The Flower Challenge #103 - Add Embossing (Heat or Dry)

It's June! and lots of time for crating.
The Flower Challenge is all about June this challenge and we're
asking you to use embossing.

My featured flower is a showstopper from Altenew, called Fairy Tale Florals.
Part of the set is an embossing folder that I had such fun inking after I
embossed the image.

I inked my dauber with Picket Fence Distress Ink, and then gently went over
certain spots with Tumbled Glass Oxide. It really lifted the color up!
Then with a white gel pen, I hi-lighted the center stamens.
Just a Note is from The Greetery. It's called, Scripted Sentiments.
Love the way it fits the graceful florals!

Our challenge is through the 25th!

The Flower Challenge December Add Sparkle

Happy December Flower Challenge fans! And  Welcome to my post featuring sparkle!

Lots of bling on my sample card, with Tim Holtz' poinsettia die and sentiment.
That candy cane swirl is from the Greetery.

Hope this is a season of joy for you and yours!  And hope to see your
beautiful sparkle card in the lineup this month!

The Flower Challenge 2 Add a Stencil

It's  reminder time, folks and The Flower Challenge asks for the use of
a stencil for the month of  October.
October! Can you believe it?

I've used a Greetery stamp and stencil, Sketched Wildflower Bouquet,
and die cut it over my framed image.
The beautiful flower bouquet has a stencil set and die to use
with the stampset.
Background is The Greetery's Floral Arches.

Hope you add your stenciled beauty to our lineup!
Remember the challenge ends on the 25th.

I added a little onyx glitter to the flowers.
Always fun to see your creations!

Congratulation Graduate!

Well hello, and welcome to my celebration on a card.
My Greetery came (as usual, lickity split!) and I was in need of a
graduation card for a niece.

The floral cake was tempting me, and after watching the You Tube video on
all the particulars, and checking out the 'Cookbook', I just had to try Kelly
Lunceford's color combo of pinks, reds and purple.

I used the stencils included in the set, die cut and popped up the flowers, before
added the banner.

Doesn't get much brighter than this. Have a good one!

The Flower Challenge #78 Reminder Die Cuts or Stencils

It's reminder time at The Flower Challenge, and I'm working on Easter cards
with my die cut card today.

The Greetery's Botanicuts are my go to dies for any season, and The Lilies have
my heart for Easter! Added a few palm branches and sequins, an
embossed Easter Greeting, and done!

Closeup of the sponge inked lily and leaves.

Play along for 2 more weeks, hope to see you on the blog!

The Card Concept: Red, White & Blue

Red, White and 2 shades of Blue, are the colors featured on the new Card Concept Challenge.

I love the vibes of our cozy inspiration photo, but once again went with the
colors for my card.

I used an old PTI set called Bloom & Grow, a Make It Market all inclusive stamp, stencil,
and die set from Betsy Veldman. I changed up the colors to fit our theme, and added some
pencil depth. I would say my design style is Clean and Layered but truthfully, my cards
are never really clean... more like Layers & more layers!

I love the pull up bouquet with the surprise birthday message.

Also added some Nuvo drops to the flower centers, and Glossy Accent to the heart.
Would love to see what inspires you. Remember, pick a style or make one up of
your own, and don't forget to add out inspiration photo to your post. Have a
wonderful crafty week!

The Card Concept: How Does Your Garden Grow

There's a new challenge on the Card Concept blog, and it's full of spring inspiration!

Hello everyone, and here's my take on this blissful photo!

The blue of the cottage, the pinks and whites against green, all inspired my Clean and
Layered card.

The Flower Challenge: Occasions

One of my very favorite challenges is the Flower Challenge. Who doesn't love
crafting with flowers, right?

Spellbinders has a die set called Sweet Pea,  which I played with to give the petals
a 3-D effect.

The technique to alter the petals is on a Youtube video here:

A closeup of the flowers. The tendrils were created by cutting strips of copic colored
paper. Then curling with my fingernail.

Sentiment: The Greetery's All Kinds of Happy.
Frame, also the Greetery's Postal Frame.

Balloon Bouquet

Finally got to play with the new Balloon Bouquet from the Greetery.
Fortunately it was restocked and after ordering it and a few other stamps and dies,
delivery was quick!

Lots to love about the stamps that create the bright balloon!
Do you have a favorite? Not telling mine, but Betsy's color combo with the pink and
gray is sweet for a baby card!

Have a great day!

Praying

I have a post today for the Altenew Card Challenge, this month inspired by this photo
and colors.

All stamps and dies, Altenew, with the main bloom from Best Buds.
Best Buds is a line stamp, no color filler stamp at all. Perfect for me
who loves to color. I started with copics and added some pencil for
definition.

The Mid-Century Frame die is new to me and it's cut twice from shimmer card stock.
Kinda reminds me of an Autumn sunset.
The leaves and flowers are from Beautiful day, stamped with Altenew's Sand Dunes,
Rocky Shore and Mocha Inks.
Sentiment: Bamboo Rose

The Challenge ends soon. Check out all the deets on the Altenew Blog.

Have a great hopefully, crafty week!

Be Still and Know

Another scripture card made with Betsy's new stamps and dies. I'm completely in love with
the Greetery's Fleur Impressions. The 3 step stamps + stamens = the look of an Impressionist
painting . Tucked into the terrrarium with verse was a joy to create.

I stamped the background before adding the solid terrarium die cut. Then built the scene
within the terrarium.

All Altenew Inks. Talk about vibrant! Love the many colors and how glorious they
stamp!

Hope you have a wonderful week. Plan to spend time planting some
much needed color in some pots outside. Hope you don't mind if I
post some pictures when they're done...

A Lovely Birthday

Good Monday Morning!
I'm playing along with Win It Wednesday, Laurie's Fabulous Favorites.
This week Laurie challenges us to use our favorite coloring techniques.
I've chosen a couple for my birthday card.

Ink stenciling is a favorite for a subtle background.
And above all others, watercolor. So relaxing, and always a delight to
see where the water will take the color.

The leaves were shaded with copics, another favorite.
Getting this one under the wire.
Hope your week is full of crafty goodness!

A Get Well Card

PapertreyInk's challenges are new every Wednesday, and one of them
Laurie's Fabulous Favorites,

is a challenge I'm joining today.
Laurie picked a photo inspiration and challenged us to do the same.

Here's mine:

A beautiful photo of Japanese cherry blossoms against a dreamy blue sky.

I chose the blooms and berries from PTI's Fresh Bouquet for my card.
The inks are Altenew's newest Spring collection, with copics for accents.
Nuvo's Copper Blush Embossing powder and copper sequins give a bit of bling,
and also added some splatters with Altenew's Magenta Ink.

Nothing better to get inky with a challenge, thank you Laurie!
Love the Wednesday challenges!

The stamps and dies are still on sale in the PTI shop.
My link will take you right to the store, and there's a die set to go
along with the stamps.
