Paper Sweeties July Release Sneak Peek!

It's July 13th already folks, can you believe we're half way through 2014?
I have a sneak peek at a new stamp set from Paper Sweeties!

This sweet kitty is from Sweeties Pets, available to purchase on the 15th.
I've done a card and tag for a gift, possibly for a new pet owner(?).
I've used Paper Sweeties Rusty Bells, and Blueberry Sequins. Can't get enough of
these gorgeous petal shaped sequins!
I had the purple twine, but PS features twine in every color!

Be sure to check each and every designer's blogs to see how they've used the new sets!
And come back tomorrow for more inspiration!

Pssst! The heart tag is a Sweet Cut, and the heart is from Sweetie Pie.
It's Silver embossed and filled in with Viva Dacor Blackberry.

Virginia's View Challenge # 5

MIM #171

Make It Monday at Papertrey,
Betsy showing her skills with Pop-Ups.
Love this!
So many ways to use Papertrey's dies.

Gatsy Glamour kinda reminded me of a shuttered window,
combined with Home Made and Vegetable Garden,
a card for a new neighbor.
I think it was one of the PTI designers that said the artichoke reminded her of a pineapple,
the symbol of hospitality. Works for me!
Super simple, super quick.
All PTI products, except the pearl pen on the top

Is it me, or is the summer flying by?
Enjoyed the 4th at the lake with family, and missed so much online
with blogging.
Lots of catchup ahead!

The Card Concept #13

Create a Baby Themed card is the challenge this week at The Card Concept Challenge Blog.

Love the Rattled stamp and die set from PTI.
Stitched rectangle die set from Lil Inkers.
PTI card stocks including Shimmer Silver & Pearl
Wet Cement ink (sentiment) from Hero Arts

The detail on the rattle is an embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang
called Geranium Coral Blush. Tried to capture the iridescence of the
baby pink, so soft and pretty!

Style? Gotta go with Classy and Elegant!

Paper Sweeties July Inspiration Challenge #21 - 'Patriotic Prints'

It's July 1st! And that means Paper Sweeties July Blog Hop!

Debbie has given us this inspiration photo,
with the sweetest patriotic prints and colors:

Here's my card to inspire.

Emma is dressed in her strawberry summer jumper from Thanks Berry Much.
The Banner is also from that stamp set.
'Celebrate' is from Beautiful.
Handmade pinwheels from festive papers.
The sticks are toothpicks I colored with copics.

The 4th is right around the corner.
Do you have big plans?
Hope you enjoy the inspiration from the rest of the team, and find some
time to join the challenge!
Our guest designer is Bethie Johnson
Welcome Bethie!

MIM #170

MIM time!
Erin demonstrates masking with die cuts.

She shared several steps I tried to incorporate,
first off, die cutting the masks with sticky notes that are all over sticky.
Don't have those, and wanted to do a card today, so applied
doubled scotch tape behind each die cut.
2. Create a background.  Easy to do with the new Ombre Builders set.
3. Sponge on some color areas with ink.
4. Stamp images where previously masked. Topiary Trio had all the stamps I needed.
5. Mist area. Didn't go too well, so covered a blob with triple dies from Wet Paint.
6. Cover all splotched areas. Yes, I had 'em! Upper Right and lower left brick patterns added last,
and in Scarlett Jewel, because oops were unintentional in those very spots!
Love masking, do it all the time,
but Erin's video is full of designer tips worth noting!
Easy as 1, 2, ….6!

Catch it all here:

Tag You're It

Another tag for the Tag You're It Challenge.
This time using stamps and dies from Just Right.

A reminder, you still have a few days to add your tag to this all new
challenge blog.

Top photo shows the glossy accented lobster.
Back tag is embossed and inked vellum.
Did I mention I love making tags?

Tag You're It Mini Challenge

As I sometimes do, I went visiting this beautiful Sunday,
and began with blogfriend Marybeth from Marybeth's time for Paper,
which led me to a new challenge,

featuring tags,
and some more blog 'friends',
and their wonders of tags to inspire!
I love doing tags, and plan to visit often.

Here's the challenge tag by Karin Akesdotter:

Mister Huey's Color Mist: Shine
Gold EP.
Ribbon and Twine: My stash

I mounted the embossed seahorse onto coaster board before fussy cutting it
That's Winter wonderland ep, one of my fav's at Christmas time!

PTI June Blog Hop

Hi there, and welcome to PTI's June Blog Hop!
Our inspiration photo is bright and summery!

I had 3 cards made, and then my PTI order came!

So here are the 3, with one more from the new release.

Together with the Land of Nod photo we were given color and sketch recipe cards to inspire.
We are also encouraged to work out of our comfort zone.

Clean and Simple is an effort! Layered CAS is a bit less stressful!

All PTI products

Card 2 uses these colors and this sketch:

Love the frames!

OK, NOT CAS, but definitely layered!
Once again, all PTI dies, stamps, inks and card stock.

So much fun creating these mini framed 'art'.

And 3rd card, using these colors and this sketch:

All Shimmer card stock, & PTI dies, and as close as I come to CAS (ha!)

And then my order came!
Had to break into those luscious new sets!
Heather Nichols used a technique of softening the edges of the inked design with a
watercolor brush for the new release. Loved the artsy look!

All PTI, except the watercolor paper and dots.

Well, there's so much to see today,
hop on over to Nichole's blog to play along.
don't forget to give lots of love along the way!

Fusion/CAS(E) this Sketch #81

The latest Fusion Challenge gives us this sketch/photo as our inspiration:
Such an elegant themed photo needed all the gold I had in stash.
Loved the sketch and pix so I went with combining both.

It was so much fun gathering all my golds, and following the inspiration.

PTI cardstocks, Star Banner dies, Wonderful Words: Forever, Inside Out: Love,
Beautiful Butterflies
Darice EF
Memory Box: Brea Ornament
My Craft Spot Metallic Sequins

There's a one week window for Fusion's challenge, better hurry if you want to play!

MIM #168 & NBUS #1

Melissa Phillips shares some technique fun using chalks, stamps and Impression plates.
I love what happens to a surface when chalk is applied to an
impressed design.
More layering texture when stamped design enters the picture.

This is my 3rd post.
Yes I love layering,
yes I love learning from creative masters like Melissa,
and yes, I love this particular technique!

Once again, with Betsy's impression plate,
this time with blues and greens,
and finally
a NBUS (never before used schuftt, thank you Darnell) stamp
from Life Is Beautiful.
Perfect Pearls were added to the butterfly die cuts.
Just haven't gotten around to using this breathtaking set until now!
Perfect timing, because it's also going in Darnell's 1st ever challenge!

Not sure who's getting a card with 'Beautiful' as a sentiment,
so I'll add it to a growing stash of ready to send cards!
