passes before our eyes, I'm reminded of those happy days when
the weather changes, leaves put on a show of color and all of us  eat apples.

The Greetery's Caramel Apple Die was in my order from the release, and I've
been playing with making tags for candy bags. I saved one for a card.

The apple on the card front opens to a message (love the apple script), and becomes
a sweet surprise for the recipient.

All the apple sentiments are included in the Greetery's Fall Foodie Phases.

Ribbon Maker down the center, and Frosted Frame around the edge. the caramel
is GA'd before adding all the nuts and swirly candy.

The apple blossoms are from  Botanicuts Apple.
Such a fun card to make!
Have a lovely fall week! Well, almost fall...

Congratulation Graduate!

Well hello, and welcome to my celebration on a card.
My Greetery came (as usual, lickity split!) and I was in need of a
graduation card for a niece.

The floral cake was tempting me, and after watching the You Tube video on
all the particulars, and checking out the 'Cookbook', I just had to try Kelly
Lunceford's color combo of pinks, reds and purple.

I used the stencils included in the set, die cut and popped up the flowers, before
added the banner.

Doesn't get much brighter than this. Have a good one!

Good Wednesday Morning! Playing along today with the Color Hues Challenge,
where we are challenged with Green and Gold.

I used Altenew's Build a Flower Honeysuckle, and stamped with various greens from
Distress Oxide Inks.

the first layer is gold embossed, then multi-stamped.
Have to say, green was a bit challenging for some reason.
If you'd like to play with Gold and Green, the blog is below.
Happy Hump Day!

Hung Up on You

Good morning. And another Valentine using The Greetery's new Have a Heart release.
The sweet Hearts at Home Sweater die is surrounded by a pieced heart wreath
crafted with the Boxwood Heart base, and stamped with Love is stampset.

This card was on it's way to being tossed. It suffered a smudge on the bottom,
and no amount of scrub would remove a red smudge!
So I did the next best thing, cut it off, and added a scallop edge. The edging is
the sides of the Ribbon Maker die. Not my favorite, but it worked.
Tiny posies from Botanicuts Wildflower Mix.

A sweet little sweater hung on a heart wreath... Valentines are such fun to make!

The Card Concept: Floral Valentine

Floral Valentine is the new challenge at the Card Concept. Here is our photo
inspiration and color swatches.

I love working with dies and die cuts, and chose A Pocket Full of Love,
from Spellbinders to create my Clean and Elegant pocket card.

I used the colors, shades of pink, green and black and placed. my main die cut on
a black background. Then pieced the colors.

The pocket die reveals a card with a sentiment.

Such a great inspiration photo for this challenge, so many possibilities. Can't wait to see
what you do with it!
Play along, and remember to choose a style, one of ours or make up your own.
Have a great week!

Color Hues: the Color Challenge Pink and Red

Well, hello and I'm back again with a new card for The Color Hues Card Challenge, this
time the colors are Pink and Red. Perfect for a Valentine card!

The Greetery's order came so quickly, I dived right in and chose the Heart Arrow
Foiling and die cut.

For the background I used the Ribbon Maker Heart Strip Die and glued. several strips
of shimmer pink cardstock onto a shade darker pink. Then I cut it again from red to
retrieve the heart centers and glued them within each heart.

I was so happy to be chosen as one of the runners up for the last challenge, and
I used one of the same dies (Loopy Bow) on this card as I did on the last one.
It's such a happy bow! Hot Stuff Sentiments die was first red embossed, and
then pink glittered.

Valentines are happy cards we give to those special ones in our lives. Love the
bright kitchy feel of combining red and pink.

Have a great week!

The Card Concept: Harvest Bounty or Christmas Joy

It's time for a new challenge at the Card Concept.  Our theme is: Harvest Bounty or
Christmas Joy. You choose, Autumn theme or Christmas card. With Christmas so near
we thought it would be fun have a dual choice.

I have some Christmas inspiration for you today, and I used the Joy sign on the
top shelf in the picture as the theme of my card.

My card is a shaker, Joy is from Poppystamps, and cut first from silver glitter card
stock and then from white 5 times. Lots of flora from Tim Holtz. 2 sets used here,

Birthday Cabin

I have a fall card to share today, a birthday card for a friend.

Sitting Pretty is one of my top 10 Greetery sets, and here's why:

This is the view from our family cabin in Shaver Lake. So many of our friends have
enjoyed this sweet scene with me, among them, the recipient of this card. I hope she
enjoys the card as much as I did making it.

I love creating scenes like this, with details and layers. The mountains hold a special
place in my heart. We in California have watched sadly as drought, and forest
mismanagement have led to more and more fires. Our cabin and the neighborhood
were spared, while others were not. The fire crews assigned to Shaver
surrounded our village, and diverted the fire around the town and neighboring
homes and cabins. Never have I been so thankful to so many valiant and
devoted men and women! They even texted many of us with pictures of
our property to let us know we were OK.

If you get a chance, there's a fabulous documented video done by Jeff Aielo from
Facebook's Talk of the Hill, who works for PBS, called:

Jeff and his wife gave us daily reports of the fire's growth and devastation.
They continue to be the voice for those of us who demand action and better
 management of the forests.

A Jar of Sunshine

Hi and hope you're enjoying The Greetery's newest as much as I am.
I had some fun with the Jumbo Jar. It features 3 dies, just perfect for
creating a shaker.

I love how the Container Garden stamps fit perfectly within the Jumbo Jar,
and I paired an older set, Oopsie Daisy with the card.

It's easy to make a card from the jar by positioning the top of the die sandwich so it
isn't cut. The folded card is then cut twice. You do have to run it through a couple
of times. The inside dp is from Papertrey, an older linen stripe.

I had the hardest time photographing this set. Couldn't capture the colors, might have
been the acetate. The matching envelope was first lightly inked with Distress
Speckled Egg (the background of the card too), and then stamped.
Betsy includes a color stamping guide, so helpful!

The sweet little bee was cut from yellow cardstock, and filled in with a black
sharpie. The wings are blue vellum.

Fun card to make, and I hope receive!

Delightful Digits

Greetings my card making friends!
Enjoying all the new goodies from the Greetery, and started with the Delightful
Digits Die.

The release is a celebration of stamps and dies that play delightfully well each other
and I love how it works well with their previous sets too.

I had in mind a card for celebrating a 2nd year milestone. I'll bet you can guess who it's for!

The detailing on the hand is amazing! You get to add nail polish and jewelry!

Just had to add an a stamped envelope to match the card! Love that sheer sleeve!

Delightful Digits is, well, delightful!
I'll post later with several other color combos I played with.

Concord and 9th Love Card

Hello friends! I recently got some of C9's newest, and among the stamps and dies was
this floral from the Painted Peony set.

I am always in need of Birthday cards, and LOVE the sweet little script of 'Sending love'
added to the corner. Inside, the birthday sentiment can be personalized.

I die cut several of the peony, and stamped it with 3 coordinating colors, using Altenew Inks.
Visualizing colors together always helps!

The top bloom is the only die cut flower, the 2 side blooms are stamped onto the card front.

The lacy edging is part of their new release as well.

Hope you're having a good weekend, with lots of time to create wonderful
cards!
